Al & Ed’s Auto Sound

I took my Porsche 911 to Al & Ed’s to install an upgraded double din Kenwood head unit (replacing factory Becker radio). Had to relocate A/​C control panel and a few other updates. Al & Ed’s did a FABULOUS Install! Prior to going to Al & Ed’s, I took my car to Best Buy and another local stereo shop. Neither had experience with this type of install and both passed on completing the job. Based on a few recommendations, I decided to visit Al & Ed’s (and super glad I did).
Professional work environment, CLEAN INSTALL and everything works perfect! I purchased my Kenwood navigation unit (and install kit) from another retailer. However, I later noticed Al & Ed’s prices were very competitive. I kinda ignored a few of the negative post on Unilocal (as Al & Ed’s has been around a long time). Glad I decided to give this location a try. Very friendly service and again, the installation was clean. Labor charges were fair too!
One last thing, I arrived around 9am, completed paperwork, came back at 12 noon and my car was ready!!! WOW… ONLY 3 HOURS from Start to Finish!!!

Dude by far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I really hope the owners of this place take a look at this review. The «store manager» Dallas has to be the rudest «manager» I have ever met. What happened is way too long to describe in detail.
My only advice is. If you are considering this place for an interlock device GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Mind you. It wasn’t my interlock device and the service here is that bad.

I recently bought a used 4×4, and while the sound system in it was really pretty good, I couldn’t play music from my phone. I went to Al & Ed’s for a solution. I got very good and quick service. They gave me a great option and installed it next day. Products and service from Al & Ed’s — spot on. Getting to listen to my «Hard Licker» playlist again? Fantastic!

These guys have done wonders with my 65 bug. They treated my car great and were able to fix all my problems. They did not carry a radio to fit in my car but they still helped me when I got a radio that would fit from another vendor. Another thing I like about these guys is that they worked with my budget. They gave me the best sound I could afford and did not try to up-​sale me at all.

Long story short, I came here after a dash unit install done at another place, and asked Al & Ed’s to go through the install and make sure everything was done properly etc… then we also had them install an antenna on the roof. We came here because it’s ‘Al & Ed’s’… they’re supposed to be good right?
— The antenna was installed crooked and they messed up our paint job on the roof… they did something to the clear coat ~4in or around the antenna and it holds dirt/​dust differently than the rest of the coat.
— The dash unit (which they had to remove and work with during antenna installation, as well as check out with regards to checking the other previously done work by another shop) was left SITTING in the dash just sitting in the hole… no screws, no mounts, nothing… it was simply sitting there… and was slowly sinking into the dash after they were done. (I had to take it to another shop where he just pulled it out with his hands, laughed, and PROPERLY screwed it into place with a small addition to the harness.)
Now, it must be understood the original install was done by someone else, but when we take it here and specifically ask that they check the other work and find any problems with it… also they themselves have to remove the unit and put it back in to install the antenna… and they never even mention that the unit is not even screwed in place in the dash let alone properly secure it themselves??? Sloppy, irresponsible work.
I’m disgusted with their service.

These guys are nothing short of miracle workers, I called ahead to make sure they had space form my boat and trailer, they did. So i showed up with most my own stuff my wife bought for my xmas presents and stuff. They were more than happy to install the new equipment i had. we discussed possible locations and off i went. Along the way the speakers i brought didnt fit do to the old locations being cut out to big so they recommended the alpine 7″ marine speakers. They ordered them, installed them and 1 day later i was there with my eyes popping out of my skull! this boat sounds AMAZING! Now you may think to yourself, well thats their job, or thats what they do. I say wait till its your stuff. It F’n ROCKS! much more than I could have hoped for.
All I know is ill be back for my train horns and alarm systems in my truck and my wife Rubicon!

You tend to get the run around when all you want an accurate quote. They alarm I needed was priced about $ 100 more than other shops and the labor was more than most also. I ended up walking away and going elsewhere. If there is something I don’t like is a place that isn’t honest.

I just called this place and asked for a quote for them to install an iPod integration and to install my subwoofer and amp for my 2005 Acura TSX.
They told me to install subwoofer and amp would be $ 500 because it would have to go through the carpet.
The iPod integration would be $ 200.
A whopping grand total of $ 700.
I called Car Stereo Warehouse in Anaheim and let’s just say I’m going to be paying 65% LESS.
What a rip off.

Brought my 2014 Corolla in for a system. Great products. Great service. And the install was top notch. Dallas is very knowledgeable he goes out of his way to help you. This place is definitely worth every penny. I’m a customer for life.

There work gets five stars but there prices get one star. There one of the most expensive places. I used to get work done here some years ago but not now. They quoted me 700.00 for a viper 2 way auto start alarm. Thats way to high i got it done for 450.00. So based on price they get 3 stars.

Great service… they worked on my 4 runner all work was as promised. they are very neat and professional, Dallas has great service and people skills.

Great customer service… fair prices… fantastic professional installation. This is where I will be going from now on for all my cars audio needs. There is no reason to go anywhere else. Extremely happy with everything about Al and Eds. Go here… u won’t regret it.

Over priced and over rated when in trying to get a single din installed they told me $ 100 everything was taken off I didn’t install it myself because I don’t how to connect the stereo harness but figure it out and costed me nothing

Went in yesterday for a really small job. They did it no problem, and at a really GREAT price. I would defiantly use them again.

Couple of months have past by but Dave (assuming owner of the company) Contacted me and wanted to make things right.
Told him what happen and what My mechanic told me.
He contacted my Mechanic and told me to speak to him which I just did moments ago. My mechanic explained to me that after everything is said and done he couldn’t give me 100 percent direct blame to the installer or dis-​installer of my alarm that cause my BSM to burn out.
We spoke for about 15 minutes which I finally concluded that Al &Ed company most likely did not cause my bsm to burn out however they didn’t completely dist-​install my alarm. By leaving one wire connected to the bsm which could have cause a problem (small chance)
After everything said and done this company made every attempt to make things right.

Went in today to see about getting an installation kit for an aftermarket radio, after looking it up in their system, I was told it would cost about 200 dollars, possibly because of how the instrument cluster is (what they told me). Well I opened it up right after being told this and what I saw was the simplest set up ever (I have a 2004 Chevy) I’m not usually one to say these things, but I don’t know what those guys are trying to pull, selling something so simple for such an outrageous price. *Update* I went online and found exactly what I was looking for, for about $ 40

Told us be done in an hour we come back in an hour and a half just to be told they were just starting because there was extra paper work they didn’t let us know about until we got back. No apology totally unprofessional.

This was my 2^nd time going to Al & Ed’s and am very pleased with the work. Recently I’ve been looking for a GPS system for my 2013 Jeep online but prices were too steep for my budget. I walked in the store with my wife and the sales reps were very helpful in fitting our budget, especially cause our unit was 50% off! We were going to wait but since they said they could have it installed in just over an hour, we were sold. Not to mention, they stayed open 30 mins past closing to complete the work and walk me through the functions of the unit after installation. Thank you for going above and beyond for us… we’ll be back!

Joshua Macias assisted me today with an Alpine Head Unit in my pickup. The install was done well and the function of the unit was explained in its entirety.
