Ughhhh… I hate having to leave this review, however, I think others will find this helpful when trying to decide to eat Big Chopsticks or not. I have gotten delivery to my work many times without any major problems except having to wait forever for my food. A co worker and I ordered 2 orange chicken lunch specials. After an 1 hr and 45 minutes the food arrives and I started eating it only to find several long black hairs in my chicken. Needless to say I am disgusted and horrified that this happened. Yes, they did give me my money back only after I refused to try something else. Sadly, this was the last time I will ever eat there again.

No pork on the menu at all? What kind of Chinese restaurant is this?

Worst ever steamed dumplings. Very very doughy. Filling is tough and flavorless. Hot and sour soup had nothing but tofu and small shreds of chicken. No mushrooms. Flavor was burnt. Won’t order from them again.

My favorite Chinese food restaurant! The veggies are always fresh and cooked just the way I like. Always very quick and friendly customer service. Convenient location. Jalapeño chicken is my go to dish

We received a pamphlet in the mail from big chopsticks a month ago. So we ordered food here last week on a Thursday for delivery to our office and were told it would take 30 min, but it only took about 10 – 15 minutes. The driver and food were great. So the entire office ordered again for our lunch today(Thursday) at 11:15ish and were told 45min to an hr. We actually didnt receive our order til 12:52pm.

Good food again, problems was since they include a tip which is fine, but when the driver got here he asked for more tip… Other than that good food… Next time I’ll go pick it up.

We have ordered numerous times from Big Chopsticks. The food is awesome, Orange Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Szechwan Beef, Egg Rolls, I could go on and on. We order different things and they are all good. Plus, they deliver until midnight, hello! You can’t go wrong, they always deliver faster than the time it says and are always friendly. Anyone who says different than 5 stars is just high maintenance lol!

I have to take 2 stars down for this place. It’s still pretty decent for Chinese food that delivers but I probably wouldn’t go out of way to eat here. Certain menu items are 100% fails. Like I mentioned in my previous review, the chicken wings are sometimes too dry and stringy. I’ve stopped getting those altogether. Recently, we ordered the lemon chicken… Worst decision ever. How can I describe it??? Let’s see — imagine a deep fried, breaded chicken breast that’s been in the fridge for a couple days. Then take it out and stick it in a 450 degree oven for a few, deliver it with a «lemon» sauce that still tastes like cornstarch. In a word? Gross. The chicken breast was cut into strips katsu-style. But it had no crunch, the breading tasted greasy, and the chicken tasted old and sinewy. I was actually pretty pissed that they thought this was edible to sell. It was a piss poor representation of what lemon chicken should be and really left a bad taste(literally) in my mouth about Big Chopsticks. Even though a couple menu items have always been consistently good(i.e., chow fun, fried rice, wor won ton soup, some lunch specials), I might need to take a break from here for a while… I would rather drive and pick up food from the plethora of legit Chinese places in Irvine(for now).

Solid 3.5! 9 pm craving for chicken and vegetables. Order at 9:03, Eat24 order arrive at 9:35 earlier than anticipated(45 – 60 mins). Food was hot, driver super friendly. Impressed he was able to find our house given the construction going on nearby sand changes to the gate entrance. Now onto the food. Hot and sour — Would order again. Legit pieces of chicken. Not too spicy, not a lot of depth in flavor, but still good. Kung pao chicken — Would not order again. Didn’t taste like«typical» Kung pao. Asked for spicy and wasn’t spicy. A bit sweet. Big chunks of chicken though? Spinach with Garlic — exactly what I was craving. Huge huge huge portions for the price. A teeny bit oily but really it’s Chinese food. Overall would order again!

I ordered my food online at 5:27 pm, got an email saying it would take an hour to get my food delivered. After 1 hour and 30 min I called the restaurant to see what was going on and I was told the delivery guy was already delivering my food and it shouldn’t take more than 10 min Bottom line, I waited 2 hours to get my food and guess what? It was cold and not good at all

Solid take out, just temper your expectations. Although Irvine has made huge strides in in terms of cuisine in the last 5 years, the delivery game is still piss poor. When I reviewed a flyer in the mail for Chinese take out I was naturally skeptical but being 3 beers into the evening while Thursday Night Football was on, I was willing to make some compromises. The menu literally has 80 items available of cliché «Chinese» dishes and the prices are all around $ 10.00. I made the order via phone and within 20 minutes my meal arrived by motor scooter. As far as greasy delivery Chinese goes, Big Chopsticks gets the job done. Well, even. The Kung Pao Beef was moist, succulent and… well… greasy in the best of ways. The broccoli was cooked yet still crisp. The soy based sauce was salty and savory at the same time and clung perfectly to the noodles. This is about as good as delivery Chinese is going to get folks. Mated with a Stone IPA and NFL football, you have a recipe for a great thirsty Thursday evening. I am sure there will be detractors on Unilocal for Big Chopsticks but I for one am stoked to have Chinese delivery available to me when I need the fix.

