Wonderful food! I’ve eaten there multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. And the variety of mamosas is tasty.

Made reservations for 8 at 6:45, we were greeted and seated right away. We sat in the Garden room and love the décor. It was really cold in there, we asked to turn up the temp and they did. The food was fabulous! Our waitress was very accommodating. The chef was seen walking around and checking on everyone, we told him our dinner was great, he was very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone one. The price was not bad for what you got. I plan on going back with my daughter, she would love the pot roast.

When you are looking for the same great food, Mimi’s is a great place to go! The quality of food is top notch. Wait staff can be a hit or a miss. Tom is the best waiter in the joint!

After ordering to-go from Mimi’s at another location, I decided to give this one a try. We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted and sat promptly. Although the restaurant was maybe a quarter full, it took the waiter a few minutes to finally greet our table and take our beverage order. I saw that the salad I wanted was not available on the pick two soup and salad deal. When I asked our server if I could substitute that salad, we explained that he couldn’t because that would mean that he would have to type in a bunch of add-ins, and it would probably make my meal more expensive than getting the full salad and cup of soup. Whether or not this was true, it was an odd response. We put in our order and our lobster bisque came out quickly. It had great flavor and came out hot. That was the last we saw our waiter until our food came out, despite the fact that my boyfriend’s soda sat empty on the side of the table for upwards of ten minutes. Our food came out and our servicer came back to take our dirty soup dishes before noticing that my boyfriend’s drink was empty, and finally refilled it. My salad was basic, but good — however, the same could not be said about my boyfriend’s meal. His waffle was soggy and appeared to be a microwaveable waffle that came out of a box(definitely not what you’d expect when you’re getting a $ 7 waffle). Additionally the syrup they brought out was obviously extremely cheap grocery brand syrup — stringy and gross. He also ordered corn beef hash, but I’m pretty sure what they brought out was turkey sausage. Regardless of what it was, it was undercooked in the middle and not edible. I’ve had more appetizing breakfasts at free continental breakfasts at hotels. After we were clearly dissatisfied with our meal, the waiter finally came over to awkwardly offer a box. When he brought it back, he set it down on the table and watched my boyfriend box up my meal for me. If you’re going to be standing right there, why not box it up for me? $ 40 and an hour and fifteen minutes later, we were out of there. Overall, terrible service, good soup and salad, terrible breakfast food, and overpriced. We will not be going back.

i was concerned with some recent reviews when I was asked to find a location for birthday brunch, but Mimi’s calmed my fears and provided me a first rate experience. Manager Rodney assured me that he would guarantee that his staff could get dozen women out in an hour. Veteran waitress Jeanette did an excellent job taking our orders quickly, keeping our coffee cups full and getting out food and drinks out in a very quick manner. Many in my party enjoyed the quiche and the strawberry waffle pardu. Rodney stopped by our table to be sure we were all satisfied and we sure will. In fact, someone said we should go once a month. Perhaps we will!!!

Cleanliness 4 Service 3 Food 4 Likelihood 3 1 – 5(5 Best!) 3.5 I have been to Mimi’s about 4 times in my life, once in KC and three times in Omaha. It simply isn’t a place that I normally have on my list. This is my first time for breakfast. For a bakery/comfort food style restaurant, I think their breakfast menu is very limited. Eggs and pancakes is about all you are going to get. The order taker took a while to get to the table to greet me and bring water. She was more prompt when the 2nd person arrived. We finally ordered and for not being too busy I thought it took a bit longer than a normal restaurant would take. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. All the sides were brought with the meal. I had to ask for refills, as you know that is a deal breaker for me. The order taker spent most of the time in the kitchen when not bringing food out. Little or no maintenance at tables. No manager touching tables either. The restrooms were immaculate(THANKYOU!) Overall if you are looking for average, good food with average service you will not be disappointed.

