This place is amazing. The food was phenomenal from the ceasar salad(best salad ever) to the blue cheese potatoes. The steak itself… words can’t describe it. The waitresses were very accommodating, as well as the host. I definitely would say this was a 5 star restaurant with 5 star food, its amazing. I can’t believe anyone would rate it less then that but hey, you can’t please everyone. I will be putting this on my list of places I visit often to eat a good meal.

I have visited here several times for work and for pleasure. I absolutely love it. Service is terrific, the owner«Mo» is a terrific host, and everything I have eaten has been top notch. You can’t go wrong with any steak, the bacon wrapped quail and lobster bisque are notable specialities, and every dresser will make you want to come back again. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Decent, but not worth the price. I’ve spent $ 1600 at Mahogany… now that was worth it…

Prime is an upscale dining experience. It eminates class and outstanding dining at its best in Omaha You can walk out down a little or a lot of money; really depends if you’re looking to splurge or focus on the food so to speak. Although it is steak dining at it’s finest, the menu offers 5 star items ranging from Seafood to Chicken and Pork but what really grabs you are the accompanying items. The oversized sweet potato, truly special appetizers, and a desert menu to die for seperate Omaha Prime from just about every restaurant in Omaha. If i could afford it, I would eat here nightly. I try to stop in at least once a month. It is quiet, extremely clean, unique, attended by some of the best professional wait staff in the business, and really a dining experience to remember. Do not come expecting chain items. Come with an appetite and high expectations and you’ll be highly pleased that you did.

Steaks will run about $ 40 plus sides. While the dining room has a nice atmosphere in the modern style, I have been to cheaper places with a nicer dining room. Additionally, the bathrooms were run down, not acceptable for this price point. On to the food. Bread served pre meal was bland. With the dish came rice. The rice was dry. The best thing I can say is that the new was excellently cooked. Very moist and tender.

I had been hearing about this place forever and walked past dozens of times, but had never gone inside. I made a reservation for a birthday and had no idea what to expect. When we showed up at 7pm we walked through what I can only describe as the classiest looking entry I’ve ever seen. We went upstairs and had terrace seating overlooking Vmertz. The menu was mostly presented in hand from a large tray brought to the table by our very polite and helpful waiter. Each featured main course was described in detail and visually presented. Both of us ordered the strip steak which was fantastic. The blue cheese potatoes were very good, and the bacon sprouts were above average. The lobster bisque was served in a puff pastry but was average(the only mild disappointment as it was a punchless soup without any identifiable pieces of lobster in it). The Caesar Salad had the best dressing I tasted in months. If you have not been to Prime, understand that the sides are served FAMILYSTYLE. This means you order from the menu for the entire table, not per plate. So if you are calculating costs, be somewhat relieved! All in all, a memorable experience capped off by an owner who insisted on giving my guest a free drink for the celebration. We will be back.

Just not what I expected for a high end restaurant. Service was ok, atmosphere was ok.

We went on a Friday and the place was pleasantly quiet. The waitress said that the week days are their busy days. They have a great seating area on the balcony in the Old Market Downtown but make sure and use the entrance on 11th St. If you are looking for a wide range of steak choices, this is your place but be prepared to pay for it. Every time you sneeze its another $ 20. We started off with the quail breast which were amazing in flavor but of course they are the breast of tiny birds so be prepped for that. More an hors d’œuvre than an appetizer. Steaks all seemed cooked to perfection and the flavor was good. I would recommend the marbled New York Strip for that juicy steak flavor in a medium cooked piece of beef. They have something called a tomahawk. It looks large but I would be anxious to some day try it and see how much is bone. The blue cheese potatoes sounded better than they were. I was crazing full crumbles of blue cheese but it was mixed in with a sort of gravy finish. It was a great restaurant to try but I’m not sure I will make it back. For the price, I’m just not that big of a steak guy. I’m from an Iowa farm and can find better.

Had the bone in Filet that I rank as «good as it gets». Reminds me of being in Chicago where steak is king! This place is top notch!

Absolutely terrible. I ordered a 18 oz ribeye, which was undercooked and accompanied by some wilted lettuce and two baby carrots. I also got some sweet potato fries. Total…$ 55!!! Terrible rip-off. The steak was gross and the sweet potato fries were just standard bar fare. I can’t imagine any excuse I would ever have to return here.

