Michael’s Dairy and Pizza Inn

Their Broasted chicken was delicious and hot. Beer was cold and folks were friendly. Salad bar needs some work in the greens department but the bleu cheese dressing was fantastic and VERY chunky.

I don’t know what the previous reviewer meant by «expensive.» Prices were typical for the location.
Anyway, I was staying at a nearby RV park, and was going to walk to one of the many fast food joints, but saw this and decided to «buy local.» This is basically a burger/​pizza/​sandwich joint. You can do take out or eat in. I ordered pork tenderloin on take out. It was just the sandwich, no extras for $ 3.29 plus tax. It was very good! You be the judge on «expensive.» However, some «locals» that were also doing take out volunteered that the chicken and small pizzas were the best!
I had to laugh when the owner and his daughter were having a friendly argument over, of all things, MAYONAISE. Apparently, there is a «new school» and an «old school» way of putting mayonaise on a sandwich. Old school = squirt a dollop in middle, squish bun on top, DONE. New school = take a spoon and spread it around. LORDY!
There is plenty of room to park an RV if it’s not busy, but… the entrance to the gravel parking lot is quite steep. I fear an RV would «hit bottom and get stuck» both going in and going out. Wouldn’t try it.

Expensive and ok. Your choices are limited in this town. If you are in onawa for any length of time you’ll end up eatin here.