I ate here for the first time recently. I have to say that I also experienced pretty bad service here. That said, the food was pretty great. First off, we get seated and we sit there for about 5 to 7 minutes. At this point, I am kind of annoyed since the place wasn’t too busy. Finally our waiter comes. At this point we had so much time with the menu that we were ready to order. Now, the turkey burger I had came with a sauce on it. I specifically stated that I would like that sauce on the side(as I had never had it before and was unsure if I would like it). Anyway, our waiter seemed more interested in chatting with his co-workers than checking on his tables. He also disappeared for about 20 minutes because someone else brought us refills and our food. She was very nice and attentive. I am not sure where our waiter went for those 20 minutes but it did strike as rude and odd to put off the work to the other waitress, although she did a very excellent job. I really enjoyed the turkey burger I had. It was juicy and cooked right. Although, my sauce did not come on the side, but it came on the burger. However, I did like the sauce so it wasn’t a big deal. We had this thing that we got from my Partners work that when opened revealed a discount of some kind. This could only be opened by the manager. Our waiter said the manager would come by shortly. I was very pleasantly surprised when the manager came by and stuck around a few minutes to chat about his recent trip and college football with us. He was nice, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his job. He also asked us about the meal. I told him that we enjoyed our food. I didn’t bother to mention anything about the waiter, because by giving bad service he is only hurting himself. We left a tip, but it was the bare minimum. All in all, I would return in the future. I enjoyed the food quite a bit, the manager was friendly, however the service did lack a bit, but it did not seem like everyone was this way, just our particular waiter.

What happened to this place? When it first opened it was amazing! The portions were nice and big and the food tasted great. Over time things went down hill, portions went small. I came in this morning with my family to have a nice breakfast. It was two adults and two small children. We all had pancakes which were over cooked. The«fresh» fruit tasted frozen. The sausage links didn’t taste like sausage. I feel like I ate at Denny’s. I’m going to scooters to wash this bad taste out of my mouth.

Was disappointed. Have been to Mimi’s before but it has been a while since my last visit. Service was poor. Which was unusual because it the restaurant was dead. Food was bland and uninteresting. I had the Cajun Pasta. Had little flavor, put a lot of salt on it to give it flavor. Very disappointed because we have had good experiences in the past. The wait staff seemed unprofessional. Cell phones sticking out of back pockets, gum chewing, talking about non-work«stuff» to one another. It will be a while until we return. There are plenty of «better» restaurants in Omaha that I can spend my time and money at.

Reminds me of most cafes. Food was good and drinks were ok. Service was good, but definitely felt like a chain.

OK … apparently I’m a glutton for punishment. After one bad lunch experience a while back, I and a friend returned. Once again our service was horrible … plain and simple. Our waitress was awful and had quite the attitude. She took forever to take our order — actually taking tables around us first that were seated AFTER us. Now we had a hungry toddler at our table and were obviously ready to order and our patience wore out quickly. I had ordered a drink from the bar. Our food had arrived … not my drink … when I had to stand up to get her attention she mumbled as she walked away that the bartender was«backed up.» Right. On a slow weekday at 1:00? Sure. When my mojito did arrive it was all ice and definitely not worth the $ 7.(it was already a long day already … I SO needed that drink!) We had used all of out napkins to clean up a leaking milk glass and no extras were offered up … nor was more milk. My friend said this was also the first time she had not gotten a little snack for her little one either. When our food arrived it was average. My BLT was ok(the waitress had forgotten however I had asked for it to be «lightly toasted») and the French Onion Soup itself had great flavor. After asking a third time for napkins and none were YET brought over, I was about to wipe my hands on a curtain. ;) Napkins arrived when we were nearly done. My friend never did get ketchup to go with her fries. I saw another table even ask to talk to a manager. We didn’t want to leave much of a tip if any, but our waitress took so long to bring us a bill we could only imagine how long it would take to pick up the tab and then bring us change. Sigh …

Tried Mimi’s two weeks ago, just before starting up on Unilocal.Wish I’d checked it out here before dropping in. Like many places of its ilk(Le Peep, Garden Café), it can be summed up as bland, uninspiring food that isn’t especially fresh. At 4:30 pm on a weekday, the service was fine and dandy, but the food puts this place on the«don’t bother coming back» list.

