20+ years eating Connie & George’s food, tonight another reminder why. Great food, clean, friendly atmosphere… just a nice place to go. P. S. Wave Bistro has the BEST wonton soup in Omaha.

Enjoyed dinner here a couple nights ago and it was delicious. The crab cakes were quite delicious and I also had the green curry which was quite tasty as well. I was curious about the european-asian fusion, but it worked quite nicely. I had the tiramisu for dessert and loved it. Others is our party had the crème brûlée and were raving about it as well.

My wife and I frequently visit Wave for our date nights. The owner always greats you at the door with a smile and is extremely proactive in assuring your meal is prepared exactly how you request it. Anytime I am asked to recommend a place to try, I always mention Wave.

We went back to this place after many years and food was still the best and service was even better. We ordered some Japanese noodles and crusted chicken and both of them were very tasteful. Owner stopped by few times and talked to us about the food and we felt very welcomed. We will definitely go back.

We went at lunch and were able to sit right down. 2 of us had salmon, 1 had chicken. Both were excellent! Service was great. Will definitely be back.

I took my two daughters to The Wave Bistro after seeing a movie across the street. I had been there once before on a date, and I was having a serious craving for crème brûlée. On my date, I ordered the trio of crème brûlée and… mmmmm… I’m going to throw this out there: this is not a place that would easily accommodate children of the noisy and rambunctious variety. This is a folded-napkin, classical music, gently classy restaurant. They also do not have a kid’s menu, but the prices are reasonable enough(many lunch items were under $ 10) that the lack of the normal children’s fare is fine. My older daughter had the salmon, which came with egg drop soup, rice, and broccoli. The salmon had some sort of light crust on it. My younger daughter had the fried rice with shrimp, which also came with egg drop soup. I had the mushroom chicken dish, with a salad. I do have to say, the portions are very generous. We ended with leftovers enough for yet another tasty lunch the day after. Everything was prepared beautifully… except, I must say, for the salad. It was the sole disappointment of the entire meal. I love salads; I really wish a bit of effort had been put into it beyond lettuce and a dollop of Ranch. Our server was personable and attentive. One thing that made me slightly uncomfortable(this is going to sound weird, but here goes) was that the manager(owner?) seemed to know every person in the restaurant… except for us. She spoke at length to four or five other tables, passing by us without notice several times. Finally near the end of the meal she did come over to ask how our meal was, but there was none of the personable chatter. Maybe we need to be «regulars» to get a snippet of cheerful conversation? I don’t know, but it was very noticable, and slightly off-putting. This and the salad are the only reason I went 4 star and not 5. Finally, we ordered the trio of crème brûlée, which was secretly the reason I took my girls there in the first place! Delicious as I recalled, and I was glad to have them help me eat it. Raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla… heaven knows how many calories, but if you enjoy crème brûlée, it’s a must! I’ll be back there at some point. I’d definitely recommend it for a date.

Upon entering, I was stuck by the lovely décor! The atmosphere felt peaceful and tranquil. I had the Pad Thai with veggies, which isn’t on the menu, but they were very kind to work with my requested modifications. My mom had the tempura fish and it was excellent. The salad with the house dressing was tasty, and the service was kind and prompt. Everything seemed very fresh. We had a good experience here! Thanks, Wave!

This was great Thai food! I like that they took the time to put linen on the tables, it really makes a difference. Definitely a good mid price-point place for date night. Unfortunately I was dining alone and that experience left a little to be desired. They have a bar with chairs, but after sitting down, I got the impression they are not used to people actually sitting there. There was noticeable shock and I was twice asked if I was staying to eat. I think they should probably do away with the bar seating because behind the bar is really kind of their work station(not for food prep, but just organizing, bar-tending, and general management type interactions) so as a diner, you see a little more of the frantic behind the scenes interaction than they’d probably like. A little uncomfortable for having to eat alone at the bar. But the food was really good, so next time I’ll just ask for a table for one. I had the pad thai and loved it! I will definitely return.

Hit the place during restaurant week. Great service all were extremely attentive. First course — crab cakes and tempura shrimp were delicious. Main course flank steak very good and almond shrimp excellent(not a health food). Desserts were quite good as well. Overall pretty top notch Asian food

I loved everything about this restaurant. Décor, food and service was awesome. I’ve actually been planning a repeat visit soon. Our meal began with homemade rolls served with delicious almond butter. My main course was Thai Green Curry Shrimp, which was stir-fried shrimp in a green curry with coconut milk. YUMMY! Dessert was absolutely heavenly! Trio Chocolate Mousse Torte made with Swiss imported garnet white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. We devoured it so fast, I was sorry I didn’t get my own! I definitely won’t be sharing next time. I have to mention the delicious hot tea, served with honey. I really, really loved it!

