The seafood is good. Some people said that there is uni here. Came here multiple times for dinner and inquired about uni and they don’t have it. Their sashimi is good, though, and the oysters are also yummy. Some of the desserts are okay. Pretty decent price for an AYCE place.

Loved this place. Loved the food, service was okay, but now they’re gone. Looks like the only one left is in San Jose. I will miss the lobster, crab legs, sushi, beef bulgogi and other wonderful seafood.

I was there on September 18 for my wife’s birthday dinner. I knew Todai was not the Todai like before but this place was far worst than any other buffet I experienced $ 27.00 for WHAAAT Sushi with bad fish odors, rubbery vegetables, Leather like crawfish, dried rock hard tempura $ 13.00 Chinese buffet would been much better than this place. I complain to waitress she stood there whiteout any reaction finally said is that right and sorry. I was so pissed but I decide not to elevate the issue cause I felt they don’t have any pride and intention to make the place better. No wonder so many TODAI is out of business And this location had 10 + customers when I walk in on FRIDAYNIGHT DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!! ONESTARFORFAREWELL

Todai Orange is very famous when it comes to their primary seafood dishes. From their lobster to their clam. Oozing with freshness from the sea. You can fairly taste how sweet and how lovely the lobster taste like. Fresh seafood. That’s what I assure you.

Not worth the price on an empty Friday night. Used to be cheaper and better . The price went up and the quality went down. I suggest saving your money and go to Panda Express across the parking lot for better food than putting up with food that sells on the premise used to good. I do not think Todai read’ s their reviews.

Food was tasteless the«hot food» was not even warm at all. Was hoping to get what I paid for(over 50 $) not worth it whatsoever I had a bad experience with my husband and the staff only come when you flag them down and look annoyed My rate –0 stars

Not sure where to start, but I could begin with saying that I should have listened to all the previously written reviews. People saying«it’s way too expensive for what it’s worth», I can validate this fact. I have had more options and better quality food at other seafood buffet restaurants for $ 10. I tried bits of everything. Their sushi was pretty disappointing, it just didn’t have a great taste. Orange chicken looked good but tasted like something that had been microwaved from a frozen box. That’s how most of their foods tasted, as if they were just microwaved or not even fully cooked. The two things I liked were their spicy calamari and steamed rice. Everything else was just not so great. Although the food was bad, their service was on point and the service was great. I would still less likely to recommend this place due to how expensive it is for very poor quality elementary cafeteria school food. Try and read all the reviews. This place is way too expensive for the low quality food, I couldn’t emphasis this anymore. I won’t be coming back here until changes are made.

To be honest, the only reason why I come here is because the parents want to come for a birthday dinner or just because. I would never just come here because I feel like it. I’d rather go to hometown buffet. This place is overpriced for what it is, but my parents love it. That’s why I keep coming, not because I want to. BUT, parking is plentiful.

Been here the other day and the experience was not that good. I would highly recommend their food but not their service. The place is not that cleaned, I hope they manage to do something about it before they start losing customers like seriously, I am not a fan of this place and if their service doesn’t change. It will remain like that.

Overpriced poor quality food. Sushi loaded with rice, sashimi is rubbery. Outdated furniture. Bathroom cleanup need to keep up with weekend crowd. When we came there were two ajumma servers complaining aloud about the previous crowd’s tip. My dad loves his place because he loves Korean buffets and can’t smell or taste well. Never coming back.

I am very disappointed with this Todai! They posted the attached(in the photo section of this Todai) Facebook posting on their Facebook page. It offered 15% off of lunch. We came in because of the offer. We ate our lunch and when we went to pay they refused to accept the coupon. We asked why not and they just said they would not accept it. Shame on you Todai! If you post a discount on your social media site, you really should accept it. Either that, or post on your door that you will not be accepting it so one can choose if they still want to eat there! You really need to get you act together! As for the food, it was actually pretty good. The buffet was well stocked. 90% looked fresh and most everything I ate tasted fresh. There was a nice selection of sushi rolls. A little lacking on actual sushi selection and zero shashimi to choose from. Service was good. Attentive but not overly done. My drink was never empty which is very important to me! I would have really liked to have given them a better mark, but I just can’t get past them offering a discount to get you in and then not letting you use it when you go to pay! Not good at all!

