Just ate here today for the first time. I will never eat breakfast anywhere else again. Seriously. Enough said.

Very nice little place, staff was great. The food was just as good as everything looked and smelled. As many on here got the biscuits and gravy and she got the eggs Benedict. Both plates where wiped clean and oh yeah got the Nutella pop tart! Good lord! Only negative I feel you don’t get a lot of food for the money, small plates bit good.

Best breakfast spot in Omaha! The food is fresh and made to order. All of the ingredients are fresh and natural. They also have good coffee and homemade pop tarts. Excellent customer service and management. One of our favorite places in Omaha.

This was my first visit to Over Easy after hearing friends rave about it for years. I don’t get out to this part of town often so I was excited when it was near by for lunch. The place is very cozy and thought it would be larger due to its popularity. Luckily it was a slow day due to weather and I had no trouble getting a table. I had a hard time deciding what to order but landed on a corned beef hash; unfortunately the waitress informed me that they were out of corned beef! On one hand this is a good thing because they make it in house so quantities are limited, but when operating with a smaller menu I expect all of the items to be in stock. Instead I opted for the chicken salad and a side salad — both were good, nothing exceptional, but this place is known for their breakfast and not their lunch. In order to get a vibe on breakfast I ordered the hash brown rounders and they were exceptional. Based on that and the visuals of the breakfast coming out around me I would be happy to come back on a Sunday morning. Another plus on my visit was when I asked about the coffee grounds for sale by the lb and the waitress offered me a free glass to try it. Glad she did, as I took some home with me!

This place is busy for weekend breakfast/brunch. I was able to grab a seat at the counter and had a coffee in my hands right away. I had the cinnamon roll with brown butter which was good because of the butter. Otherwise, it seemed average. I ordered the crustless quiche which I had with a thick slice of whole grain toast. The egg bake was the smallest thing on the plate. It tasted great but if I didn’t have the cinnamon roll I might have walked out still hungry. There are a lot of things that sound great on the menu so I am sure I will be back to try more. I really like the décor of the place and the staff was very friendly.

Family was in town, and we decided to take them to one of our favorite spots. We ALL left disappointed. The sausage patties that I ordered with my biscuits and gravy were hard and cold. Dear husbands and nephews chicken and waffles were missing flavor and one dish had cold waffles. Nieces sandwich was barely warm. We started with two«pop-tarts» and one was even under cooked. I understand that this menu is new-ish but I miss the consistency of the«old» menu. Our server sensed out disappointment and did send us off with a pop-tart to go … but it too was undercooked. Sigh.

Our 5th visit to Over Easy will be our last. She has never been impressed and today our son and I agreed. I had eggs benedict. The asparagus was cold; despite confirming for the waitress that eggs poached soft(their«standard») was acceptable, they came out hard; Hollandaise sauce was tepid; the ham slices are served cold, which doesn’t make sense. Side order of pork sausage was tepid and very dry. Her chicken and waffles was really just chicken, because the literally ice-cold waffle was inedible. Rubbery and cold. His egg boat was cold and disappointing. Between the three of us, we’ve not had a visit to Over Easy where all us enjoyed our meals. Today was the second consecutive visit where none did. It won’t happen again.

Returned from Paris and where do we go for real American food? Over Easy! I had two eggs over easy. Good choice. Their«name» dish and it was great. A little cheese and tiny green things(onions?) made the difference from good to great. This time I had the bacon and while it is expensive, it is worth it. My daughter had an egg McMuffin type egg and cheese sandwich along with the hash potato rounds. Clever and delish sauces were on the side. She liked it very much and graded it high on her demanding scale. The rocket scientists from the restaurant reality show should rethink their decision as these dishes will scale. On the way out had a nice chat with Creighton coach Greg McDermott. I congratulated him on smashing the Corn to bits again this year. He was as gracious as ever and attributed the win to the players and his assistant coaches.

Really just an OK place. After indulging in a good amount of wine the night before we needed something good and hearty. Living downtown that could be found in a lot of little one off shops. Remembering a story about Over Easy having a vegan biscuits and gravy, we drove far West. Nearly to the other side of town with B&G on our minds. We had tried to call ahead to verify that it would be worth it. We should have just kept trying. The place was hardly full at all so we got a table quickly. We asked about the B&G and found out that they were NOT vegan. Well, shit. We should have known. Wifle got some veggies and has browns and I got the Vegetarian Breakfast Sandwich. It was not outstanding, but rather just OK. the whole trip was topped off by a higher than expected bill. Sadly, I don’t think I will be making the drive to go here again. I did like to see Dave Koenig’s art in yet another place here in Omaha

An eclectic mix of creative food! The ginger, shortbread flavored coffee was the feature that day: delicious. The nutella pop tart: amazing! Cinnamon roll with brown butter frosting: unbelievable! Good service/small restaurant. No «overflow» seating area. Quite crowded, about a 35 minute wait time around 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Corn beef hash: great, biscuits & gravy: great. I had bread pudding French toast. Delicious: unfortunately, not very hot when it arrived. Since it was bread pudding, quite«gooey» inside. It was done throughout, but I prefer a little less soft. This is worth another visit!

