REALLYGOODONIONRINGS. I have had the small but mighty steak and it was really good. I tried the chicken fried steak which was good but too much gravy and a little bit too well done. Still finished it though :) I will be back for sure !

We decided to have a Father’s Day dinner here. We were a party of 12 and it was our first time at this steakhouse. Wow! Were we surprised! The steaks were fantastic. The portions were big and the prices were just right. Not only was the food great, the service was excellent. Our servers, Mary and Jamie, made us feel at home. They were courteous, funny and professional. We are definitely coming back. You can’t beat the quality, the prices, and the service here.

The steaks here are AMAZING !!! Best steak(sirloin steak) I have ever had and I have had a lot of steak! Cooked to perfection and the flavor is fantastic !! A full steak dinner with all the yummy side dishes for a great price. The ambiance is a bit lacking, reminiscent of 70’s steak house, but the steak and great side dishes make up for that 100 fold. This has become our«go to» place for steak. Even our snobby friends will accompany us here because the food and service are sooooo good !!! GETTHESIRLOINSTEAK :)

I havevt been there’s gut probably 15 years. Had fond memories come going with family and friends. A friend decided to take me for a pre bday dinner. We were there 20 min waiting in our booth no one asked us if we wanted anything. At one point I asked if he could take out order. He said yes be there walked by us 5 more times. All 5 of us got up and walked out. I eat out a lot I have never had this BAD of service in my life. I will NEVER go back or reconnect this restaurant.

This is a cute, old fashioned steak house with reasonable prices. My dad is a senior and likes an inexpensive glass of wine and a meal, so a perfect place for him. Our meals were fresh and tasty. The salad was green,(not just iceberg). The only improvement they could make is to add a vegetable to their dinner entrees. Essentially you get soup or salad, meat and potato. I am sure you could substitute a vegetable. In this day and age people are health conscious and would appreciate a vegetable on their plate.

You know that once every 5 – 10 month craving for a rare steak?! Being new to town, my step-dad suggested to old restaurant! I ordered 2 filet Mignon steaks WITHOUT bacon wrap! Wow! Without bacon the filet mignon falls into separate pieces of meat! As I’m aware the filet is always one hunk of meat, BUTNOTATSTEERIN! I returned it immediately and was offered a free steak made the right way! A woman who received my return called over the wait staff to have my request, and the waiter explained to her that ALL the steaks are like that when they ARENOTWRAPPEDWITHBACON! I can only expect they are using industry«meat glue»! I didn’t even cut into my steak, it was so disappointing! The onion rings were super good, although you only get 6 large rings for around $ 5! I also ordered a salmon dinner for my mother but we didn’t taste it because it was returned along with the steak. The Salmon did look promising and they cooked the accompanying steak fries crispy as requested! The filet meal I ordered was about $ 16, it comes with a side and two filets. I ended my night by paying double that for a filet mignon from Claim Jumper! Where CJ made it perfectly rare and the size was the size of steer inns two combined! For a place that«specializes» in steaks, I will never recommend this place to try unless you are on a strict budget and like to pretend you are eating Quality food! There was only 2 or 3 other couples there when I arrived to pick up my food. And once I looked at my filet mignon, I can see why steer inn doesn’t have a line out the door that often!

They just raised their prices, Ouch. food is good, but no more value proposition. They charged $ 18 per bottle for two buck chucks twin sister Salmon Creek. their special is now $ 17. go down the street to black angus and get a better experience now that the prices are too high.

2nd time coming here and just as shitty as the first time. Filet mignon steaks are horrible! Both times. Garlic bread leaves much to be desired. Also, the restaurant always has a strange, unpleasant smell. Never come here! Go to Lonestar Steakhouse instead. Only a few dollars more, way better quality.

My husband got the specialty steak and liked it. I got the salmon. It was cold and flavorless. Worst was I only ate one bite and the server never question it.

Met my parents for dinner. One of their go to joints. We ordered the same meal. Plank steak for two. They ordered theirs medium well(came out medium), ordered ours medium. It came out blood rare in the middle. We sent it back, where the kitchen cut it into pieces, then pan seared it. Then sent it back out. Still blood rare in the middle of many parts. Soooo, we sent it back. Because my parents had finished, we asked them to cancel our order. The waitress then charged us ala carte for the dinner salads(part of the meal) and the baked potatoes(of which one was about ten fries instead of a potato due to a screw up). So we ended with a 65 dollar tab after our jacked up meal was sent back. Pretty much insured we will never go back. Really? Charge us for a side of fries that you screwed up when it was only about 10 fries?

I had the rib eye steak and it was likely the cheapest cut of meat and worst steak I have had in a long, long time. Fatty, gristle laden and flavorless. My parents use to come here 20 years ago and I came back for nostalgia reasons. I won’t be back and you should also find another steak house. I had that steak craving and was hoping for so much more. Very disappointing.

This is my favorite steakhouse in this price range. I can only review the Small but mighty sirloin dinner because that’s all I ever order. It really is a great steak and always cooked perfectly. The meal comes with a salad, yummy bread and baked potato. The service is always really friendly. Regarding the 2 star review someone left about this being for old people… don’t you know old people always eat at places with good food? This isn’t an overly priced hipster place, but the quality and service is well worth the value.

