Had the fish in a clay pot. Seems everything is better when cooked in a clay pot. Fish was perfect and had a devious sauce and texture. I am off to find me a clay pot…

Poor service, long lines at the entrance that don’t seem to move. Vietnamese Spring rolls were cold when we got them, poh beef ball soup was ok but I had better.

Whenever I am craving some delicious authentic Vietnamese food in Omaha, I go to one place, Saigon. Not to be mistaken with another local restaurant located downtown with a similar name… But this place is delicious! I have yet to be disappointed and the staff is the nicest! Every time I am craving food that reminds me of my parents’ cooking, I find myself coming here, even though it takes me about half an hour to get here. It’s SOWORTHIT! Their phở is tasty– not the best I’ve had but their other dishes make up more than enough. I particularly enjoy their Quang Noodle Soup, featured in the handout that comes with the menu. It has a rich broth that includes both seafood and meat. Super flavorful! Their other noodle dish that I actually found VERY delicious and VERY similar to home was their mi wonton soup! It was the bomb dot com! I am super excited that I found this place! And I will continue visiting this place as long as I still live in Omaha.

This place can definitely fool you from just looking at the outside of the building! Inside the décor is not what I expected and that’s not a bad thing. Very cute possibly could be a little romantic cozy jazzy feel to it. Speaking of jazz, I loved their music selection. The service was incredible. I’m not sure if we had one of the owners serve us or what. But he was super nice very helpful. I actually love Vietnamese food, but if you’re not familiar with it they’ll definitely guide you in the right direction here. He gave us a few samples! Food came out in a timely manner. Ordered shrimp spring rolls & crab ragoon for appetizers. I’m obsessed with both already. The peanut sauce for the rolls wasn’t to watery or thick just the right consistency. I tried the shrimp curry stir fry, very delicious with juicy shrimp with jasmine rice. Also order some plum sake, yes yes & yes! I’ll be going back sometime within the next few days if you really want to sum up my feelings for this place!

Great service, but the food was not great. The phở was bland, egg rolls were too sweet, and spring roll peanut dipping was watered down.

Had the spring rolls and the clear noodle phở w/meatball. The phở’s soup base and the ingredients were outstanding. Can’t wait to stop by hear again while driving through Omaha.

I first tried Saigon on the recommendation from a co-worker and was more than impressed. I’ve yet to have a bad meal or service and have made this restaurant a regular stop with friends and family. Service is super prompt but not intrusive. I tried the phở and was very pleased with both the quality and quantity — you can easily walk away full! The spring rolls are fresh and tasty as well, and the main entrees won’t leave you wanting either. My only complaint is that their soda comes in a can and doesn’t include free refills. If you’re looking for good, fresh Vietnamese food in West Omaha, I can’t think of a better place. Also a smart option if you’ve never tried Vietnamese cuisine.

Clean looking, comfortable seating, food is pretty good. I tried the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl and Vietnamese spring rolls. The spring rolls are good. Vermicelli bowl is just okay in my opinion. Kinda sparse on the chicken and they serve it layered with salad on the bottom, then noodles, then chicken, which I felt made it difficult to eat. I’d still probably come back because there aren’t many Vietnamese restaurants around and this one has good hours.

Nothing special. I ordered the vietnamese chicken noodle soup which was super bland. There wasn’t anything memorable about it. I also ordered the vermicelli bowl. That was average as well. The fish sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. The only thing that I liked was my strawberry smoothie that I ordered with bubba. The overall experience was okay. It is not great but bearable.

We had so yummy fish clay pot and a vermicelli bowl loaded with fresh ingredients and delicious sauce. Share a fish pot and a order of mixed vegetables in brown sauce — you won’t be sorry. Watch cooking shows and slow jam to sax solos. Friendly wait staff.

