Food was decent. The deal killer here was the OWNER dropped my cup on the floor, filled it up with coke, and handed it to me. As if I wouldn’t notice or care. So, I said nothing, got my food cooked, then went to a different employee to ask for a replacement. No funny business. I had not even put the straw in my drink but his employee’s are not allowed to simply just replace the drink for me, they must get manager approval. Awkward. This place must be run like a dictatorship. The owner who dropped my cup was the same person who gave me a replacement. Even for the mall food court this place fell far far below my expectations. Other than this, The experience was typical to any buffet, tongs laying in the food is just par for the course, the nice thing about Mongolian is that it all gets cooked afterwards. Bring some hand sanitizer.

This place is definitely a case of the best thing in the worst mall food court that I know of. Basically every other place that I have eaten at here is beyond disgusting and this is barely acceptable. How is that for a ringing endorsement haha I have never seen a line for any of the restaurants in this random part of the Orange Mall apparently dubbed a food court. However at least this place has fresh veggies(i think) and cuts of normal meats. Pro Tip: They provide you with a separate bowl for sauce n noodles so stack her high when in line The service here is awfully fast, but that is likely due to the fact that after they take your money, you do 90% of the work yourself… picking what it is that you want, getting the grub into a bowl and stacking properly to maximize your caloric intake or to set yourself up for seconds =D While they do take credit cards, they do not take AmEx. The guys who work the grill are typical in the efficiency as I am sure that they have done this long enough to have lost count as to how many meals that they have cooked. The noodle/saucier is also quick as you guide her as to what you want added to your bowl of noodles for sauces and minced garlic. Overall its passable and when compared to the other crap here, it was head and shoulders above the rest. So give it a whirl if you are hankering for some massive amounts of grub on a fairly cheap pricing scale…

The food was fast, fresh and tasted delish. Yes, parking is difficult at this Mall and yes, their prices are high for the quality and quantity. However, I was craving a Mongolian Stir fry and this currently is the nearest place. We wanted to go shopping afterwards, so its location is an added bonus. I had to ask how their system worked as I’ve never eaten here before. You simply take a bowl and start adding what cuts of meat and veggies you like. They had shavings of Pork, Beef, Chicken and Turkey. The veggies ranged from broccoli, mushrooms, onions to bean sprouts. The cashier added the condiments and sauces. She added a huge amount of crushed garlic(1⁄3 c) and I had to ask her to remove half. Sounds delish, but was a bit too much for the portion. Sauce was a bit too sweet. Could have use less of that flavor.

So much hate with the other reviews, figure I needed to give some love. Everything was fresh, and tasted great. Much better than some of the highly rated joints on here.

I really like this place. You have to think realistically. It’s not a restaurant. It’s in a mall food court. The food is great. It’s easy and quick. You get a lot of food for a great price. It’s usually clean, but it’s not perfect. The staff isn’t the nicest, but you’re only talking to them for like ten seconds anyway. Parking is a nightmare, but it’s at the mall, so you have to suck it up. The food is awesome and that’s all that matters. I come here a few times a month on a regular basis.

I went on my lunch time and the place was clean not too busy and the lady actually told me to put more on my plate!!! The taste was decent for mall food. The concept and the way it’s cooked is cool so I give them a thumbs up for that. Little pricey 9 bucks for a combo.

As far as shopping mall-based Mongolian restaurants go, this one is good. I went with my wife and we have been to the best Mongolian restaurants, and this one is as good as it gets. They have a large selection of meat and vegetable choices, and give you plenty of noodles. They provide enough food to fill you up on a single serving. The food was hot, thoroughly mixed, and good tasting. So if you happen to be in or around the Village Way Mall in Orange, California, I highly recommend giving this place a try. If you like Mongolian and are really into flavor and a wide variety of choices, this is for you. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be returning.

Food-meh Service-meh Kind of pricey and they hover while you fill the bowl, that’s annoying.