Ordered from the website which makes you go thru eat24.(5:59pm) quoted 45−60min. It took 1 hour and 50 min for the food to come. I chatted online with the an eat24 rep starting from 1 hour 20 min from time I ordered. I also spoke with the restaurant directly. Food finally arrived and the order was incorrect! I ordered chicken fried rice and house special chow mein. Instead I got house special fried rice and shrimp chow mein. I called and they said they would redeliver the correct order in 45min.(7:49pm) They delivered to my door at 10pm! That’s right, folks… TEN O’CLOCKPM! I will never, ever order from eat24 or from Big Chopsticks again.

Got the sesame beef. It was extremely dry, and you could definitely tell that they had to re-fry it more than twice. TERRIBLEDONTORDERDELIVERYFROMHERE. Who knows, maybe their dine-in is good.

Hands down the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The only one-star review I’ve ever written. Salty, greasy, yuck. All of us felt queasy after the meal. We tried several items, but most of it went into the trash can. Shame, because we were all excited about a new Chinese place that looked promising and was in the delivery range. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

This place is a very small restaurant! I saw a sign that says the capacity is 24 people. I ordered a chicken fried rice through the phone for a pick up. The rice doesn’t taste that oily or fried, it’s more like plain. Also, they are so many big pieces of chicken, why? That is so lazy that they couldn’t chop it smaller. I might come back pretty soon and I’m glad that they gave me a coupon for my next visit!

I knew this day would come, my very first negative review is here! Which is not easy, since I’m usually an easy crowd and not high demanding. Like when I see people give a restaurant 2 stars because they made their party of 14 with 3 high chairs wait for an hour and 30mins. Seriously people? Stop it. That’s called, «make a reservation next time» and still expect to wait a bit. Moving on. I decided to give this place a try since I needed something delivered to my workplace since my hour lunch consisted of errands. I ordered online using Unilocal.I ordered two meals since the minimum amount for delivery is $ 12. I ordered the orange chicken with steamed rice and the CHICKEN and broccoli as a combo which for a $ 1 more you get a soup, egg roll, and a drink(canned or water bottle). I get my meal about 40 minutes after I placed my order. When the guy gets here he has me sign my order sheet, and damn me, for not checking it before he left. Which, I should have once he handed me a can of coke when I had ordered a sprite. Once he’s gone, I open up my order and behold, beef and broccoli! Like I had NOT ordered because I don’t eat red meat! I understand that beef and broccoli is the more popular order but not for me! I had to eat all the broccoli and steamed rice to avoid starving to death. I have to say, if you order Chinese just for the broccoli, their broccoli is pretty good. I tried the Orange chicken and it was good, nothing great there. Kind of soggy actually. To finish, when I asked online for a side of soy sauce, I got ONE packet of soy sauce. Now, don’t go imagining it’s a pretty decent size or in a little condiment cup container. It was the size of those ketchup packets you get at fast food places. Yeah, just one. Might as well have not asked for any. First & last time for sure! Oh and get the good kind of fortune cookies! Not the orange colored kind. Grosso!

Our non-Asian neighbor raves about this place so we decided to give it a try on a night we didn’t feel like cooking or driving far. The place is small. Service is fine. We decided to order take out: *Chicken with mushrooms: they gave me the wrong order, I hope, as there was a lot of cabbage and other veggies, but no mushrooms at all. *Shrimp chow fun: it was ok. Can’t complain. *Shrimp with lobster sauce: not good. Shrimp tasted powdery, like it had a ton of corn starch. *Cream corn soup: I was soo looking forward this on a cold night. It was soooooo salty I could barely eat it. I mixed with water, lots of water the day after to make it more bearable. Perhaps it was the items we ordered. Would probably not go back.
