Hole in the wall place. It’s tiny but roomy enough for four booths and three communal tables. I had low expectations after eating New Mexican food. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The tacos had unbelievable flavor. Add a squirt of lime and homemade hot sauce — out of this world! They have tongue, cheeks, carnitas, carne asada, ground beef, chicken, shrimp and tripe. Taco carnitas is my favorite dish. My friends like the tongue. It’s surprisingly tender. The owner was our waitress. She was friendly. I have not experienced negative customer service here.

We have gone several times to Taqueria Los Compadres for dinner. Today we were there for lunch. As usual, the service was excellent and the food authentic. We had chips and guacamole to start. Both the guac and the chips were fresh. I had the fajita mix dinner and my fiancé had the taco dinner. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely keep coming back.

Walked in on Friday at 12:08 p.m., two other tables were being occupied. The manager-looking lady was in the middle of ripping the server a new one. It was painful to pretend to not watch. The manager-looking lady looked at me and said, «yes?»…I responded that I was just here for some lunch. She hastily handed me a menu and told me to sit down. I sat and waited while she continued her verbal tongue-lashing on this server… and I waited and waited. FINALLY: she released him from his scolding and he came to my table. Nice kid, I felt bad for him. You should not get berated in front of customers, it’s just awful. During the time of the server and my exchange, the manger-looking lady dagger-eyed me. I really do not know what her deal was, it was extremely uncomfortable. I put my order in and again, wait and wait and wait. The server comes out and seriously asks me what I ordered. There are two other tables with people and ONE of the tables has their food already. I told him what I ordered, and waited and waited and waited. Dagger-eyed manager lady is no where to be found. I am done waiting. I am hungry and certainly did not feel like I meant much to this place. I simply got up and walked out. Please know: I was drinking water so there was no balance that needed to be paid. I drove back to work and ate microwave popcorn that was more welcoming than Taqueria Los Compadres could ever be. Ridiculous.

For Monday dollar tacos, this place is awesome! The food is consistently good and the house salsa is spicy and good. Chips and tomato salsa are good too though the salsa may be a bit mild for my taste, but this can be fixed by mixing the hot stuff right in there. Only recommendation would be to add liquor!

Had the shrimp tostada with the future Chairwoman of the Federal Reserve(Santa Clara ’17). See photo. In addition to being an expert on the Phillips Curve, she also is an expert on rice. The rice passed the elasticity and taste test. The Monday 99 cents tacos are a real inflation killer. Music remains too loud for this small space.

I stopped in here for lunch on a Tuesday in March. It’s a full service restaurant, so you can sit down and order from a waitperson or order takeout at the counter. I believe this is the same location that Wingstop and then Zemog’s used to occupy. Complimentary chips and salsa were good. The salsa is made in-house and a bit spicier than what you’re probably used to getting served with chips. The first basket of chips is complimentary, but after that they charge you for additional baskets. I find that annoying, but it’s common at small private Mexican restaurants. I ordered the Bistek Ranchero for my main course. It was very good. It’s beef and onions served in a flavorful(and slightly tangy) red sauce. You get tortillas(flour or corn) to eat it with and it’s served with beans and rice. Overall, a very tasty dish. I’ll definitely order it again. I also ordered al pastor(marinated pork), lengua(beef tongue), and cachete(beef cheek) tacos. I thought the taco meat was kind of bland. It was easy to remedy as they are served with lime and their hot salsa. So, a squeeze of fresh lime juice and generous portion of their house-made hot sauce and they were good to go. Still, I’d like to have a bit more flavor on the meat right out of the kitchen. Perhaps that’s just the gringo in me. The lengua and cachete were both very tender and had great beef flavor, but I’d have like a little more dimension to it. The al pastor was good, but I’ve had much more flavorful al pastor/adobada at other taquerias. Iced tea was horrible. It’s from concentrate and comes out of a fountain and I think their concentrate to water ratio is out of adjustment. Next time I’ll order ice water. I was pleased to glance back into the kitchen and see a bowl of fresh limes and a fresh avocado they had just halved. It’s always reassuring to see fresh produce in a kitchen rather than a rack full of #10 cans and a freezer full of boxes. Service was friendly, but spread a little thin. Still, they kept up with the rush well enough. They do not have enough seating. The unit they rent is just too small to accommodate their weekday lunch rush. I suppose if you’re a business owner that’s a good problem to have. It certainly beats an empty dining room at lunch rush. They’re doing a good amount of business despite Abelardo’s being just a block away. Unfortunately, while I was dining a couple of customers chose to go elsewhere because there was nowhere for them to sit. They have a sidewalk patio, but it has no tables or chairs. They prefer you spend at least $ 10 if you plan on paying with a credit/debit card. Restaurant is clean and well-maintained.

Ok so I relocated here from Sioux City, Iowa and there’s a taqueria up there, La Juanita(read Unilocal reviews), that’s very hard to compare to. This place is right up there. I devoured my pastor and asada tacos and came right to Unilocal. The hot sauce is amazing and bursting with flavor. Pastor tacos are off the hook. My kids generally don’t like authentic Mexican and they inhaled the ground beef tacos(3 for $ 5.50…what a steal can barely do Taco Bell for that!). Everything about this place is spot on and I haven’t had anything in Omaha that even compares so far. Friendly service, great prices and wonderful food. I highly recommend and have found a new favorite for authentic Mexican in Omaha. Will be back and back again!