Rule of Thumb for any place that serves Mass Quantity Food, Walk into the Bathroom first… Is it one you’d be ok using(for number 2 ?) I made that mistake, I took my Brother and Mom for her Birthday Dinner. The silver wear was rusty, the sushi dishes mediocre, and the day after spent on the Toilet, They might as well give you a 99cents store bottle of Pepto when you leave… not to mention when I asked for a Military discount(On Memorial Day Monday) as my Brother is a Navy Officer, the lady said No discounts on holidays(On Memorial Day). We paid 29 $ plus tax per person, for what became a 2 day Diarrhea Fest. I would never go back. The Chairs were dirty/rusty, overall décor seemed cheap, Cleanliness Subpar.

I’ve only been to this Todai once – the BF and I were invited to join some friends visiting from Oahu for dinner – and I had a great experience. I don’t go to Todai very often at all — in Hawaii, there’s one location in Waikiki, and when our family went there for Christmas Eve dinner one year, I wasn’t very impressed. However, I ate a GOOD amount at this Todai – definitely kept up with the guys – and would be willing to return to the eatery, if a similar location ever came up. Since we went to Todai for dinner on a weeknight – I believe it was a Thursday – the eatery wasn’t crowded at all, so our group of four had a yummy meal and a great discussion. The different food stations were easy to navigate through, too. Here’s some of what I got: Inari: This is one of the super, super basic choices when it comes to sushi, but I usually get one piece of inari because I like its light flavor and no-fuss, no-frills element. This is about as plain as you can get, when it comes to sushi! California Roll: I don’t like too much raw fish, so this is one of my favorite rolls to get. I usually take out the cucumber, but I like imitation crab. I’m not too hard to please when it comes to sushi, and I got a few pieces of this roll to start off with. Philadelphia Roll: Philly rolls = rolls with cream cheese, so I usually get a few pieces if this option is available at buffets. Besides, the Philadelphia rolls that I’ve enjoyed in the past came topped with unagi – one of my absolutely favorites – making this roll a must-get whenever I see it. Shrimp Tempura: I’ve always liked shrimp tempura more than vegetable tempura, and I don’t mind if there’s a lot of crunchy batter when it comes to tempura(conversely, I get annoyed if there’s too little batter). I love shrimp tempura and I always have to be careful to not get too much and save room to try other things at the buffet. Unagi Roll: I’m sure to love anything with unagi – rolls, entrees, etc. – so getting pieces of the unagi roll was a no-brainer! There were tiny pieces of unagi on top of each rice ball, and I readily enjoyed the fresh taste. Fried Rice: I like fried rice more than regular rice, so I got several scoops of this starch at the buffet. Though it may not have been the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted in my life, I enjoyed it. The flavor was light and though this fried rice contained some veggies, it wasn’t too overwhelming for me. I prefer my fried rice on the plainer side – spam, eggs and minimal vegetables – but this Todai version didn’t include too many mix-ins(onions, etc.) so I still enjoyed every bite. Gyoza: Gyoza is probably one of my favorite appetizers at ramen shops, so I was sure to grab 1 – 2 pieces at Todai. I like it when the exterior is slightly crispy but not overdone, and when the meaty interior is bursting with flavor. Jumbo Shrimp: Though I prefer shrimp tempura, I do like non-breaded shrimp as well, so I usually get a few pieces of jumbo shrimp if it’s ever available. It’s always nice when the shrimp size is generous and the pieces are succulent and fresh tasting. Tonkatsu: While I prefer chicken katsu – one of my favorite local dishes from Hawaii – I like tonkatsu almost as much, and I was able to get a few pieces from the meats section. As long as the katsu has a tender, flavorful and juicy interior and a well-breaded exterior(that part’s the most important!), then I’m satisfied. I don’t remember being disappointed by the Todai version, so I’d probably get it again. Katsu of any type is all about the breading. Tofu: I always get a little bit of tofu in any buffet, just because I love its consistency and it’s a good«neutral» item. Always loved tofu and always will! Mocha Cake: I just remember that there were a lot of little bite-sized cakes available for dessert, and I grabbed a chocolaty one, since I prefer chocolate over fruits when it comes to sweets. Though the cake wasn’t really rich or super sweet, I enjoyed its light, moist texture, which was definitely needed after such a savory meal. Pasta Salad: I can’t remember seeing any sort of pasta salad in the salad section, but since I LOVE pasta salad, I’m keeping my eyes peeled for this refreshing delight then next time I ever visit Todai. I saw this as an option on the eatery’s online menu, which I thought was interesting, since Italian restaurants(not Japanese buffets) often feature pasta salad as appetizers. Still, I’m willing to try the Todai version to see what it tastes like.

