Great customer service and a great array of products. Sales associates were friendly and helpful. Saturday there was a few lines building up but they had plenty of cashiers on So i can’t complain.

I do papercrafting, mostly scrapbooking. AC Moore can’t possible compete with Joanne, Michael’s or Hobby Lobby in this department, but I have gone there because occasionally they have something I can’t get at the other stores(for a while they had state-specific stickers, but I noticed even these have been cut way down — poor Michigan was in the bargain bin). However, my review stems from the service. 1.) As others have noted, the checkout is bad. It doesn’t matter if there are only two people in the store. You Will Wait. 2.) I use my Joanne or Barnes and Noble educator card at Michael’s, where they also have a teacher discount. I used to do the same at AC Moore. However, they now won’t accept the other store cards. They do have their own now, but they wanted a CEA card(which I have never had); we no longer have paystubs, and my school district is notorious about getting IDs to us(one year we got them in January!). I do understand their policy but if Michael’s and Joanne give me the discount and AC Moore is being a pain about it, why would I not go to the other stores? answer: I will. 3.) Worst part: Sneaky pricing. Once in a while their sales are very specific and you have to read the small print and check what you are buying, sometimes with a magnifier. E.g.: when Jolee’s stickers for some reason had two or three«lines», all at about the same price point, there were several can’t-miss-em signs advertising«Jolee Boutique stickers» for 30% off or the like. When I got to the register some were Jolee’s whatever-line, so they didn’t ring up on sale. Very annoying; I didn’t buy them because I felt the sign was purposely deceitful. Same thing happened yesterday, but I needed the ribbon I was buying: ribbon section punctuated with signs saying«Ribbon 3 for $ 1.00». Smaller print says«Regular $ 3.99». I figured all the ribbons were $ 3.99 then(since crafts stores are notorious for marking stuff way up just to constantly mark it down, that didn’t seem necessarily out of line). When I got to the register it rung up at $ 8.00 rather than $ 2.00. I paid SIXDOLLARSMOREFORRIBBONTHATCOST A THIRDOFTHEPRICEOFTHESALERIBBON. Is that ridiculous? I wouldn’t’ve have purchased it, but I needed it and was in a hurry. Once I bought something from their«dollar bin»(when they had ‘em) and after getting home(this was before I knew enough to check the register as it’s being tallied) it was several dollars more. When I called, I was told it didn’t belong in the dollar bin. I went in and showed them how all of that article was in the bin — it was obviously not an orphan a customer put there because they decided not to buy it or the like. THey admitted an employee had moved the entire stock of the item to the bin, but said it was a mistake, and made no attempt to «keep the customer satisfied». I spoke to the manager and received the verbal equivalent of a shrug. AC Moore is unfortunately the closest craft store to my home which is why I have been forced to go there occasionally, but as Hobby Lobby is opening up on the post road in Milford, I won’t be darkening their door EVER again.

Probably one of the first times that I’ve walked into a craft store and came out with nothing. It just seemed like a store full of a whole lot of nothing.

Well, A.C. Moore has been remodeled folks! They even had a grand re opening. Their beads/jewelry section has its own corner where the strung beads are reasonably priced. However if someone would like to purchase anything from the beads section they’d have to check out at the cashier specifically placed at the entrance of the section. and if you’re done shopping I’d recommend checking out at the cashier because one thing that hasn’t changed is that the lines for checkout are horrendous. I don’t know what it is but seems like I pick the worst time to pay for my stuff, and seems like everyone else was thinking the same thing.

Just when I thought this store couldn’t get less efficient, they’ve wowed me with poor management. The jewelry making section now requires you to use a separate register for jewelry supplies only. The normal registers have very slow moving lines and no dedicated returns line, so when Susie Homemaker forgets her receipt and spends 25 minutes arguing with the slightly incompetent salesperson, you have to wait.