Best prices and service in town. Very nice and welcoming staff. Very speedy service and delicious food. $ 1 Monday Tacos are the best and there carne Asada fries. Highly recommend this to anyone. Perfect to go on a lunch break

Really good authentic Mexican food, seemed really awkward though. When I walked in the lady said«What do you want?» Well I guess I want FOOD!!! Lol. I said I would like to dine in. She pointed at a booth and I sat down. She then proceeded to come over ask what I would like with no menu or anything. I asked for a menu and proceeded to scan it over. I ordered two tacos; tripas and chorizo, and an asada torta. As I looked around I see most tables getting chips and salsa, but not me. Maybe you have to ask or it could be complimentary, who knows at this point. Came out quickly with and was truly great food. But I had no napkin or silverware and had go up and ask for it. I’m sure I’ll try again and it could have been an off day. The food is good though.

Food was incredible authentic! Really liked the ranchero plate, if you don’t like spicy don’t order this. This meat with chipotle sauce it’s delicious but also spicy.

I love, love, love all of the options for tacos at this cute little restaurant! Lengua, cheek, carnitas, carne asada, chorizo, etc. are all good, but the lengua is my favorite. The chorizo had the least flavor when I tried it, which was surprising. The tacos are small but at $ 1.50 each I cannot actually complain. The service has always been spectacular, no matter if I’m dining in or taking out. The dining room is small’ish but it’s a cute space!

Hand down the BEST Mexican food in Omaha. Try the Carnitas, it is to die for. And the taqueria sauce is both it and tasty. Very well done and excellent service as well.

Pretty small place so don’t plan on bringing every co-worker here over lunch. Delicious homemade tortilla chips(they didn’t get an order of corn tortillas the day we visited but the flour replacements were delicious as well) and chunky fresh guacamole. The carne asada fries are a good value for the price($ 7.50) and big enough to save some for a later snack if you aren’t starving. They don’t have very many people working there at any given time so be prepared for a bit of a wait but the food is worth a repeat visit.

I wanted to give a better rate because the food was pretty good. The problem was they are under staffed. The manager was doing the best she can but she was the only one waiting tables & working the register so she could only do so much. Either way she was nice & did her best to provide a good service.

Solid Mexican food in this neighborhood! I would compare it to Abelardo’s in the next shopping center over. The staff was really personable and my burrito was out within minutes– perfect since I was on a tight lunch break. It’s a simple lunch and dinner stop, perfect for a quick meal or take out after a long day. My lengua burrito didn’t wow me too much – also as a tip you have to specify you want rice inside or it’ll be beans and meat only. At $ 5.50, I wasn’t too upset about that. Since I live closer to South Omaha anyway, this will not likely be a frequent stop for me!

Really good food. Decided to try them out instead of Abelardos which is right up the block and we are happy we did. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the owner is very personable.

Extremely welcoming and courteous staff and waitress’ made for a very nice visit right from the moment we walked into the door of this small and unassuming«Taqueria». This place definitely has some delicious items — my Husband’s chimichanga was stuffed and fried to perfection and my chicken nachos were piled high with toppings. The complimentary chips and salsa were great, however their hot sauce(in the squeeze bottle) is absolutely spicy and divine! A real treat for delicious about-as-close-as-you’ll-find-authentic, Mexican food that reminded me of back home in San Diego.

Outstanding! We stopped here a few weeks ago on what happened to be taco night(Mondays)! It was perfect. Only $.99 each and you can choose what kind of meat you want on them… and they have quite a few choices, 8 – 10 from what I remember. We started out with Chips and Salsa which was good. But basic, nothing memorable about either which was fine. My brother decided to get 4 tacos(they are small) – Asada, Chorizo and 2 Carnitas. They are very authentic – no cheese or tomatoes on these. Just cilantro, a bit of onion and a lime to squeeze on top. My brother really enjoyed them all but said the carnitas was his favorite. I had been on a bit of a taco binge lately, so I went completely out of my comfort zone for Mexican food and ordered the Chicken & Chipotle. It was sliced chicken in a creamy chipotle sauce with a good amount of heat. It came with rice, beans and tortillas. This was seriously so good. I would never think to get a «cream sauce» at a Mexican restaurant, but I am happy I tried it! Good spice level, well-cooked chicken and I may have tried to lick my plate when no one was looking. The only down-side was the service was sub-par. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived – it is fairly small(10 – 12 tables) and almost completely full when we left… Yet there seemed to be only 2 people working. A cook and a waitress. Of course I didn’t hold it against them, but I would have to assume its their busiest night considering the $.99 tacos… maybe hire someone for Mondays? Regardless, I will be back.

So far I am digging this place. It is fairly new and occupies the same space where Zemogs used to be(and way better than Zs). The tacos are $ 1.50 for any meat. Best way to describe these are mini street tacos. Double 4 inch corn tort, meat, cilantro, and onions. On my first visit I ordered the Carnitas Burrito and it was pretty tasty as well and packed with pork. The same woman has been at the counter both times. I am not sure but I think she is the owner and is very nice.

New favorite place for Mexican in my neighborhood. Great food, similar in vein to Abelardo’s and D’Leon’s. However, you can tell the ingredients are a little better here, and this place does cost comparatively more as a result. But worth it to me. Very small dining room, maybe 6 or 7 tables, don’t bring a huge group. But they make your order up very fast to go. Only complaint is they are only open till 9. Hopefully that changes as I generally eat dinner later than that.