Cleanliness 4 Service 3 Food 4 Likelihood 3 1 – 5(5 Best!) 3.5 Breakfast for 4, first timers here! A friend was celebrating her birthday and we decided to try something local, and new. Over Easy it was. We all live East of 72nd, mostly mid-town area. So driving to 168th and Q at 7am on a Sunday, was something to be planned. I noted their open time on their website/Google Maps as 6am. We arrived shortly before 7am to find the CLOSED sign on the front door, and a sign that says openly daily at 7am. FUN! There was some intention about the design of the space, good job! Very pleasing to the eyes, many layers of color, texture, and elements that make you forget you are at a commercial restaurant. MENU. Many twists on industry and regional institutions… Their B&G is NOT made with meat, it is a vegetarian gravy. The regional/industry standard is not available.(This is normally my GO to plate, however I will pass on this.) We tried the cinnamon roll as a group appetizer. I expected a something a bit more hearty. I was good, and the topping was where the flavor was at. The roll itself was a bit dry(made the day before?) I think it was microwaved. It was not fresh. We ordered, we were the third table, and the only table waiting for food. I think that it took a little longer than I would have expected, I don’t mind waiting for great flavorful food. I got the chicken and waffles. ITWASINCREDIBLE! A unique design, the coriander-honey was a great option. Good job. I will have again one day. Overall the food was very flavorful, good, and mostly warm(not piping hot.) Worth the wait. The place is VERY clean. Restrooms A+, great job. Thank you. Service. For the small space that it is, I would have expected service that was MORE attentive. Our refills were only offered when we could flag someone down or if the order taker came to the table to bring food, or take order. The entire staff was not engaged in making eye contact with tables, they spent most of the their time huddled at counter or in expo. We will try it again, if we are out the way. The food is good. The service is good. Overall, it IS a good place. I would have hoped that as first timers the staff would have been more engaging, and taken the opportunity to connect with us and make us feel that supporting a local restaurant and business was worth our drive, money, and time.

This is a very nice, small, hip restaurant. It has a small menu but everything on it sounds great. I had the egg boat that was delicious. They were out of sweet potato tots so I had hash brown balls. My friend had the Chicken and Waffles which was great. We ordered a nutella pop tart that was way too sweet and pale looking for my taste. Staff was really nice but got lost a couple of times. I guess its understandable since it was so busy. Decoration is beautiful We waited about 20 min. Lots of parking space. They also have a drive thru. Coffee is pretty good.

Overall, I felt quite good about my trip to Over Easy. It’s basically between my doctor’s office and my work office, so my sweet husband and I stopped here after a heinously early doctor’s appointment. THEYHAVEGLUTENFREEBREAD. I REPEAT. GLUTENFREEBREAD. It also happens to be allergen free altogether. Which means… I can get a breakfast sandwich in the future!!! THRILLING! The quality of the food here is quite good. The sausage came in patties, not links, and wasn’t particularly flavorful or great. But the bacon was good, and you can tell that the ingredients are super freaking fresh. Things of note: no one came to check on us during our meal. Bummer. We didn’t need anything, but it would have been nice. I tried to order coffee at the beginning of my meal, but was informed that they only had heavy cream or whole milk… not even skim milk… and certainly no non-dairy options. So I just drank water :( If you have celiac, they do have some nice gluten-free options, but they will tell you upfront that there isn’t a dedicated gluten-free prep area, so beware of cross-contamination if you have a particularly sensitive stomach. I would definitely come here again!

Mmmmmm. I came here for a Sunday brunch with 6 other friends on our weekend trip to Nebraska before departing back to the airport. Had about a 40 minute wait. likely because of our party size and the place is relatively small, but it was completely worth it. Everything we got(dutch baby pancake, egg boat, nutella pop tart, egg’s benedict, over easy classic, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll with brown butter frosting, green machine smoothie— ya we like to eat) were amazing. Really good coffee too. The service was nice and quick. and they gave individual checks for everyone(!!!) I know that’s probably the norm but this always gets me super excited because any place in NY would give you evil glares and a lifetime ban with that request. Fabulous brunch with fabulous friends at a fabulous cozy place… definitely recommend.

