Nice service. Plenty food. Didn’t like jerk chicken … too much salt and other seasoning I didn’t like. Bourbon chicken was fine. Rice and red beans too. Plantains great.

Food here was great! Had ox tails and beans and rice. They give you lots of food for the money

Leg and thigh jerk chicken and a small fountain soda $ 7 I wouldn’t mind the price if the food had been cooked properly and they served it hot. I will never step foot in that place again!

First and last time at this place. My partner and I stopped here for a quick lunch and now we’re both regretting it. When we first walked in, the food on display looked amazing so we were excited but since we were in a hurry we decided on cuban sandwiches. When we finally get to the front of the line the blonde woman at the counter turned away from us, pulled her phone from her back pocket and started texting. While she had her back to us someone else came in. when she turned back around she completely ignored us and moved on to the next customer. I was ready to leave but my partner insisted on waiting. Once she took her sweet time finishing up that order she took our order by asking«what do you want?» We got the sandwiches to go. When I unwrapped it I was completely disappointed. There was hardly any pork or cheese on the sandwich, the bread wasn’t toasted and the ham tasted old. We would’ve been better off going to the McDonald’s down the street.

The food here is cafeteria style and I generally purchase one main course with two sides. They offer daily deals, however, I am never interested in the promotion. Their bourbon style chicken is pretty good(when it has not been sitting for too long) and I absolutely love the wings(which aren’t always available — remember, cafeteria style) with a double side of salad w/Italian dressing. The portions are HUGE so I have found that the wings(5 – 6 count) and salad are not too filling. This place is just an all around great lunch spot and a good choice when you need a break from chain restaurants. I would have given it 4 stars, but sometimes the food does not taste as fresh as I would like. Most of the employees here are very nice too. Oh yeah! They offer espresso for $ 1. Not bad!

This place was great. My business partner and I were cruising down the freeway around lunch time and starving. Found the Caribbean Café by accident and said let’s take a chance. A little skeptical but willing to take a gamble. Bout did we hit the jackpot, cheap, fed two people for $ 12. Large portions, and delicious. Jerk chicken was falling off the bone and the red beans and rice were great. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I eat out everyday, and I am constantly looking for a clean restaurant where I can have«real food» fast. Well this restaurant is clean. They have various selection of pre-prepared Cuban food to choose from that are kept warm on a burner. They can also prepare something for you from the menu if you are not interested in the pre-prepared options. They offer daily specials for about $ 4.00. I opted for something from their menu(made when ordered). I ordered Palomilla Steak with White rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. For a cheap meal it was good, not to greasy, it was yummy and I ate it all! Good authentic food under $ 9 Can’t beat that. Friendly staff, they are very fast. They have a drive thru window. Yes a Drive Thru Window! No complaints will be back! FYI.They also offer breakfast in the morning, and of course Cuban coffee.

A group of us from work found ourselves in Opa Locka after a long sad funeral service which lasted over lunchtime and left us starving. Driving back to the office we espied this place with a sign outside offering meat and two sides with a 20 oz drink for $ 4.99 and decided to give it a shot. We parked and ran inside. Immediately the good smell of home cooking hit us and we knew we were onto a sure thing. The meat special of the day was pork chops and so two of us opted for that. I chose rice and beans and corn for my sides and was delighted with the size of the portion. In hindsight, I should have gotten a side of plantain but we were being rushed along by mama bear from the office and had to make our decisions fast. I’m no big expert on cuban cuisine but everything in the hot plates looked and smelled super yummy(especially the oxtail). Loved the flavour of the rice and beans and the pork chop, while bony in my case and fatty in my co-worker’s case, was seasoned nicely. We also had us an empanada which was greasy and would make for some awesome late night soakage. The staff seemed harried however, which may be partly due to the fact they have a drive up window. I know! Awesome. I’d definitely give it another shot if I’m ever in the area. Sure beats the Burger King up the block.