Another new stop and an overall nice experience. First, the ambiance and décor defies expectations for a non-descript strip mall restaurant. The dining room is roomy, clean, perfectly lit and shows as fine dining. The waiter was EXCELLENT with both descriptions and suggestions and the food was well priced. I started with the spring rolls and the firecracker shrimp appetizers. Both were nicely done but the shrimp in particular is worth a 2nd mention. The dish was well balanced and paired well with the house made chili sauce. I am a HUGE fan of chili sauce when done right and this was top 3 anywhere I have been. For the main course I went with the spare rib special. I had a difficult time reaching that decision and part of me would like the decision back. Although the peppers and the sauce were very nice, the ribs were on the dry side. Overall, it was a 4 start experience and I will be back to try out some of the other main courses.

Dinner with the family. As always the food and service was great but this time the food was even more incredible. I do not want to use her name but our waitress was incredible. She has a gift. She remembered everyone in our party, where we sat at our last visit(not just the table but which seats at that tabke) and exactly what each of us had ordered at our last visit over 4 months ago.(We are from out of town or would be visiting Wave so much more often!) Her recommendation for food and wine were great and we ordered what she recommended. It was all incredible. My parents thought the duck was even better than the duck they had in China. The seafood dynamite was incredible! I so want to give Wave 5 stars but I just do not do that often or ever yet.

Environment 5 star Nice and elegant. The table is formally set. Oddly and strangely the table was set with nice elegant china and when you sat down the waitress came and took all the plates from the table. She said they were just for show… Okkkk!!! Weird. I never heard of that before, I’ve seen when the dinner plate sat on top of the nice china… But this place didn’t do that. It was comical… Gave me a giggle before the dinner. Food The bread that comes out… taste like mini conuts– which I am a big fan of… they are combos of crescents and donuts(Jones Bros Cupcakes have the best ever). They were very delish… small but delish. The butter tasted like pistachio nuts but they said it was almond. REALLLYGOOD. I was excited when I thought it was pistachio nuts but the waitress said almond… and I was kinda disappointed lol… but it was still a unique and surprising flavor. Very good! The food was all very good. Fried Rice… 5 star… hard to mess up fried rice. but I have had a restaurant mess this up(refer to China Star in Bellevue review lol). Thai Basil Chicken— SOOOOOOGOOD! It was breaded and battered with a thai and basil mix! Large chicken breast… with a DELISH savory sauce… that I wish I could jar and take shots of it on a daily basis… well, maybe weekly basis. lol. THEDESSERT!!! MAN, THEDESSERT!!! A-MAZ-ING! It said the chocolate was imported. Usually I don’t believe it but I do in his case because the choc was SOOOOOOOOOO exquisite. I had the triple mousse cake or whatever it was called. Refer to the picture I posted. Creamy chocolate goodness! I will be back for dinner. And I am planning to go back for coffee and dessert!

So we are all clear– this is Asian FUSION, and they’ve done this quite well. It’s food is right up there with what I’ve experienced in bigger cities. Nobody really likes greasy, sugary stir fry and they don’t serve that junk here. The almond shrimp is done right — large shrimp, not overcooked in a light sauce. My girl ordered a stir fry dish(I normally hate all stir fry ChinAmerican food) and this was done very, very well. All of the ingredients were cooked perfectly — you really need to make an effort to cook a dish where the carrots and other vegetables are all cooked to the proper texture. I really like this place. I’m originally from San Francisco and since moving to Omaha, grew to really hate«Chinese» food. This place does it right. I didn’t leave feeling sick with that«OMG, I just ate a pile of MSG and grease» feeling. Their dishes are light and you can actually taste the ingredients. Service is great. OH! and the décor is modern, like you’d see in SF. No cheesy gongs and crappy Chinese flea market pics, etc. They aren’t trying to be a chinese food dive, they just happen to be asian and serve good tasing food at a nice place. Love this place!

You’d never suspect the level of service and quality of food you’ll find at the Wave just by driving past. It’s on the end of a(mostly empty) strip mall outside of a Home Depot, but once inside, the owners and staff really go above and beyond to make sure their food is delicious and their customers leave pleased. We’d been here for lunch before, but our first dinner experience at Wave came during a girls’ night out for Restaurant Week 2013. For $ 30, we each got a glass of wine and three course meal. But these three courses were on a whole new level, portion-wise. My appetizer, a seared scallop, was delicious. A perfect few bites. Then came the entrée … or what I like to call«Mount» Thai Basil Crusted Chicken. This was two massive chicken breasts stacked on top of a pile of asparagus, surrounded in a delicious lick-your-plate-worthy sauce. Delicious, yes. But maybe hold off on the second breast and, in the spirit of Restaurant Week, just donate it directly to the Food Bank? Then, just when you decide you can’t eat another bite, out comes dessert. I stupidly ordered the TRIO of crème brûlée(raspberry, vanilla and chocolate). Each one was large enough to be a dessert in and of itself — and I had three sitting in front of me – after one of the largest entrees I’d eaten in years. In the end, the Wave gets four stars for flavor, add a star for service, subtract one for ridiculous portions … and it’s solidly a 4-star choice. Just maybe consider visiting for lunch? It will save you a little money and a notch on your belt.

We are regular customers, and Wave Bistro never disappoints! Connie and James offer personalized service! The food is excellent and the rolls served before the meal are divine! I bring out of town guests, and they comment about how fabulously this restaurant compares to their local restaurants!