#210 As I made my way back to the West Coast with a stop in the Midwest, I was happy to find myself at a chain restaurant. Walking in, you forget what state you’re in and immediately feel the warmth that Mimi’s provides its customers. The architectural design of the building is exactly like every other Mimi’s and the style of the knick knacks that adorn the walls haven’t changed in years. The waitress was on point throughout the entire night and didn’t miss a beat in terms of refilling our cups of water and getting us extra utensils. Unfortunately, it was the food that brought the 4-star experience down to a 3-star. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Soft Tacos and I had no idea what was going on with the thing. The tacos were filled to the brim, which is usually a good sign, but the mix of flavors was terrible. Way too sweet, with not enough fish and too many carrots. Yeah, carrots. I doused the thing in salsa to improve it but that actually made it worse. The salsa was sweet(!) as well and there was absolutely no spice. How can you have salsa with no spice?! Mimi’s, focus on your menu! What happened? Regardless, if you were going to order some safer options such as a burger or tuna melt, give this place a shot.

We went here for the first time… I must be getting old — I didn’t really notice a Cajun theme — there was some French stuff… We had tried to go here some time back — but they caught on fire or something. I didn’t realize they opened back up until my wife recommended it. We had appetizers and salads — both were tasty. Not amazing, but also not overpriced.

Nothing bad but nothing too special. I one of their pomegranate drinks and was excited to taste it from the description … but it just didn’t have any specific flavor. For dinner, I tried their blueberry french toast breakfast. Again, it sounded delicious, but the flavor was just missing something. It wasn’t bad in anyway, just no flavors that came together in a way that would make me want to go back again anytime soon.

A ridiculous affair. A circus of purposeless delays. A manager with a sinister mustache. I had never been to a Mimi’s before. Our party had been debating another establishment when the aye’s had it for Mimi’s. I figured it’s Village Point, what could go wrong? My answer was delivered presently: virtually everything! We arrived that evening with ample time to beat the rush. We were promptly seated and I was immediately impressed with the quality of the seats(which were absurdly comfortable). Our server was prompt and courteous. So far, so good. After I ordered a vodka martini, without and special requirements, this dinner started to run aground. The drink literally took twenty minutes. Our poor server, bless her heart, came to apologize three times for the delay. She actually complained about the bartender to us. Her words were, paraphrased, «I don’t know what he’s doing.» Apparently the bar was out of vodka and more was required. I guess it meant they had to walk over to Brix to obtain more. Once our meal arrived, it was a feast for the senses and a tribute to the wretched. The so-called«grilled meatloaf» appeared to have been sliced from a frozen tube and tossed into the microwave. There were no grill marks to be found. The«patty» nature compounded the bizarreness of this dish. The potatoes were reasonable yet clearly instant. The gravy was serviceable but also food service quality. The steamed vegetables, however, were quite delicious. My guest had ordered a grilled chicken and salad affair. This dish was a complete and utter disaster. Even the server looked revolted when she sat it down in front of its recipient. The chicken had never seen a grill. It looked microwaved. The chicken was torn up and dropped on top of a bed of iceberg lettuce. That’s right, no romaine to be seen. It was shredded iceberg and carrots. This was pure hospital cafeteria fare all the way. After requesting a dialogue with the manager(with the full support of our delightful and professional server), he came over to our table with a combative and adversarial attitude. Obviously there is a misunderstanding and he was simply not interested in making it right. After all, this is Village Point! There will be customers regardless. «Get them in, get them out» would probably summarize his managerial ethos. After making it abundantly clear to him what customer service is, we reached a satisfactory solution and paid our bill and vacated the premise. So, in summary: great seats, great wait staff, lousy bar, and miserable management. If you can stomach the risk, then visit Mimi’s.

