Good carnitas tacos. but not amazing, the alpastor taco was dissapointing. My search for an awesome taco place continues.

This place is really good! Kind of small and dirty inside, and the counter to order is kind of awkward as you have to stand in a little aisle on the side. Ordered the 2 taco special for $ 4.25 comes with beans and rice. They also bring you chips and salsa if you’re dining in, or give it to you to go. Tacos are 1.50 $ each and they are big tacos! 2 – 3 will definitely stuff me. I ordered the barbacoa(BBQ beef) and chicharron(fried pork skin). The BBQ beef was okay I wouldn’t get it again, but the chicharron was so good! The pork was friend to perfection and had a nice crunch. The tortilla chips were really good. My only complaint is the salsa, although had a nice spice to it, was very very watery. It would just slide off my chips… I like my salsa chunky, but I guess you can’t argue with free. Definitely a good deal, will be back to try other tacos!

1.50 tacos. Some of you call them street tacos. But the rest of us call them authentic tacos. Yes double corn tortilla. Lots of meat. Your choice. And when I say your choice I mean carnitas, carne asada, buche(pork belly), barbacoa, al pastor, chicken, chorizo ect. They are mainly soft tacos but if you like them crunchy they make them also. I’m so happy we found this on accident. We’ll sort of. We found it on Unilocal but we were in the area returning a suit. And hungry. Julie found the place while we started to drive away. And another great choice. For people who haven’t found this place you need to look it up and come here. People keep coming in. And half the people that have come in while I’ve been eating my tacos are new customers who have heard of this place by word of mouth. You can tell the difference between regulars and new comers. Regulars know where they are going. All others come in and start staring at everything. From the murals to to the menu. This place is a happy place for your nose. But a heavenly place for your mouth. If you are looking for great taste, inexpensive and lots of meat. Come here. Ok so you are wondering why 4 stars. Well it’s cash only. And no refills. But you can buy Mexican Coke. And they have Menudo Sat and Sun. Secret is out.

I’ve eaten at hundreds of taquerias and this place has the best carnitas tacos I have found. This place gets packed. I’ve been here before when there was no room to stand, sit, park or breathe. I would not recommend to ever come here at lunch or a weekend if you are in a hurry. It’s well worth the wait or just take it home or to the park. Cash only. Chips and salsa provided with every order.

I’ve been coming here for decades… great tacos and fresh salsas. They serve with chips when you order. Small place and can get packed sometimes. Cooks in the back don’t make eye contact much but they serve quickly. Can’t complain.

I was so happy with my take out experience, I came back here with Stephen to dine in on a weekend. We arrived a little after 12, and as I thought, it was busy. Lucky for us, one table was leaving, so I had Stephen grab it while I ordered our food. I wanted to try their menudo but at noon, it was already sold out. So I decided on getting tacos for us, and without the beans or rice, as last time 2 tacos with chips filled me up quite nicely. I stayed with the namesake of 2 carnitas tacos, and for Stephen got him a carnitas, barbacoa, and chorizo taco, plus 2 large diet cokes. Total came to just over $ 11 and change. Talk about cheap eats! The cashier told me to sit down and they’ll bring out our drinks, which also came with chips, house salsa and pickled carrots/jalapenos. The chips were nice and crunchy, but I had to hold back on eating all of them. Stephen really liked his tacos, and saved the chorizo for last. It was his favorite, even though it was so spicy, he literally was sweating! Seriously, homeboy had sweat rolling down his face. He couldn’t stop eating the taco. LOVE the food, love the prices. just wish they had a bigger place and better parking. Overall a 5 star experience. Just a reminder: Cash only. There’s an ATM machine at the door if you forget

I was in the area and hungry so I Unilocaled nearby Mexican food, and this place was the second hit. So I thought I’d give it a try. I grew up in San Diego, and have always loved Mexican food, particularly how they do it there. This place reminded me of some of my favorite SD Mexican joints in terms of the inside setup. I can’t say I ate tons of carnitas during those years, but lately I’ve grown to really enjoy it. So, I ordered 2 carnitas tacos, 1 carne asada taco, and 1 al pastor taco. They were all solid, but I have to say that the carnitas were some of the best Ive had recently. If you are a local who enjoys Mexican food and haven’t already tried this place, it’s a must. Highly recommend.