The best breakfast place in Omaha, bar none. Their coffee is the best I’ve ever had. It’s from A Hill of Beans. I keep meaning to stop by their store to buy some. It doesn’t need any flavoring and tastes sweet when it’s served black. Over Easy makes incredible poptarts, my husband and I like to order one nutella and one featured flavor so we can have a little of both. I’ve gotten the biscuits and gravy on multiple occasions and love it so much I can’t bring myself to order anything else. The gravy is vegetarian and so good. They’re super friendly about order changes and scrambled my eggs for me with no problems.(They are supposed to come runny on the biscuits and gravy and I hate runny eggs.) The portions are big and there’s enough to take some home and enjoy later too. I could not imagine leaving this place hungry, or with anything other than a wonderful experience. The one thing to make sure to bring is your patience. The dining area is small and they don’t take call aheads so you will likely have to wait, and do so in a very small waiting area. It is totally worth it though, this food is GOOD!(And the one time we had a 40 minute wait they passed out cinnamon roll samples! So nice!)

I’ve eaten at Over Easy twice, gotten a breakfast sandwich and a side through the drive thru, and tried various menu items at tasting events. The service has always been pretty good and the restaurant itself is very bright and nicely decorated. I would recommend giving this place a try — the food is really good. Some of the food items I’ve tried and really enjoyed are their seasonal french toast(it was orange crème on this particular visit), the biscuits and gravy(the biscuits are awesome and the gravy is very flavorful for not having meat in it), the chicken and waffles(one of the best I’ve had), the potato rounds, the macaroni and cheese, and the plum pop tart with ginger glaze(this is their seasonal option). I’ve never tried anything from here I didn’t enjoy. Their drive thru is also pretty awesome. I believe they only offer limited options, but it is probably the best breakfast sandwich you can get through a drive thru. It takes a little longer than most drive thrus, but it is worth the extra wait for a high quality breakfast option. Their food is on the pricey side. On a recent visit we ordered two breakfast entrees, two potato sides, and a coffee, and our total was $ 40(including a 20% tip). I would definitely say it is worth the price, though, and is a great option if you want to splurge or mix up your typical breakfast spot. Their options are truly unique. You can’t find anything like it at other brunch places. They use high quality ingredients, put fun spins on classics, and offer several items you can’t find anywhere else(such as their home made pop tarts). I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you have more than four people in your party. The restaurant is not equipped to effectively accommodate large parties. They have tables that will fit larger parties, but the restaurant itself is small, they don’t take reservations or call-aheads(regardless of the size of your party), so the waits are long and their waiting area is smaller than my bedroom closet(literally). They make an effort to bring coffee to make the experience more enjoyable, but it was still one of the most unpleasant waits I’ve ever had at a restaurant. You end up sitting or standing on top of other people while you wait. We had a group of 7 on a recent visit and had to wait for 40 minutes, during which a verbal altercation broke out between a couple hangry individuals who were waiting… super awkward. If you have a smaller group you can get seated pretty quickly, though(when I was part of a party of two we only waited 15 minutes).

I’ve been wanting to try Over Easy because of the dutch baby. I’ve been obsessed with trying dutch babies… and I found a place in Omaha that made them soooo I hurried on over to Over Easy! The dutch boy was pretty taste… not as good as I had dreamed but still pretty tastey. It came with a homemade jam… OMGTHAT was delishhhh! The egg boat… DELIGHTFUL! So yummy and creamy. SOOOO good. The cinnamon roll… I would travel 30 minutes … which I did(from Bellevue)… to get to this place… The best best best best best best best best cinnamon roll my taste buds have ever met!!! The icing… is so light and tastey! I just LOVE it. Now, I’m craving a cinnamon roll is making me want to have another encounter with the CR! I’ll be back.

We decided to try Over Easy since we heard they prepare items using locally sourced foods, which to me = fresh. I was not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Service was friendly and décor was cozy and welcoming. I ordered the baked egg boat with bacon, egg, cheddar cheese, and green onion spread, served in a multi-grain french type bread. This was a very savoury and tasty dish; I’d definitely order it again. While waiting for our order, we saw other people eating delicious looking cinnamon rolls, so we decided to order a breakfast appetizer to share while we were waiting for our main entrées. I know it sounds greedy, but anywhoo, let me tell you! The cinnamon roll with the brown butter frosting was scrumptious and went perfectly with the yummy coffee. All around yum-yum, yummy!
