Spoke to two different people. Tried to order«two orders of vegetable fried rice with carrots, peas & extra egg and one broccoli beef. I then asked if they had a mixed vegetable entrée. He repeated, «beef vegetables. Ok» I said, «no… Mixed vegetable.» He put me on the phone with a woman who understood less of what I was asking and wanted me to start my order from the top. I’ll never go back. I’ll never call back. Previous owners knew how to run a business. Sad to see this place go downhill. Communication is a key element in running a business. Hire someone who can help you or you’re going to lose more and more customers. Good luck.

This place has good, standard Chinese-American fare. The staff was kind on muyfirst visit. The restaurant was clean and the price was right. There are no gimmicks or authentic dishes here, but what there is, is good. Este lugar tiene buena, típica comida China-Americana. Los empleados son amigables. Todo eestaba limpio y los precios son buenos. No hay nada muy especial o particular, pero lo que hay es bueno. Pienso que no se habla español.

I was really impressed the food here. A nice small cozy little feeling place. I ordered the hunan beef. I can say this was one of the most tender slices of beef I have had in many of the omaha chinese restaurants. Fresh nice veggies with it and the sauce was not overpowering or thick.

Now under new ownership. The food is different, but still very good. I do prefer the old style of food, but the public must disagree with me, because it seems busier then ever. The lady who handles almost everything up front is fantastic, and learned our orders very quickly. Last time we were in she brought drinks without us having to order them. She doesn’t have any help though, so if it does get busy, service can be slow. Even though the menu has changed, the prices remain fantastic. Still my favorite Chinese restaurant.

I live in boston now and was extremely sad to come back over the holidays to find it was under new management. The food was totally not the same(and not as good as it used to be). I guess I’ll have to find a new abortive Chinese restaurant.

Under new management, the food was not the same. Their fried rice now has peas and onions in it, and it seemed soggy. For me, this was not a good change. The cashews in my cashew chicken were soft. Egg drop soup was nice and came with a bag of wonton crisps. The crab rangoons are now triangle shaped and flat, but still very good. The kids seemed to like the sweet and sour chicken just fine. It was puffier than the old recipe. The sweet and sour shrimp were huge full shrimps, not chopped up bits like before. I’d say that is better too. I noticed they now offer a limited Thai menu. We will give that a try. The front counter area looks different, but they didn’t remodel, just moved some stuff around. All in all, we will miss the old owners. They were kind and we wish them well. We will give the new ones another try, but so far, it was just ok.

UPDATE: This is a followup to any of my previous reviews for OG… I saw a roach run across the wall here the last time I went in to grab a bite to eat. It was terrible, this was one of my favorite lil’ spots to grab some cheap Americanized Chinese food aaaaaaaaaaaand now I can’t :(This is the second of my favorite cheap lil’ spots that I’ve had to renounce because of nasty bugs… I’m going to cry now, stay away… :(

Ordered take out from here the other night and it was great! I ordered an individual size for only $ 7 and had enough for two meals. I would definitely go back again.

We love this restaurant! We eat in or take out every week or two. The food is always great, our favorite is vegetable fried rice with a side of spicy brown sauce — making me hungry thinking about it! The service is always great and very personal. We only wish they were open on Sundays.

Great food and terrific service makes this a winner! You place your order at the counter and your food is brought to you. Nice ambiance, casual & comfortable. Did I mention the food is fabulous? And very reasonably priced? Bookmark it, Danno.

I’m a fan because my brother used to work here, so I always get free food whatever he brought home for dinner from«Ori». Owners are super nice to the employees, and my brother worked there for more than three years while he was in college, as well as other employees, some had worked there for several years to pay for their tuition. I haven’t been there for more than five years, since I moved to ATL. Prices are very reasonable and affodable. Staff are great and super friendly as well as very attentive, even though you’re a pain in the a$$, they still treat you nicely. ^_^

What attracted me to this place was that it was right next to the Asian Food Mart. One would think that being right next to the Asian market, the food here would have to be authentic. Well, yes and no. My wife and I ordered two dishes, and while the food was decent, the presentation was very un-Chinese. They serve it up in way that discourages sharing of food, which is what Chinese food is all about. Each order came out on a plate with a huge pile of fried rice and two«crab» rangoons. The fried rice was an odd choice – it was not fried up with egg or any veggies, just plain fried rice, as if there was some demand for extra unhealthy food. The crab rangoons were tasty, but again, seemed an odd choice. As for the dishes we ordered(garlic chicken and kung pao beef) they were tasty, but generally lacking in veggies. Since I had chosen Chinese food hoping to get some veggies(at times hard to find in the big O), that was disappointing. Next time, I will be sure to order a vegetable dish and see about substituting plain rice. As for décor, nothing to write about. They have been in business for 15 years or so, so I imagine they have the right formula for selling Chinese food in the mid-West.

While it’s appearance and location seem ordinary, OG is my favorite chinese food place in Omaha. The peanut butter chicken and sesame chicken are particularly awesome. The service for carry-out is fast and incredibly attentive for dine-in. Eat here.