The outside hides a great restaurant and sleek decore inside. This is not your typical mom&pop old school Vietnamese restaurant. It almost felt like a asian fusion place rather than the DELICIOUS and AUTHENTIC Vietnamese place that it is. The food quality is outstanding. I got take out. I am IMPRESSED by the attention to detail” — The plasticware was the«more expensive» harder plastic spoons/knife/fork. — Even got some(asian) custard apple candies for desert — the Styrofoam containers were bottom double walled(done by hand) This makes for a leak proof and extremely sturdy container!!! The(mixed) fish sauce is very authentic and delicious. the peanut/hoisin sauce… did not have enough peanut taste and a bit salty They don’t have Banh Mi — i asked… The spring rolls with grilled pork… it is grilled pork sausage — not just grilled pork slices. The Beef«Luc Lac» salad with white rice was delicious. perfectly seasoned — on top of lettuce/pickled carrots/grilled onions — with(mixed) fish sauce

Another visit on the«Omaha phở trail» for me. I have been here a few times in the last 2 – 4 years but didn’t remember enough to write a proper review and add it to my Omaha/Lincoln phở adventures Unilocal list. The Saigon location is easy to find and there is ample parking in a private lot. There is a large scaling sign that says«Sagion– Great Vietnamese Food», which was either a hopeful omen or a for-sure overstatement. I would find out soon enough. Entering in, the restaurant opens up and there’s lots of seating-booths, round tables, and the bar. Décor is updated, and not the usual hole in the wall appearance that I have come to expect with a lot of family run places. There are a lot of Vietnamese people enjoying their meals quietly, which to me is a great sign. We sit down, and service is prompt and curt. No frills or whistles here but solid service. This isn’t your grandmother’s diner. We start with the crab rangoons– not asian in the least but it always intrigues the American side of our taste buds. Solid crab rangoons and sauce. Next up, the phở. I go with combo and he goes with large combo. The Phở also comes out in a timely manner and is steamy and aromatic-perfect right? While the noodles and the meat were excellent(tendon, meatball, brisket, flank in my bowl), the soup/broth fell short in my book. I thought that the broth was lacking flavor and was a little bland. This surprised me because the son of the owner also owns Saigon Surface and Saigon Bowl so I was expecting it to be the same recipe. I found that I actually like the Phở broth at the son’s two restaurants better. I do remember trying other things on the menu in the past and liking it, but with the proximity to my house, Saigon is probably not going to be on the top of the list for Vietnamese food and phở in general.

Inexpensive, frequent checks(a server comes to our table when the water is half way through empty), the beef I had with phở soaked up some taste of the soup so the entire time I was eating phở I enjoyed the taste. I was not just filling up my appetite. Also, their shrimp rolls and egg rolls are great too. In Asia they have egg rolls but calling it differently. In Japan where I come from, we call them Harumaki and have them with soy sauce or ponzu(mirin, rice vinegar, katsuobushi flakes from tuna and seaweed mixed). In the Philippines where my mother is from and I lived for years, they call Spring rolls Lumpia and use sweet chili sauce. Here, at Saigon, they served Egg rolls with fish sauce and it was great! We enjoyed the shrimp rolls as well. It comes with peanuts sauce and it was delicious. We’re definitely gonna go back again. The location is good. You have two different exits to take to get there and leave.

This was my 2nd time eating here and I just love it! It’s our best friend’s go to place and just yesterday I was craving the clay pot they have here! My boyfriend and I met up with his best friend and his gf last night and I knew I wanted to try the fish clay pot! I just wasn’t sure which one. The waiter suggested I try the curry one while Amy tried the regular fish clay pot both for $ 10.95. They each come with steamed rice. We tried each others and they were both on point! Lots of flavor and generous amounts of fish and fried potatoes. I loved it! My boyfriend ordered the calamari and crab Rangoon and the calamari was cooked to perfection! No rubbery texture, just grand calamari! The crab Rangoon was also delicious! He enjoyed the grilled onion fish which you can request rice paper to make your own rolls! I tried a roll he made for me and the fish did not taste fishy! It was grilled perfectly allowing the taste of the fish come through yet having that smokey grilled taste throughout each bite you took. It was yummy on its own and in the rice paper roll with the veggies they provide. I’m already looking forward to the next time we can go. The meals are reasonable, generous, and service was great. They refilled our waters about 4 times, I think we were all dehydrated. Enjoy Saigon soon, you will love it!

Hmmmm, where to begin… Everything there is soooo good. I’ve been here at least 20 times and I’ve never had a bad meal! My favorites are the bbq vermicelli, spring rolls, and the tilapia clay pot!

I ordered the fish curry, and it tasted like they used a beef broth, yuck. The menu selections are limited to american tastes, hey why don’t we just add ketchup to everything because that is what kind of restaurant this is. I mean they put imitation French fries bought from any grocery store into the curry substituted for potatoes. Come on, really! Double disgusting and cheap. I’ll never go back there ever. If you don’t want to waste you money or spoil your taste buds, then don’t go here.
