Foods decent and pricey! Service sucks. Would recommend Maharaja Indian restaurant over this, it has more variety, good tasting, good price and great service.

If I were rich, I would eat here all the time. But I’m not so I can’t. The food is amazing but way too damn expensive hence the four star rating. I realize Indian food in general seems to cost a pretty penny but there are other more affordable Indian restaurants. Overall, I’d recommend it for the once-in-awhile treat. Unless you’re rich. Then eat here all the time.

The Jaipur is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Omaha. Every experience I have had here has been absolutely top-notch. The owner/manager is extremely professional, classy, kind, and friendly to patrons. Every server I have had has been beyond helpful and kind during my entire meal. I cannot say enough good things about The Jaipur!

Food is good, but portions are getting smaller every time we go. Also, the customer service is terrible! The manager is the most rude individual I have ever dealt with at a restaurant. He refused to accept our Groupon because it was a Holiday. There is no reference to not being able to use the voucher on a Holiday. In fact, we called the day previously to double check that we would be able to use the voucher and were told«yes.» He proceeded to say that his employees would not have told us that. So he is basically calling us liars. Fine way to treat your customers! We are fairly regular customers who will NOT be returning to this establishment because of the treatment & accusation of lying. I can get the same meal at a better price & larger portions at an establishment that actually appreciates their customers.

Love their food. Spinach naan and mulligatawny soup are tasty and always our starters. Salad’s good. Saag and tandoori are some of my favorite dishes. Wife likes shrimp and wheat beer. Sometimes she says the beer is flat. That’s why a 4. The happy hour is s great deal on TH Fr and Sat.

The Jaipur is one of my favorite spots in Omaha! From unique flavors and quality traditions to home brewed beers and a wide wine selection, The Jaipur has a lot to offer. I started out with the Mulligatawny soup and loved the subtle crisp flavors of lentil and lemon. I also ordered the house brewed Wheat Beer and loved the distinctly sweet and wheaty flavors! For my meal, I ordered the Thimpu chicken, Jasmine rice and garlic naan. It. Was. To. Die. For! The jasmine rice was fresh and aromatic. The garlic naan was not skimpy on the garlic! I loved it! So often there is just a tiny amount of garlic! But the soft dough was full of garlic treasures! The chicken Thimpu was incredible! The grilled boneless chicken was doused in a flavorful cream sauce and tossed with grilled cauliflower. It was incredibly unique! I ate well passed being full because I couldn’t get enough of it! Not to mention the fact that our server, Bob, was very sweet, kind and helpful! Tons of kuddos to Bob for being bright, chipper and smiling on Christmas Eve! This restaurant is upper scale compared to other Indian cuisine restaurants, so the prices are a bit higher. But it is definitely worth it! Another outstanding factor was my mom’s salmon. It was incredible and artfully displayed! Fantastic job, The Jaipur, for creating a fabulous dining experience!

Very mediocre food. Tried the chicken tikka korma– tasted like bland chicken in tomato sauce. The rice was well cooked and okay. Appetizers were mediocre as well. All in all, nothing stood out and you can get a lot better Indian food in Omaha for a lot less money. The ambiance is good and the service was attentive as well. I wish I had read the comment from the owner below before giving this place my business. Bragging that their food doesn’t cater to «Indians who just came here» and calling Indian food«oily and unnecessary spicy» is the most unprofessional comment I’ve seen on Unilocal from an owner. First of all, India is a vast county which many different types of cuisine. Portraying all Indian food as «oily and too spicy» is an uneducated comment from someone who supposedly runs an Indian restaurant. Furthermore, bragging that your Indian restaurant only caters to a bland palette seems like shooting yourself in the foot by admitting that your food is not at all authentic. You are also saying that Indians raised here can only handle«unauthentic» food– way to put down your customer. I will not be going to this place anymore and will not recommend it to any one either. You have lost my business. I am not Indian but putting down the food that you draw inspiration from is disrespectful and totally unnecessary.

Consistency good, Service good, a lot of flavor. Every dish I’ve had here has been good. The chutney wonderful. All the breads great. Even the plain naan. Jalapeño beer great. Wine selection good. Atmosphere could be updated but fine I would def recommend to anyone in the area looking for Indian.

Oh my goodness! This meal hit the spot. All of it was fresh & tasty. The mulagatawny soup was smooth with a nice spice. If I lived here this would be a resturaunt on my «go to often» list!

OMG — love this place! We have been eating here on and off for years. We are always treated like we are their BEST customers. The food is always PERFECT. The patio is great weather permitting. And, the jalapeño beer with a spicy dish — great.

