Delicious and so cute! I love the atmosphere and the is absolutely delicious! My favorite, though, is their vanilla latte! They are just a little more expensive than I think they should be, otherwise, I’d be there every weekend.

Another gem in Orange. We enjoy this place kind of simple to some degree. But we have always been satisfied with the food and the service. Staff is friendly and helpful not to over bearing trying to rush you out of the place Try this place for your self and you will return

Great little place, love the old look and location. Always friendly and attentive. Coffee is good and so are the baked goodies! I found them by chance while in old town and needing something better to drink than«hipsterbucks», Lucca is that place!

After my family raved about the gelato at this place, we decided to try it after dinner one evening. The guy was very helpful and let us try a few different flavors. Unfortunately, we had a hard time finding one we liked. Many of the flavors tasted like they were flavored with an artificial flavoring. There wasn’t one flavor that tasted spectacular. I thought about ordering the stracciatella(chocolate chip), but it was basically vanilla with chocolate hard shell on the top. This is not how stracciatella is normally made. It usually has chocolate pieces throughout the vanilla, as well as on top. Needless to say, we settled on the Butterfinger. It was nothing to write home about. Other family members got the tiramisu and the toffee gelato. I guess they say«different strokes for different folks.»

I enjoyed dining at Lucca in terms of both their plates’ quality and atmosphere. To me, it appears to be rather fancy despite its location, at a corner of a strip mall. I dined at both inside and out, and both times, it was quite and appropriate for adult dining. Plates served are rather delicately displayed. I enjoyed their alcohol selection as well both beers and wines. Since I’m yet to travel my absolute dream spot Italy, I cannot evaluate their authenticity. To me, it’s a place for myself and my mother to have fancy lunch and/or dinner dates.

Great service. I brought my girlfriend here for brunch. Our order took extra long time because the order somehow didn’t go through. The order was covered for because of the extra delay. Usually come here for coffee, but the extra service made my day.

Went here for my son’s birthday. The grilled mac and cheese sandwich was awesome. Something different from other places, but very filling and flavorful. We also had the caprese sandwich and enjoyed it quite a bit. The garlic bread was made on fresh bread and had good amount of garlic.

I love visiting this little café. The lattes are excellent and always have the best latte art. Good food. Good service! Such a treasure tucked into such a cute little downtown.

I’ve been coming here whenever I’m in town, always loved it. Until today. Walked in, no seats so I went outside. Took awhile for waiter to come out. Ordered my usual stuffed french toast. Not as good as always. Finish eating and waited quite awhile for waiter. He never came out, and by then the place had emptied out. I had to go in and ask for my check. Seriously disappointed. Waiter never came back after taking my order to see if I needed anything. If you have outside tables I shouldn’t have to go in for my check. Hopefully it was just a bad day. I don’t want to look for another place for breakfast

Gorgeous and very friendly Italian restaurant in the heart of Old Towne Orange — I’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and confidently recommend each! Had a wonderful breakfast scramble and mimosa recently and a very pleasant chat with the restaurant’s owner — it is a friendly spot! Over the years I’ve also enjoyed various pasta dishes and some great healthy soup options. A cosy spot for a date but also an ideal space to stop by with family. Try it! :)

Café was slow that day. Ordered the rigatoni with meatballs. Plate was hot and had some flavor. Sauce was sweet and slightly bland. Argued with staff about getting bread. Explained for 10 minutes about why the bread comes out later. JUSTGIVEMEBREAD!!! the calamari was not fried crunch as expected. The the sausage soup lacked sausage. Ugh! Very disappointed. Gelato does not a good Italian place make.

Rating based only on Gelato: After dinner at Ruta’s decided to walk a bit and have something sweet. Service was okay. 3 stars. Ordered a small with 2 flavors: Almond and Toffee. Portions were good. Both flavor profiles were bland and too sweet. The sugar/sweetness drowned out the actual flavor. I could barley make out which was toffee and which was almond. Texture was grainy also. It was the end of the day, a little after 8pm — not sure if that’s what you get for end of day Gelato.

The mocha was very good. The iced latte was strong enough to put hair on my chest, but also good. Overall my experience was that of a decorated Roman gladiator

Café Lucca is one of the completely pleasurable stops on the Old Towne Orange Walking Food Tour. The atmosphere is pure Italiano! Along with free wi-fi and a full menu of tasty items, the restaurant offers a lunch special that includes a half sandwich or panini with a cup of soup and any regular drink. Wine bottles are ½ off on Monday & Wednesday. The gelato & sorbet are heavenly and homemade daily. Our servers, Cheyenne and Rachel, were super attentive, sweet, and made sure we enjoyed our visit from start to finish. I had a fabulous latte with a chocolate chip Madeleine, fresh bread, authentic manicotti, and oh-so-satisfying«Almond Joy» gelato. Everything was so delicioso, I will be back right away for more! You’ll want to try out several of the menu items. Kudos, Café Lucca, for a high-quality, real Italian food experience!

We were shopping for antiques at Orange Circle and wanted Italian food. Unilocal showed 2 or 3 nearby choices and I tried this place due to its proximity and description. We should’ve picked the other place. The folks are nice, if maybe a little overwhelmed. There weren’t too may diners inside yet everything seemed hectic. I saw only two workers handling everything. It was too much for them, apparently. My Unilocal offer for free glass of wine for checking in wasn’t honored as it was a «late lunch» and not«dinner.» Hmmmm. My mac and cheese came out frozen… not cold, frozen. And when we asked for bread from the first waiter, we were told it doesn’t come with our meals. Then the diners at the next table received a big basket of bread. So I asked the second waiter who said, «Sure, no problem.» A basket of hot, tasty bread was quickly brought out. Huh!?! My wife enjoyed her lasagna and latte. Walking by the other Italian place a little while later, I knew I’d made a mistake by eating at Café Lucca. The other place, defined as «upscale» or «ritzy» was really just casual eating. I’ve learned a lesson: when hungry for good food, even if wearing jeans, it’s best to choose the better spot. C’est all vie. Not recommended at all.

Came here to get coffee with a friend on a Monday morning. The interior of the café is so lovely! It’s very intimate but you still have your own space. I really like that you can choose to sit inside, on the outside patio, or outside. The only thing that I didn’t love was the price of my coffee. $ 5.90 for an iced vanilla latte? I think that’s the most I’ve ever spent on coffee. Overall, a quaint café located near the roundabout of Downtown Orange. Besides coffee, you can order food & gelato. It’s a nice place, but I wouldn’t go here too often if the coffee is going to put a big dent in my wallet.

This place gets 5 stars for their gelato and 1 star for their food — so that balances out to about a 3. Got the Milan panini. The bread was very dry and hard, and consequently difficult to eat. The chicken pesto combo was okay but nothing special. My friend ordered a salad that looked like a salad kit from the grocery store. Not incentivized to come back and order any food. The gelato, however, is order at the counter, and was to die for. I would come back in a heartbeat for this!

Only did a quick stop by for some gelato and a biscotti. The gelato wasn’t that good. I ordered a small mixed berry gelato, and it didn’t taste like mixed berries at all. Entirely too sweet not a single bit of tartness. Next the biscotti, I was intrigued by the flavor of the biscotti: CHERRY. Looked yummy. It wasn’t that great. It was more like a stale piece of bread. No crunch to it. I didn’t care for anything I bought here. For now I’d say skip this place.
