The Bike Way

This, I’d hoped, would be a quick visit to get a spoke repaired on my kid’s BMX bike. When I brought it to the technician, he looked at it, said it’s a more complicated repair than I would expect and the wheel was probably out of true. He gave it a test spin, and it turned pretty well, broken spoke and all. Then he examined it closed and said the reason the nipple broke was because the rim was cracked and showed me… except the crack was merely a scratch from where the broken spoke had caught the rim. Then after an explanation of how replacing the part would likely cause problems with then wheel integrity and that it would be best to replace the whole rim, I thanked him and left. Now if we were discussing a multi-​thousand dollar bike and not the 15-​year old $ 100 bike my 11 year old plans on riding, I’d understand. But let’s be realistic, I needed a part that was probably a few dollars, hell if I knew the correct size I could buy 50 for six bucks on Amazon. I just wanted to fix my son’s bike for him. If the Bike Way won’t do it, I’m sure there are a number of other places in town that will.

Stopped by on my bike ride across the country; The Bike Way took into account the distance I was riding, and helped me out tremendously. Thank you!

Have gotten tune-​ups for the family bikes the last two years — which let me ride with confidence and safety.
Recently stopped in for a repair — thinking I would have to drop off the bikes — but got on-​the-​spot help from the friendly tech in the shop. Great!

Knowledgable sales staff that patiently answered all my questions — even the ones that I asked them to repeat.

I’ve always received very polite greetings and good advice when I am in there seeking parts or tools. The employees are quite knowledgeable and have taken a fair amount of time to search for things that they may or may not have that would be suitable for my needs. No job too small, and no question too dumb.

the best bike shop in town! Come here to get whatever you need for your ride, or just hang out! Trevin’s always eager to help with whatever bike-​related project you’re working on. I’m sad that I havn’t found a shop as good as this on the west coast. Even though they have a TON of bikes and brands, there’s no used car salesman feel like at the big bike shops in town.(what can we do to get you into a bike TODAY?)