Not only do they make some of the best Indian food I’ve had, the service is impeccable. This is always the place I choose for special occasions; when I’m not in the mood to «experiment» with newer restaurants or wanting to take a chance on a potentially crappy experience. The last time we were there, they opened the patio area with zero issues. I’ve been to places where we’re told that there’s no server outside or that they aren’t «ready» for outdoor seating yet. I believe it was the manager who helped to set everything up; adding a place setting for each and every outdoor table, lighting, flower vases, etc. We’ll keep coming back. Jaipur has always been consistent; great food, service and attitude every single time we’ve been in for 5 years now. –ps– The jalapeño beer is amazing. Also love the Raita, Chicken Tikka and mustard-y salad dressing(among many other things.)

I had been wanting to stop in here for years, but something always kept me away. The first time was about 10 years ago when the company I was working for had some consultants visiting from India. The owners took them out to Jaipur and I was told they were appalled at what they were served. Then. after a few years, that story worked its way to the back of my memory and I started thinking about giving this place a try. However, I had a conversation with a coworker who happened to be Indian and asked him where his family liked to eat and he made it a point of saying«not Jaipur!» So, I avoided the place a while longer. About a year or so ago I tried Tanduri Fusion and really liked it. I was told their chef used to work at Jaipur. I figured if Tanduri Fusion was so good and the same guy developed the recipes at Jaipur then Jaipur must be pretty good too. So, finally, after a decade of putting it off I decided to give it a try for lunch on a Thursday in August. I had Mulligatawny Soup for only the second time ever. The first time I didn’t care for it as it tasted like a horrible attempt at lemon juice soup. However, the version I got at Jaipur was much better. It’s still not a favorite food of mine, but I found Jaipur’s much more palatable. I’ve tried both the Chicken Tikka Madras and the Chicken Korma. The Chicken Tikka Madras had a good flavor but the sauce looks almost pink. I’m just not used to eating pink food that isn’t a dessert. I would adjust the color of this if I were them. However, as I said, it was very tasty despite the comical color. The Chicken Korma was also good. Neither were as spicy as I am used to getting in most Indian restaurants. That certainly makes it more of a crowd pleaser and you can request it hotter if you would like. Their naan is very good. Just the right texture and size with a delicious flavor. The cilantro chutney they serve it with is very tasty. I could just eat the naan. All day. Every day. Om nom nom… Service was excellent. Very attentive, very friendly, and very professional. The manager even stopped by my table to make sure I was enjoying my food. After more insight into Indian food in America I learned that much of what we call Indian food and much of what is served in Indian restaurants is actually British Indian food. India was once a part of the British Empire and the British businessmen and soldiers that spent time there fell in love with the local flavors. When they returned to the UK they craved those same flavors. So, the Indian immigrants in the UK obliged them as much as possible by making dishes inspired by Indian flavors but not necessarily authentically Indian. These dishes, like the popular Chicken Tikka Masala, are what we know as Indian food today. So, it is of no surprise that the people I spoke with who were raised in India do not consider that type of food to be authentically Indian and are turned off by it. Lunch entrées are about $ 11 and dinner entrées are around $ 16. You can save 20% by bringing in the receipt from your last visit(must be within last 60 days and not valid on Saturdays or Sundays). They also serve beer that they brew. The IPA is decent. They also have a Jalapeño Beer that is popular, but I didn’t care much for it. I think it could use a spicier finish(more capsaicin) and the jalapeño flavor(flavor of the pepper minus the heat) is too overpowering. I’m glad I finally gave it a try. I like their food and love their service and will definitely be back. Restaurant is very cliché Indian décor complete with tigers and elephants. However, that’s what most people are probably expecting in the back of their minds, so they might as well cater to them. It is a nice place inside and upscale in a Rockbrook Village sort of way.

Enjoyable dinner last night at Jaipur, our first restaurant foray with our new addition. Half the customers were on the patio so we hoped he wouldn’t be too much of a distraction inside, and he wasn’t. The star of the show was Grilled Shrimp Biryani, a special not on the menu. Our server explained why it was different(and better) than the Jhinga Biryani on the menu. Glad I went with it! Very tasty. Trish ordered Chicken Tikka, her(former) go-to dish at Jaipur. Once she had a taste of the Biryani she lost interest in the Tikka, which was bland in comparison. Naan and mint chutney were also very good.

I think that this is the best Indian food that you will find in the metro! I have been here a number of times and this time might have been the best. I ordered the garlic naan which was ok but the sauce was sweet and tangy. My entrée was the Thimphu chicken. Order the Thimphu chicken! The sauce was rich yet light and had perfect flavor. Great spot in a good location. HINT: Order a smoothie.

