Sonic Drive-In

I like Sonic, and this one is a good one. Not all of them are. Food is good for fast food. Staff are not terriblly friendly, but they are efficient. And they keep the premises clean. I like that because to me that means the kitchen is likely clean, too, since outside is often overlooked at places like this.

I’ve been to this location a lot this summer for their slushies. Very refreshing and lots of flavors to choose from. We usually have a pretty good experience. The customer service is never that friendly and the lines are slow most of the time, but the drinks are always great. (Don’t waste your time on the food in my opinion, it all tasted like grease. Just grease. It coats your tongue it’s so much grease. Did I mention all I tasted was grease?) Any who. Me and the family went here about a week ago, I ordered the same slushie I always get. (Lemon berry slush with nerds candies) my husband and son also ordered a slush.
Once we got the drinks and drove away, I was on it to put in the straws and hand them out accordingly. My husband’s was fine. My son’s was fine. I took a drink of mine when we were back on maple heading home. I tasted nothing! I opened the lid and it was pure white! This drink is usually very red and you can see nerds and strawberry chunks throughout. My husband turned around and went back through. The guy who took our order the first time came outside so we didnt have to wait in the very long line again, which was nice. He handed us the new slushie and we drove away.
This one was better but still was lacking in flavor. I dont know if they were running out of the ingredients to make it how it should be made or what? Needless to say I wasnt very pleased with either drink I was given that day and did not finish my drink. When we got home I checked my son’s and his wasn’t very well made either. It had barely any syrup in it and it looked like it needed to be mixed together because there was pure white ice that had no flavor throughout. I would come back again because this is their first real mess up with us, but if it happened again I would not return.

Service is slow. We may have been only a few cars in the lot and it took them way to long to get us our food. Also the service was poor. But the food will always be good it is freaking sonic.

I don’t mind Sonic in general; when it’s good, it’s really good, when it’s bad, it’s…okay…it’s usually a total crapshoot. But this location sucks. I got the surliest, most unfriendly carhop ever (carhop just sounds like it should be friendly, yes?) for one thing, and is two mozzarella sticks standard for an order of mozzarella sticks? Because I got two mozzarella sticks for $ 3 and they forgot the marinara sauce. Kind of a waste of the effort to get there.

This used to be the such a good place to eat, if you wanted a footlong, a great cheesburger, fries, rings, it was very similar to The Kings restaurants of long ago. It still has very good ice cream, but come on, how hard it is to mess that up?

For fast food it is ok. It’s no In-​N-​Out Burger, but it is better than Wendy’s. The Limeades are great, and their Happy Hour special makes it a great deal. I’m not sold on the tot’s, they can be hit or miss. The new sweet potato ones need salt. Make sure to ask for it. My complaint is the crowd of kids that just got a car that hang out there. Management seems ok with them. But they are loud, annoying, and don’t look before backing up. Look people! Skip the warm evenings and you should miss most of them.
