I was looking for a place to have a good breakfast and work on a project… I’m so glad I stopped in here instead of Starbucks! Breakfast was a reasonably priced delicious fresh bagel with perfectly cooked bacon and fluffy scrambled eggs(it would have been 5 stars but it just needed a little more seasoning — salt and pepper… Butter?) Coffee was delicious and just what the doctor ordered. There was plenty of room for work, staff was friends and didn’t rush me out the door. Music was great and not obtrusive… Definitely will visit there again!

I cannot give it more than one star simply because the place is filthy. The bathrooms alone were worse than The Port Authority Bus Terminal. I couldn’t bring myself to order food, God knows what the kitchen looks like. In addition, the refrigerated display case was a mess as well.

Love this place! Great place to read or work. Cozy. Best iced lattes and great food. I read some comments about cleanliness but the café is NOT dirty. It’s just the atmosphere of the place to look like antique.

While my rating stays the same, I just wanted to update that I just recently found out that Cool Beans the coffee/tea shop/café has now become a full fledged merchant of alcohol! I went in to get a caffeine pick-me-up after I had nearly ate myself into a food coma at Kimchi Smoke in Bergenfield and was shocked to see beer bottles and wine bottles on display on shelves. Hmm… these weren’t here before… Was the décor new? It wasn’t just for décor, Cool Beans was displaying all their alcoholic offerings! Not only do they serve beer and wine but they have other drinks available too. There was a menu on the wall that had drinks specials made with vodka and tequila. *sniff* My high school hangout is all grown up now. I didn’t try any of their drink specials but today is Cinco de Mayo and I Mayo be getting drunk at Cool Beans later today. Mayo-be. Oy, I’m corny.

DIRTYDIRTYDIRTY. I came here to work bust was distracted by the filth. This place needs to sweep their floors. I sat at a table near a vent that was COVERED in dust. Chairs are awful. I can’t imagine what the kitchen must look like. Also the bathroom is what you’d imagine a gas station bathroom would look like. Don’t waste your time… If you are the owner reading this all you have to do is clean your place and invest in some better chairs. You’re located in Oradell, NJ… I’ve yet to enter a place as dirty in North Philly.

So disappointed brought a friend to have an early dinner and as soon as I walked in I was disgusted by the filthy floors. The service was terrible and twice I told someone about no soap in bathroom and was ignored. We ordered a salad with Blu cheese and walnuts and it was tasteless and over priced. the floor was gross and had food all over .don’t get me going about there horrible chairs I will never return to this place. It’s a shame that it seems to be very poorly managed

This place is the best. I’ve literally been going here for over 10 years and haven’t stopped loving it. The vibe is so chill and Chris and Melissa are great owners, always friendly to everyone. They also recently obtained their liquor license so the serve all different types of IPAs, other beer, mixed drinks and wine. Plus the food is soo good– try one of the sandwiches– like the Matt Special or the Issa. It’s refreshing to walk into a place with such a unique vibe, reggae music playing or classic rock, and great coffee, tea, drinks and food. Awesome local spot. Support local coffee shops like this one!

This is one of my favorite coffee spots. Great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. The not chocolate is always my to go to :-) best part is they have 50 cent refills! I’ve never had their food but it looks delicious. They also sell liquor! Overall, a great spot to hang out.

The place seems unkept, dirty, the chairs are either broken or filthy. The service… what service? Lacking, the staff don’t even greet you. Really strange place, certainly will not be back.

Love relaxing places like this. the employees need to be slightly more gracious though and watch the immature, entitled attitude crap. It definitely needs to be scrubbed down too. informal is great. but dirty.no.

I went to Cool Beans about a week ago and I loved it. Such a cute place with a nice atmosphere. I had a caramel latte which was very good and the grilled cheese with side salad was delish. I will definitely go back!

One of the best Chai’s I have ever had. My friend got the Banana and Peanut Butter coffee which tasted pretty good as well. I like the selection of Tea’s and also got the Raspberry pie which I couldn’t tell if they made or got shipped in. Whatever it was, it was great! I really like the atmosphere there.