I went back to Mimi’s with my family this morning and it did not disappoint. The prices are a bit higher than you would find at Village Inn but it’s totally worth it. This time I ordered the Santa Fe wrap which had scrambled eggs, onions, jalapenos, cilantro, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and black beans. It was fantastic. I also ordered the orange juice and like last time, it was very tasty and tasted fresh though I was informed that it isn’t.

I went to Mimi’s on a Sunday for lunch. The wait was ½ an hour, which is typical for a brunch place in Omaha on a Sunda). The wait was made better by a drink at the bar while watching some football. I ordered some mixed berry pancakes with scrambled eggs, potatoes and a side of bacon. Everything was really good, though they should provide more syrup with the pancakes. The service was just right. Whoever said the New Orleans décor doesn’t match the menu was right. But I liked it. As always, I don’t care if it’s a chain if the food is good.

I just went to Mimi’s Café for lunch today with a friend. I had never heard of this place and I’m always up for trying something new. I had the lunch special with the Chicken Venetian and corn chowder. The chowder was pretty good, it had some celery and maybe potato in it, not bad at all. Our server recommended the Chicken Venetian which is basically almost like a pizza/calzone. It has tomato sauce, pepperoni, cheese, chicken and some other stuff. Basically a pizza except the bread they use is not pizza dough. I thought the chicken was a bit too dry and thought the dish was ok, but won’t try it again. Not sure if I would be so confident at recommending it as our server was. My friend ordered the Quiche with Brie cheese but unfortunately they were out, lol. We were both looking forward to trying it out so I guess that’s an excuse to visit again. So she ended up ordering the Quiche Lorraine which I didn’t think was very good. It didn’t have very much flavor at all. Their coffee-cinnamon muffin that came with the meal was really good though. The service was prompt and friendly and the booths we sat in were quite comfortable. Overall: Not spectacular, not terrible. Will need to try out a few more things on the menu to have a more definitive review.

I was excited to try Mimi’s… before I found out it was a chain. But since I’m a sucker for trying anything once we stopped by for lunch after the Street of Dreams(in lieu of finding out if the Cheeseburger in Paradise fish tacos were as good as I remembered). I couldn’t quite figure out our server. She was very nice and helpful, but there wasn’t really a sense or urgency or efficiency. However, just when I was starting to get irritated by that, she’d show up and her friendly demeanor would cancel my earlier notions. We couldn’t help but notice that the blinds needed some serious dusting — not even the tops of my bookcases look like that… At Mimi’s they(oddly enough) are going for a Cajun theme décor but the dishes seemed to reflect more of the ‘french cottage’ building exterior(and to our disappointment there was no alligator on the menu). After much deliberation, I went with the French Quarter burger(avocado, bacon, Swiss, 1000 island, lettuce on ‘grilled garlic sourdough Parmesan’ and, since I was in the mood for something a little spicy, a cup of the Chicken Gumbo soup. The burger was almost an unmanageable stack of ingredients and the bread was cheesy to the max(think panera’s parmesan asiago bagel). Not suprisingly it tops the scales at 1480 calories and 105 grams of fat — good thing I only ate half… The soup showed up splattered out of the cup and onto the doilie covered plate. I know I shouldn’t be expecting big presentation but it was that messy that I noticed. And it was unfortunately so bland I sent it back in favor of the corn chowder which also ended up being unremarkable. The burger and fries were good — you’re not in danger of leaving hungry — but nothing had a lot of pizzazz(including the shrimp Po boy). For a Cajun themed restaurant, that’s not a good sign. The albacore salad and avocado sandwich was okay, but considering again the restaurant theme — the tuna salad sandwich shouldn’t have been the high point of the meal.