This bothered me: The tongs – the ones used by the hands(clean or not) of every single, solitary person who had inched his or her way along the Mongolian Grill’s counter – were lying inside the beef container, touching and contaminating everything! If you’re a regular and never before noticed, it’s simply because those tongs had been re-adjusted before your arrival. That, or possibly my one-and-only encounter was isolated. You choose. For the record, I tried to dismiss it and look the other way. It wasn’t easy. I took a deep breath, bit my lip, and opted for the chicken. This was check-in tip #1. This concerned me: Upon reaching the sauces, and immediately after I began introducing them to my bowl, the front-counter girl said that only she added sauces. Not me. Haha, ok. There weren’t many choices anyway, and despite the fact that I rather enjoy concocting my own flavors – isn’t that part of the fun? – I handed over my bowl and she determined my needs. Hello, tip #2 – my glance, then averted to my cell. This upset me: The next thing I knew, my poor judgement – an unappealing brownish-orange, emptied onto a Styrofoam plate – was waiting for me. Now, I don’t eat noodles, but the girl had scooped in noodles anyway. I was busy Unilocaling. Me: «I didn’t ask for noodles.» She: «You didn’t say you didn’t want noodles.» Me: «I didn’t say I didn’t want celery either, but you didn’t add that.» She: «Hold on.» She whispers something to the cook. I wait for him to begin someone else’s meal first, someone who was in line behind me. Then he waddles over to me from behind the bbq. This made me laugh: He: «What’s the problem?» Me: «I don’t eat noodles.» He: «You didn’t say you didn’t want noodles.» Me: «I didn’t know you were going to add something without asking me first. Do you think that I knew you added noodles, waited for you to cook noodles, and then decided to tell you I don’t want the noodles so that I could march to the end of the line and start over again?» He accepts no fault. I want my money back. His tone becomes condescending. He begins with one of those well-we-will-do-it-THIS-time-but… I have to stop him. Once this kind of response comes at me, I turn. I’m uninterested. There won’t be a next time, trust me. And those filthy tongs? Intuition pays off. :)

I dont’ consider myself the mall food type of guy but this time around, I tried it because my mom wanted it so badly. I like my food fresh and I decided to try it because it did seem like it. After placing my order and having them grill my food, yeap, it was indeed fresh tasting. I spoke with the owner too, this lady, and she was ever so nice. She spoke of how slow business has been due to the economy and after hearing that, I wished her business would thrive. Right after us, i counted 12 customers line up. It was the most odd spectacle but it happened! BAM! Customers line up. Great food and fresh, i’ll be back.

This was our first experience with Mongolian food. We’ve walked by many of these grills in malls but never stopped to try. My fiancé and I are totally fascinated with the process. We enjoy watching the customers pack their bowls with meat and top it off with veggies. We try to pick up on everyone’s strategies to get the most meat packed into that bowl. And watching the guy cooking work his giant chopstick magic is like a free show. We decided on the combo, comes with rice and a fountain drink for 8.99. We stuffed our little bowl with as much meat as we could possibly do and then piled on the veggies. The final product = so much food, good thing we shared. Overall everything was pretty good. My only complaint is that the noodles did not have enough flavor. I felt like it could have been sweeter.

I struggled with rating this Orange mall favorite. It does smell great when you walk by, I’ve had some good meals here, the employees are usually pretty friendly, they give you a huge portion of food, and I love that they have pineapple. The downsides? –I agree with the comment of the noodles taking over everything else. They just put WAY too many noodles in there. My fav Mongolian grills don’t even put noodles in the bowl, which I actually prefer. –They have this shrimp you can add to your bowl(for an extra cost) which is the cheapest shrimp you can buy. They give you a little sandwich bag with your shrimp chillin it to give to the cook and there was just something strange about holding my bag ‘o shrimp in line. And then when I went to eat my meal, I noticed how cheap the shrimp really was because of the little black line of, um, shrimp feces(?) that I had to pull out of each shrimp, which is just kind of gross. –They do tend to overcook the food a bit. So, here’s the deal: Go to Panera Bread or Famous Dave’s or Chipotle in the parking lot of the mall. In fact, go to Tikiyaki across the street from the mall! I know the smell of Mongolian Grill is intoxicating and so tempting, and hell, maybe you’ll enjoy it. But this is not where you go for good Mongolian BBQ.

