I love this salon! I had a stylist move out of omaha and I was devastated. UNTIL I met Nikki at Turning Heads! I went from brunette to red and I get so many compliments on how beautifully the color blends! I definitely recommend her!

I went to Turning Heads today for a shampoo and blow dry, and was underwhelmed by the salon. The salon looked like it could use some TLC. As you can see in the photo I posted, the ceiling looked stained and pretty rough. The floor in the waiting area could use a good sweeping… twigs, pebbles, dirt, etc. littered the tile. The wash tubs, chairs, and stations are outdated and worn. It sounds picky, but this industry is all about aesthetics. When I go to a salon, I want to spend time in a comfortable modern place that reflects how current and relevant the business and stylists are. Despite my disappointment with the salon itself, my stylist did a really nice job. She gave a nice, firm scalp massage while she washed my hair. She seemed to take her time and wasn’t trying to rush through the service. She was pleasant and warm, and talked about her life and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me. She did a really nice blowout and listened to what I asked for in terms of styling… I loved how it looked.

I have done lash extensions, mani/pedis, massage and spray tan at this salon. I have always had excellent experiences. I had lash extensions done for my wedding and when I explained my timeline they asked the girl if she would come in early to do my appointment. She agreed! And it was wonderful. I got many compliments on her work and they looked lovely for my wedding. Mani/pedis have all been pretty standard, but well executed. I had an excellent massage from Carrie, and would recommend her to anyone. Mary and Korbyn also come highly recommended for spray tan services.

Spa Pedicure Special? I think not. Went in and asked the receptionist for two pedis. Mid-sentence she answered the phone and blew us off for at least 5 minutes. Her nails looked awful so I’m not too bummed we turned and walked out.

I got my hair cut here, twice, so I can’t speak to any of their other services. For the services I received I was not impressed, especially with my last hair cut. My stylist was nice and prompt, which I appreciate, but she wasn’t very helpful or skillful. At my first appointment I came in unsure of what I wanted, looking for someone I could bounce some ideas off of. She had nothing. I had to tell her what my previous stylists had said about what works for me. I wanted someone who can work with, I’ll tell you what I’m like, my routine, what I’m comfortable doing, that way you don’t give me a haircut that I’m not comfortable maintaining. She just wanted me to bring in a picture. What if I brought it a picture that wasn’t going to work for my hair or face shape? None of this seemed to even occur to her. I had her do a basic cut with some layering which I was only kind of ok with. She spent most of the first appointment trying to sell me on expensive salon products. Look, I have a routine. I use what I do for a reason, which you don’t seem to be listening to. It was really annoying. I understand that she probably gets commission, but when I directly indicate that I am not interested, knock it off. I went to the second appointment because I thought, what the hell, it doesn’t look that bad. And after a week, it didn’t.(That’s normally my test, give it a week to see if I really love or hate it.) The second appointment I went in for just a trim of what she did the first time. She gave me what a former stylist called, «an old lady cut». She just pulled my hair up and cut. There was no skill! It looked awful. She didn’t even anything out. My hair looked like some girl at the mall had done it.(Yeah, I’ve had the same haircut from some girl at the mall before, for $ 10 less.) I waited a week, but no, it looks awful. I canceled my next appointment and am now in need of a new stylist.

Gina cut my hair and I love it! Everyone was friendly, the décor is beautiful. Prices are reasonable(especially for the attention you’re getting!) and I’ll definitely be back!

The place is beautiful. The people are nice. I had my brows, lip and pedi done. Cost about $ 100. Little too expensive for what you get, if you ask me. I like the brow structure and hard wax they use. The soft wax that was used left me with a huge dark burn looking mark on my lip… OUCH!

I had a «girl’s day» at Turning Heads Salon & Spa recently. I was impressed with our services and the facility itself. I indulged in an aromatherapy wrap. It was basically an exfoliating rub down and lotion up. The woman did a great job. She didn’t talk too much which allowed me full relaxation. I also like that the spa rooms are completely separated from the hustle and bustle of the salon. The pedicure room is fun with a flat screen tv with remote, plenty of gossip mags, and comfy chairs. Try setting your self up with an impressive massage chair that really does the job. Make sure you get someone who normally does pedicures. They also offer, Manicures, Cuts, Style, Massage, Waxing, Perms, Microdermabrasion, Facials, and Make up. Enough services to keep you busy all day long! I was impressed with the fact that they had girls from Boys Town in to teach them about the salon, running a business, and even offered them discounted services. Apparently they do this on a regular basis. Good for you, Turning Heads, on giving back to your community!
