The restaurant is located inside Asian Supermarket on the left side. I was glad they had dim sum even if it was obviously nowhere as good as home(California). The tsu mai had a gamey taste to it. The steamed beancurd sheet was OK. I never had it in the form of a roll. I’m accustomed to seeing it flattened. The slice fish congee was great. Maybe I was just craving some hot soup for a cold day but it hit the spot and felt like home. The fried rice dough is really the Chinese doughnut. I never heard it phrased this way, but it complimented the porridge nicely. I’d come back here for my dim sum fix and try the other items on the menu.

When we entered this restaurant I was excited by the sounds and smells. I was thinking that we had found a great place. The hot and sour soup was a nice start. Just the right amount of tang and seasonings. After that things took a turn for the worse. My entrée was SUPER salty. I ate a few bites and then couldn’t keep going. It was truly inedible. I still give three stars because my nori and seaweed salads were very good. The shrimp dumplings were also quite tasty. I guess if I ever ate here again I would stick to the sushi.

I’ll start with the good. The hot and sour soup was good. The shrimp dumpling was good. The steamed shumei was OK. But my entrée was ridiculously salty. I ordered the Spicy Beef and honestly it should have been called the Salty Beef. The dish wasn’t really spicy, but it was overbearingly salty. I couldn’t take two bites without a sip of water. I let the server know it was really salty. She took it away to be remade… it was less salty the second time, but less salty than the saltiest salt lick on earth is still too salty. I like seasoning, I like flavor, but this was all the salt on earth on my plate.

I hate to copy someone else’s review but I could not improve on Tim’s review, so here is part of it again. «Everyone likes a nice surprise — and this place is no exception. Who would have thought to find such a great place … in Auburn/Opelika … and INSIDE a grocery store.» «Friendly, attentive staff, prompt service, fresh ingredients(hey! It’s in a grocery store!)». The atmosphere must be experienced to be truly appreciated. Plenty of food… very good prices.

Everyone likes a nice surprise — and this place is no exception. Who would have thought to find such a great place … in Auburn/Opelika … and INSIDE a grocery store. Feeling like Asian food/Sushi? This is the place. Friendly, attentive staff, prompt service, fresh ingredients(hey! It’s in a grocery store!). My sushi took some time to get out — unprompted, the waiter brought an appetizer to keep my stomach company. So I compare sushi to what I get in California. For the price I paid, I expected a 3 out 5 with a smallish portion. If that had been the case, I would have gone home a satisfied customer. But out came a boatload of sashimi … Seriously — In a wooden boat 18″ long complete with lit ice sculptures and flower petals. And this is real surprise, it’s as good as I’ve had in Cali and for less than $ 20(I am stuffed). And I have never said that about any other place. You HAVE to come here!