Ive come here since highschool, and this little café is always a nice time. Its relaxing and chill, and oh wait they even have a full bar now! Cool beans has changed my friends, Coffees are strong, i recently had the Breakfast with Elvis(Banana and peanut butter coffee), this smelled amazing and was strong! The sandwhiches and breakfast meals are always great to choose from. Not to mention the sandwhiches come with a side of salad or chips to choose from! Parking is the only downfall of this place, its always difficult to get a spot.

Jonesing for coffee tonight, so my boyfriend and I ended up here. De First time at Cool Beans, and I’m in love. Different coffee types, fabulous tea selection, and an extensive nosh and dessert menu. Oh, and I forgot, for those of you who like something a bit more serious — there’s a great adult drink menu: Yes, BOOZE! The atmosphere is so relaxed, the staff is really friendly and helpful. It’s definitely a place that demonstrates the whole«coffee-house» attitude. They will definitely see me again. It’s just such a nice place.

Coffee is always fresh and the specialty drinks are amazing, but you must try the soup and the sandwiches. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable about the coffees and teas. You can also pick up some great desserts from some of the best bakeries in the world. They now have a full bar with top shelf spirits, wines from all different regions, & an unbelievable selection of craft beers. The mixologist can really make some great cocktails

This place is a nice place to do work or study. It is not too loud and has a lot of places for outlets. The cleanliness of this place is very questionable… I saw some ants around the ice cream one time. The worst part is I found a huge fly in my ice coffee. It wasn’t till I finished the whole drink that I was able to see the sucker. I am pretty disgusted and will probably not come back here again… good luck everyone and check ur drinks. See my photo for proof!

This is a cute coffee shop. Perfect to get work done, listen to live music, or relax. The workers are pleasant and nice. Now they have their liquor license and they have amazing drinks. Really creative?! Dark and stormy is my favorite.

This place is very laid back and chill perfect for any time of the day. It absolutely perfect for hanging out with friends because it’s pretty big. If it was in the city, it would be packed but I think the location is perfect. The vibe is very hipsterish with string lights, bookshelves, an old piano in the back. I see people of all walks of life, old or young, hipster or not, come in here and seem to have a good time. They also serve alcohol so its perfect if you want to have a beer and chill with friends although the Bloody Mary looks killer. I have had ice cream and a tea smoothie called a Teazing here. Ice cream is pretty cheap, i think it was $ 1 per scoop for standard ice cream. The Teazing, which comes in 4 different fruity flavors. I decided to get my antioxidant intake and get the blueberry/pomergrante teazing. The flavor was good but it was too sweet for me and tasted nothing like tea. The ice they crush up in it, is one of those addicting ices where you get addicted to crunching it every 2 seconds. Overall, not bad teazing. 1 short teazing is $ 4 which is a nice portion. Our barista was extremely nice and answered any questions for us. Prices are very fair. Open late, till 2AM which is nice. Until next time Cool Beans :)

The inexorable, soul-crushing suburbia surrounding one of the world’s greatest cities is nowhere better represented than in the depressing Pascack River valley. To those unfortunate hipsters and young professionals lured to the area by the attractive schools and house prices, the cold truth is the inescapable boredom. Cool Beans is the small consolation prize that you receive for settling here – and it’s the only coffee shop in the area that is open late on Sunday night. It attracts the academic types(I saw a few people vigorously writing something resembling vector calculus). But the main attraction here is obviously hipsters; there is a piano in the back where some talentless musician is mashing the keys uncontrollably; you have ample choice of fair-trade coffee – and all the right pieces of décor to contrast the corporate coffee shops everyone loves so much. I will be honest, I enjoyed it. It’s a great place to bring a date – they often have live music, and even the food seemed palatable at first glance. If you find yourself on a Sunday night wanting for a romantic experience sans the local Wendy’s binge, and you want to feel hip and trendy even if you chose to live around in the doleful environs of New Jersey, perhaps Cool Beans is the place for you.
