Food has always been good and consistent as we live in the area. However, the last time I stopped in to get my to go order I saw a cockroach on the wall. Will never eat there again and I have read other reviews stating the same thing.

Best Chinese food we have had in a very long time! How ever you have to get here… by car, truck, bus, limo, airplane, or helicopter… just get here. We have been here twice now: Once for carryout, and once to dine in. Both experiences were superb. I feel silly that I have driven by here a million times and just recently tried this restaurant. The staff is amazing. We have some special requests when we order Chinese food, and the two young ladies who work at the counter and wait tables were happy to accommodate us. They were very friendly, and the service was outstanding. The chefs are fantastic. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious, and I am not joking when I say it was ready in less time than it took me to order it! The food is high quality. The chicken in the Triple Delight(our favorite) is lean white meat, and the shrimp is cleaned and thoroughly cooked. The prices are good. Five of us ate two family-style meals, including lo mein noodles and fortune cookies, and we had two orders of four crab Rangoon(also excellent) for about $ 40. We will be regulars here for a long time to come. Great job, Rice Bowl staff and chefs!

I like it. Don’t love it, but I like it. There’s nothing special about it, but the food is always good, and hot, and portions are very adequate. I’m in the area a lot, so this is often where I stop for a quick bite.

Fast, inexpensive, great portions. Staff is usually very nice. Americanized Chinese food, but good.

Rice bowl seems to be a staple for many of my groups of friends. It has been around for a very long time. I am not sure what the calling to it is. The veggies are the best part of any meal you will get. Very fresh and cooked perfect. Good crunch to them. the sauces are meh” the meat’s are usually on the tough side. The crab rangoon is nothing to write home about. its a fast friendly place to stop in. I would love for it to be better but when put up against food of many other places it just does not make varsity or even jv

I loved Rice Bowl when I lived in downtown Omaha. Get the Yum Yum Chicken. Don’t think about it, just get it. You’ll thank me later.

Wait, I’ve never reviewed Rice Bowl? This place is a staple in Midtown Omaha. It’s where you go when you want some cheap and mediocre Chinese. The prices are average($ 7-$ 10 a meal). Your food comes out fast and piping hot whether you order carry out or opt to dine in. The parking lot is cramped and hard to maneuver in and out of thanks to the fast & furious drivers who constantly barrel down Saddle Creek Road. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Hawaiian Chicken special. This comprised of lemon chicken with pineapples, carrots and bell peppers. It was… mediocre Chinese. Rice Bowl is not my first or second choice for Chinese in this part of town, but I know it has a loyal following. One of their devote fans was even classy enough to leave a nearly-empty bottle of Hennessy sitting on the ashtray right outside the front door. Nice.

For the price, this is pretty danged good food! The dining room is small and not exactly«cutting edge» — but that’s why their prices are reasonable for such good food. Yep, I eat here frequently.

Not totally sold on the whole package here. It’s cheap. They give you insane portions of food. The place is old school in a good way. But, all in all, the food is just average and the place is not exactly the cleanest(I know, it IS a Chinese place) and the service is above average. If you’re in the neighborhood, check it out and have an assload of food for not a lot of money. Don’t make a special trip.

Staff is very friendly, food is great and by far the best hot and sour soup in Omaha! That soup definitely keeps me coming back! Hole in the looking place, but i like that feeling every once in awhile. Only downfall is no delivery service but think they are doing fine without it. Worth the drive wherever I am at. Keep it up

Let’s just say every time I drive by this place, me and my brother BOTH turn to each other and say: «Never again.» Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time two chinese kids got hungry for chinese food and said: «Hey, Let’s try Rice Bowl! I heard from my friends it was good.» Thus, the two chinese kids set off in pursuit of orange chicken and peanut butter chicken at a little old shack on Saddle Creek Road. Little did they know this food would be their downfall. The food tasted fine, good even. Not suspecting a thing, the two chinese kids went to bed content. Next thing you know its 1AM, I’m feeling nauseous and I’m running a fever. Oh no! I’m sick! *Le sigh* At 6AM my brother gets up as well and is also running a fever. Uh Oh. Musta been the darn food. After the entire weekend of being sick we finally recover. It was the damn food from Rice Bowl! Thus I have never set foot in here again. And when I found out this was an old Winchell’s it suddenly made sense why the fried chicken tasted like doughnuts. They probably didn’t change the fryers! Say it with me: EWWWWWW!

I went for a return visit and what a disappointment. Not fresh and meat was flavorless, beyond bland and bordering on tasting spoiled. The sauces tasted like they were jared and today they seemed a bit watered down. I guess I have to keep looking for consistently good combo fried rice elsewhere.

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in Omaha. It’s super quick(like 5 minutes, people), cheap(around $ 7/meal), and each order comes with rice and 2 crab rangoons. I order out from here a lot and my order is always waiting for me when I pop in. Bonus: The portions are really big — you could easily feed two people with one order! I recently had three friends over and we spilt three orders. It was way too much food — we should have only gotten 2 orders!

Cheap and quick stop whether sit down or to go. This evening ordered sweet and sour chicken and chicken wings. Entrees come with crab rangoon included. The entrée itself and the appetizers are what you’d expect from other quick sit down restaurants. The plus side is for to go orders, they’re quick and you’re in and out. Parking can be tight during busy hours and going southbound can be a nightmare at the wrong time of day.

Not that great! Sauces don’t have a fresh taste to me. It was a bit salty too. So that leads me to believe that the sauces are not homemade and are jarred or packaged! I’ve had way better Chinese food. There are too many other Chinese restaurants in competition for a Chinese place to just be ok! I also think they cut their onions too large and it overpowers the flavor!

The Peanut Butter Chicken is what everyone raves about here. I ordered the Yum Yum Chicken and it was very good and flavorful(but perhaps a bit salty). I was bummed that the General’s Chicken is only available in a family portion. Egg Rolls were okay. Most just your average egg roll. Nothing to get excited about and nothing to complain about either. Dining area is small. Most customers get their orders to go. Restaurant is clean and well-maintained. It’s a very old building and there’s no hiding that fact, but they keep it up well.

This is not a fine dining chinese restaurant. Yes it is small, yes it is cold in the winter, yes it is a little rough around the edges. But it is what it is — decent take out chinese at a fair price. Is it better than average — yes.