Well, this wasn’t the worst food I ever ate, nor the worst service but something about it just didn’t quite gel together. The shop itself is quite small and cramped creating a need for the Asian lady behind the counter to direct the customer traffic. Unfortunately it seemed that the customers during my visit were too stupid to grasp what she was trying to accomplish. Regardless the food itself was quite plentiful but the sauces tasted different from other locations and my dish came out almost sweet, like Yakisoba minus the spicy(spice not heat) quality about it. Oh and there were no chopsticks. For some reason I have a really hard time eating things like Mongolian BBQ without chopsticks and get really bummed when things don’t seem to fall into place.

Are you serious? I am surprised how highly rated this place is. maybe these peeps don’t venture outside of Orange to eat or have been to a real Mongolian BBQ place. This place smells great and tastes good but its not a 4 star so don’t get your hopes up. Its a quick fix to get rid of your craving but thats all!

I swear I’m addicted to this place. I come at least once a week even though it’s about 15 – 20 minutes out of my way. This place is not fancy at all, it’s in a mall food court. With $ 8 you get a drink, rice, and the make it yourself mongolian bbq bowl. Their selection of meats and veggies is pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary here! Everything is fresh, and I like how the meats all have little sliding doors to keep the germies out :) And I really like that they have tofu though, some places seem to skip out on that. Also, they add so many noodles that there is no way I could ever finish one bowl by myself. I usually get one and have it for approximately 3 meals, which is the best bargain, ever.
My onlyyy problem with this place is PARKING. I can NEVER find any unless I come at the weirdest times. I usually have to drive around for a while before I find a spot :(but obviously, that minor set back has not stopped me from coming here!

I would have enjoyed this more if: 1. They had given me a spoon or fork at the beginning to mash down the frozen curls of beef so I could put more veggies in my bowl instead of having to gingerly balance my bowl on the way to the sauces. 2. They had put either more sauce or fewer noodles during the cooking process. The noodles seriously diluted the flavor of my meal. Service is friendly, price is decent for enough food for three people(thanks to the noodle overload).

Where do I begin, when it comes to the potency of taste, this place gets 10 thumbs up. While it is not a fancy upscale Mongolioan restaurant; it provides fast, efficient, freindly service, with a clean and safe environment while cooking up really great beef, noodles, rice, veggies and more. 8 dollars will get you thier special, choice of meats, rice, soup, veggies, etc. Parking may be hard some hours because its inside the village mall on Tustin/Village way. You may also be distracted by the Japanese buffet, Chinese busy bee, Greek, Italian, etc etc. After you pay, you get in line and stack on as much uncooked beef, pork and chicken as you would like. I had not ate since yesterday so I packed on the beef. The cooks were not Mongolian, but as good as the flavor was, you may think Mongolia is in Mexico. Kudos to this place, no complaints so far, I will be back, and next time, I will also take some pics.

This Mongolian Grill is one of the restaurants in the food court of Orange Mall(aka The Village). It’s next to BusyBee(Chinese fast food). I was meeting my sister and her friend but since her friend has a 1pm meeting so we came a little earlier for lunch. Very clean and nice food court. Not very busy maybe because we came before lunch crowd. I wish there were more restaurant then I am sure it will be busy. I got the combo plate which consists of mongolian, soup, rice + small drink. It’s quite a lot for $ 7.99. Next time I would get just the mongolian and drink. Their soup is veggie, tomato soup. It’s pretty tasty and maybe a little tag sour but with the rice, it’s good. I am no expert on Mongolian BBQ but for a food court place, it’s quite decent. The bowl that they give you it’s small. So, you need to maximize the amount of meat and veggie. Place you meat around the bowl like a flower then stack on the veggie in the middle. I usually just like pea sprouts, mushroom, onion, scallion and cabbage plus beef. I asked the cook to add garlic and all the other sauces. It’s so cool to see him maneuver the food with this big chopsticks. Food it’s pretty tasty. I was really full. Still have a little leftover maybe I’ll save it for breakfast!