This place is right by my house always drive by it so I thought I would give it a try. So it’s nothing special at all, very plane. This place is for old people that like home town buffet. This is there kind of stake house. I have taste buds so I’ll stick 2 Morton’s Steakhouse

After over 2 years of battling health issues and SSDI, my parents decided to take me and my husband out for dinner to celebrate. We’ve read the reviews for this place, though some are scattered we figured we’d give them a try… Really should have listened to the scattered reviews on this place. The atmosphere is great, the staff is just as out of this world awesome but the food is lacking… drastically lacking. My dads chicken fried steak was so overly cooked and sad looking. Sadly, that was not the worst part. My moms steak had literally gone bad. That was the most grotesque taste I’ve ever experienced. The waitress had no problem fixing the issue but showed no concern of it as well. That’s a scary thought. Not to mention, the unsweetened tea was disgusting. Mild taste of mold. Such a cute place, but we will NOT be back.

Love this place it makes for a great dine in dinner for my wife and I. I just started Unilocaling a little more than a week ago otherwise this is 1 of many places t h at would have already got a review from me. We get the plank steak for 2. We both get a dinner salad then my wife gets french fries while I get a baked potato. I still can’t believe we we get an awesome steak dinner and we both walk out of here with full and happy bellies and don’t even spend 50 bucks.

Since I work right down the street, I thought I’d give this place a shot. Saw that they had the same rating as Black Angus and stopped in. I’m a huge fan of steak. But I don’t like it red or bloody. I know some steak enthusiasts would say then you don’t like steak. Well I’d say I like mine cook. Haha When I walked in the door, I was concerned by the limited amount of patrons in the restaurant. It was lunch time, but I sat down and it was probably one of the better decisions I’ve had lately. Haha. My food was brought out on a hot plate and god it was good. By far better than black angus and try their specialty steak.

Hoped for far better food at this established steak restaurant in S. Orange. Sawdust on the floor, Old booths and kind of that fried food smell of old oil, paint the picture for this poor hapless joint due for a remodel. All three different steaks could have been far better and the«special steak», well lets just say that it may not have been from a cow. Could not figure out the cut of meat. To make matters worse it was far overcooked. My lady just gave up. On the bright side, the service was admirable and the Cesar Salads were pretty good. Prices seemed fair on the way in but for the quality, I am disappointed and will not return.

We give it 4 stars because their specialty steak is pretty good! The place was quite a pleasant surprise. Wasn’t was I expected considering the exterior was quite blah. We just tried it because it was local. . The interior, I thought was quite fun. Throwback kinda(don’t exactly know what Era((lol) but it was fun! Well be back! Good job feeding the hungry guys!

The steak was good enough, cooked to my liking, flavorful. But I was shocked to my bootheels when I got the bill: $ 10 for a large Bud Lite. Are you kidding me? I can’t remember if I’ve ever paid that much for a beer ever! Certainly not in a dive-y place like this. My advise: ask how much the drinks cost before you order.

My partner and I had had a helluva day the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend when he uttered those marvelous words so many women love to hear, «How about I take you out to dinner?» Music to my ears. Well seeing as we’d been enjoying a Poultry fest of Turkey for the previous 2 and half days, I gotta tell you a number of our usual possible venues where at least part of what we’d have been eating would have include a little chicken, which was too close a cousin to Turkey to be considered, my first thoughts upon imaging the possibilities feel upon Steer Inn. He’d mentioned it before as a good solid steak place with really reasonable prices. I started to have fantasies of a steak and nice glass of wine. A red. Perhaps a merlo or a cab? I was in Red Meat and Red Wine fantasy land. He agreed. We got there kinda early evening. It was nice. The holiday decorations were up but not excessive. It was family hour for dinner with a number of families eating in the huge booths with kids in tow. It was very friendly and down to earth in their ambiance. Steer Inn has been same family owned for years. Yes, there is clean saw dust on the floor, so leave your flip flops and sandals at home. I selected the Small Amazing 8oz steak. Great price. Good steak. Juicy. My baked potato wasn’t quite. But for me, that wasn’t a prob. They wrapped my tater in aluminum foil. It wasn’t quite DONE. NP, b/c with SO much food, I had to bring some home. They put their«BUTTERBLEND» upon it. Just take it home so you can put your real butter on it. My only real disappointment is with their wine. i didn’t even select the house red, which I can only imagine tasted worse. I just wish they would upgrade their wine offering a wee bit. I would have gladly paid a few bucks more for a decent tasting red wine. It just taste bad. Friendly and casual. They don’t take reservations so if you are a large group, you just have to hope it’ll work out. Nor will they seat your party until everyone is there even if those are there are willing to start ordering. Not a problem for us whatsoever, but it’s an important detail to note for larger parties. My steak came with a predinner garden salad and undercooked potato. No side of veggies(Broccoli, Cauliflower?) like 99% if the places give. Just for a few bucks more at Carrows or Outback, I could have had and awesome Prime Rib(and take home for lunch tomorrow), dinner salad, side o’ veggies, and a good side tater. They do a butter/crap, it’s margarine blend. Like sizzlers, if you love butter like I do, bring your own. No sour cream and chives offered. Good in many ways, just a little disappointing in other.