Came here for an anniversary dinner!!! The food, the service and the atmosphere was amazing!!! Best French onion soup I ever had!!! The filet and Kansas City strip were excellent!!! I don’t understand why anyone would rate this place below a 5!!! Thank you Omaha Prime for such a wonderful meal!!!

We went here because we didn’t want a chain restaurant. Came in on a Wednesday night during Omaha’s Restaurant Week. The restaurant didn’t seem too busy and front staff was nice. However, the service staff seemed overwhelmed and slow at times. Our server seemed slow and distracted at times. The steaks themselves were nice and tender, cooked to our party’s liking. Side dishes of the brussel sprouts and blue cheese potatoes were just ordinary.

We enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at Omaha Prime while passing through town. We selected Omaha Prime as it seems to be one of the few locally owned steakhouses in Omaha. The décor is traditional and understated like most established steak houses. It’s not a trendy, «new american» restaurant so neither should the décor or ambiance be modern or trendy. I really don’t understand previous reviewers’ criticism of the décor; I thought Omaha Prime had a great, revered classic steakhouse feel to it. There is a charming outdoor patio which would allow romantic outdoor seating if only it wasn’t 94 degrees the night we were there. We started with the lobster bisque puff pastry and the bacon wrapped quail. Both were savory and delicious although $ 12 for lobster bisque seemed a little high. Personally, I wasn’t impressed with the puff pastry part of the soup but I’m not a fan of dough and my husband liked it so we’ll stay neutral on that. The bacon wrapped quail(3 pieces) was very tasty. Our 80z filet mignons($ 30) were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy and a really great cut. It did not need any seasoning. The steak really was amazingly delicious. All potatoes and sides are served a la cart. The steak is only served with a pathetic looking, small wilty side of bagged spring mix. I understand they want to have some color on the plate but I really think they would have been better off skipping this chincy little pile of lettuce. Or they should serve it with some italian dressing because I don’t know anyone that likes to eat plain lettuce! The two of us split a side of well-made creamed spinach(~$ 7). It was a generous portion which could probably be shared among three or maybe four people. Even my husband who doesn’t like creamed spinach said it was delicious. Overall, a very delicious meal at a high quality steakhouse. We would return if ever in Omaha again.

Omaha is Warren Buffet town. And Buffet likes older Italian steakhouses that are quaint and homey and a bit cheaper. Good for him. Omaha Prime is a more typical old school steakhouse. It isn’t cheap, but the steaks are amazing. In two trips I had the filet and the ribeye, and I did not look back. The service was great without being obtrusive. Plus, there was no wait even in the middle of the BH Shareholders’ Meeting. Thank you for that. Whether you are celebrating an occasion, or celebrating life — this is the place to do it in Omaha.

This is probably not the best place for average Joes looking for a quick steak dinner. This is where you take somebody to have long chats/discussions with… say a business dinner or a date. With that being said, the several times I’ve been here was work-related. The timing of when food comes out is perfect and I can’t complain about service at all. Sure, it’s a bit pricey but what place in the Old Market isn’t(the ice cream place doesn’t count!)? They do a nice presentation of the menu. The servers have a silver platter with the different cuts of meat, potato, broccoli, mushrooms and other sides for you to choose from. I always get either a rib eye or filet mignon cooked medium-medium rare. Tender, juicy and well-seasoned. You can’t go wrong with steaks in Omaha!

I believe Omaha Prime deserves a five star. I just had dinner and had the prime rib served medium rare. Side orders of grilled asparagus and mushrooms. I would skip the potato with blue cheese. Our server was truly informative and quite witty. I can see that there are many competition for superb steaks in Old Market area but I just had to put my two cents and give credit to this establishment deserving better rating.

I have to agree with a majority of the previous comments on here — and having said that, I came here because somehow my coworkers thought this place looked better than other places around. 1. Too expensive for the medium to low quality 2. We sent back one steak because it was undercooked 3. My tomato onion salad was just that and could have been made at home. 4. Nice waiter but medium-slow service. 5. Bread was basic(grocery store) and not very warm. I said a few times during dinner that they must be paying a lofty lease, because the building is in a good location and they are on the second floor — but the décor leaves something to be desired. Drive 20 mins and go to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse on 170th for an amazing meal!

I went to this place with a group after a local recommended it, I should have checked Unilocal first! The New York strip was pretty good but expensive for what it was, the sides were ok but again expensive. The service was slow and guy that waited on our table became very flustered and struggled to cope with a large table. I wouldn’t eat here again.
