Fairly simple procedure — I had to do a urine test and blood draw as part of my signing up as a potential customer of State Farm’s life insurance. This was the listed center closest to my home address so I set up my appointment here. I actually didn’t pick up a few times when they had called due to not being available but they were gently persistent & tried me at various times in the day in case one was better or the other. Cool. I even had to reschedule once too, and the change was easy to do. I got there about 15 minutes earlier than my appointment. I suppose they must have been busy though because I didn’t get called in until about 15 minutes after my appointment time. Boooo. However, my attending was cordial enough so early in the morning. She explained to me that there would be two people in observance of the run-through as they were training. Okie doke. Urine test seemed a little strange for me since the ones I’ve done at doctors usually give you a sanitary wipe for beforehand… to make sure your sample is a-okay. They didn’t have it here & I even inquired. Nowhere to put the sample afterward but on top of the toilet tank too. They retrieved it later I’m assuming. In the exam room, she let one of those in training do my height and weight. He scared me for a moment when he incorrectly had the weights on the scale so it was reading 20+ lbs heavier than I recalled being. Eesh! Luckily it got fixed. Blood pressure reading was fine with the official examiner. Letting the student in training try it out resulted in a few painful moments though as he underestimated the length and strength of which the cuff squeezed(he didn’t let the air out of it…). Then they tapped my arms to check which juicy vein was ready to be pricked. Of course the official examiner didn’t let THEM do it. She was fairly quick and gentle about it herself so that was good. However, something must have not gone completely smoothly as I ended up sporting a hefty bruise in the area for the next few days. Whoops.