For some reasons, I want to love it. For others, I just can’t and it has to be simply a-ok. For the love: Well, it’s an Indian Brewpub! That makes me happy as I love Indian food and breweries so it’s an uncommon, unexpected, but awesome combination! The mulligatawny is great. Since it’s so pricy here, I always go for something like lamb that usually tends toward the more expensive side of the menu. I love lamb and I have no complaints about the quality of the lamb here. I am a huge fan of jalapeño ale and theirs does not disappoint. The raspberry beer is pretty refreshing, the rest is standard. The ok: The naan is fine. It’s not the best I’ve had. I like a really chewy, bubbly, but still a bit crispy naan. It’s just ok here, and at nearly $ 4 for garlic naan and $ 2.50 for a piece of plain naan… sad. With the prices(see below) as they are, I’d expect a slice of naan included. But I can’t have Indian food without naan, so I go for it. Always. For the not-so-love: I really don’t mind paying nearly $ 20 for a dinner, especially if it ranks high on my flavor/quality-to-price ratio. Well-seasoned, delicious food is worth the money you spend. But I don’t find that the desirable tastiness-to-price ratio is met here. It really seems like they make the food purposely bland for American tastes. I’ve only ordered vindaloo and madras(spicier dishes) and I’ve always been given an «it’s spicy» warning… but I didn’t find it all that spicy. Maybe I’ll ask for«Indian-level spicy» next time… has anyone had luck with that? In the end, I go when I can get discounts(which they generously provide on the checks, I believe it’s a 10% discount if you bring your bill back within the next few months) and when there are deals out there. Otherwise, it’s just too expensive and not satisfying enough for an Indian craving. So, I’m still searching for *my* to-go Indian place here in Omaha.

Been on an Indian food kick for the better part of a year now, whether it’s jar sauces from T.J. Maxx’s food section(they’re actually pretty damn good, guys) or Mother India for a quick lunch at work, I can’t get enough of the stuff. Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Korma… Mmmm. Delicious. Checked out the Jaipur for a work function this past weekend and was pretty excited to try a new place. Waitstaff was ridiculously friendly, attentive and helpful(especially wit the wine selection). We had an awesome cabernet sauvignon and a malbec that complemented our meal nicely. Ordered Garlic Naan but regular naan came out. We didn’t correct it mostly because we were all so hungry. I ordered the Fish Masala and LOVED the sauce. The tuna was lightly battered and fried but far too overcooked. It was fresh, though. No fishy taste at all, but it seemed a shame to take such a nice portion of tuna and serve it so dry. The sauce, of course, helped, and I devoured the dish regardless. Price? Wow. Pretty expensive. $ 18.95 for my dish. Again, wow. Hate to say that I probably wouldn’t come back on my own because it just doesn’t quite fit my cost-to-value index metric. Mother India remains my first choice, but there are a lot of other Indian restaurants to try…

Jaipur(aka Jaipur Brewing Company) has it all. An extensive menu, with fusion items and traditional Indian fare, somewhat upscale atmosphere, patio(even if it does open out to a parking lot), and the best tiger battle mural I’ve ever seen. Plus, it’s a brew pub. If you’d adventurous, definitely try the jalapeño beer. If not, they have others… wheat, IPA, raspberry wheat and some special occasion styles(pale ale, nut brown, porter and stout). Sharing is encouraged, if you’re not feeling too hungry and want to maximize your dollar-to-taste ratio. The menu offers a selection of ‘Chef’s Special’ items, such as Papadum Shrimp, Indian Crab Cakes, Spinach Dip, Tandoori seared top sirloin, Grilled Ribeye(obviously with the alcohol and beef options Jaipur is in a bit of a unique position compared to other Indian restaurants in town) and Pad Jaipur. I’ve never sampled any of these items so can’t comment on them, but they’ve always drawn my eye. The things I seek out are generally the same… my favorite Naan in town, Mulligatawny Soup, Samosas, Mango Laasi, Chicken Tikka Korma, Saag Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, Mixed Vegetable Curry.(While we’re on the topic of vegetables, it’s worth mentioning that the Vegetarian Menu isn’t as extensive as I’d expect coming from an Indian Restaurant). Another item worth mentioning is that Jaipur is on the higher end of cost for Indian restaurants, but not by a huge margin. And another favorite, Thimpu Chicken… «A great specialty from the royal kingdom of Bhutan. Boneless chicken cooked with cauliflower in a light creamy sauce». I don’t know what it is about this dish, but it’s not served everywhere, so if you acquire a taste for it be ready to accurately describe it to other restaurants(who can reproduce it) in a pinch. All of that should be enough to stuff you with some leftovers to spare. Then, also don’t be afraid to grab a small spoon of Mukhwas on your way out the door(the stuff in the small bowl that looks like a spice blend).