The family came back to redeem their birthday certificates. First off, they no longer serve lobster, but the dinner price is still the same. Second, uni nigiri sushi needs to be asked for. I know that it is expensive and they don’t want it just sitting out. I asked for the limit of two pieces. The guy behind the counter made it and put it in my plate. The uni was green! I’ve been around seafood my whole life as our family uses to own a fish market. This could have made me really sick if consumed. The workers need be trained on safe raw seafood handling. I am just in shock as we having going to Todai since they opened in Orange County. I don’t know if I will ever come back.

First I’d like to start off by commemorating the Todai location in Westminster with a moment of silence… You served us well and your end was truly undeserving. … Okay moment’s over. Anyway, since Todai in Westminster ISGONEFOREVA(sob), we came to this location to try it out. They’ve got some similar foods as the Westminster location, but there was a lot of different ones too. Or maybe they were the same, but just of a different quality. Both the sushi and the hot food items were above-average, but the set-up/design of this location is pretty… tacky. Some random observations: The dessert items are served in plastic/disposable little cups. Lobster is served at specific times that you have to ask for. There is no ice cream. Actually, I think there is, but you have to ask the chefs behind the counter to get it for you from the freezer. How am I supposed to confront him 10+ times?! Is there crepes? Idk, the layout is not the greatest, and you might miss some of their food items if you’re not on the lookout. Like noodles. They have spicy curry Thai soup. Pretty good! They cut the apples in half to serve you. A whole half apple. Some of the tempura I got was really bad. Some were really good. Almost 4 stars… If the quality of the food was consistent, and the food/restaurant was a little nicer looking, then this Todai would def be a solid 4 stars.

Considering that this is the last Todai location in the area that’s still open(the Westminster location just recently closed), the variety here is still very good. It tends to get busier than the Westminster location and the line for the lobster(which is only served once a hour) can get very long if you don’t get there right when they start serving it. The staff is very friendly and attentive and are always on top of your drinks. Todai has closed a lot of their locations and it is kind of a shame(there used to be a location walking distance from my house) because they have always been one of the better seafood buffet chains I can think of. Just found out yesterday that this Today location is now permanently closed. So sad to see this place go because this was one of my favorite seafood buffets.

THEPLACETOBE. Came here on a Tuesday for lunch with family and it was really good! The salads here are fresh and delicious. The meats are cooked to perfection and extremely tender, juicy. The desserts could use a little work but still good nonetheless. Sushi and rolls here are delicious. Service is also superb!

I came here with my wife and daughter to celebrate Mother’s Day. We normally go to Tap’s in Brea for a Mother’s Day Brunch. But, this year, we decided to try Todai instead. We had no reservations, but, since Todai is such a big restaurant, reservations were not needed. We came in and and were quickly seated at 12 noon. They charged«Holiday» prices for Mother’s Day at around $ 35 per adult. The hostess asked us if we were«okay» with holiday prices prior to seating us. It wasn’t as if we could leave. Todai had all kinds of sushi, cooked foods, and desserts. They also had an Udon Station that my daughter loved. Their special holiday pricing included lobster and a rib roast. The lobster was served at certain times only. It was nice that they posted signs of the times that lobster would be served. In the past when I went to Todai, they never told you when they would be serving it. But, then again, their lobster is just okay. They overcooked it. Their rib roast was perfectly cooked. Most buffet restaurants cook their meats to well done because of the 2 people like me that like their meat bloody rare and the rest wanting it as a burnt offering. Todai does it right. They cook it to medium rare, and will offer to cook it more on the grill for those that need well done meat. We actaully had a good meal at Todai on Mother’s Day. Closing a majority of the locations and concentrating on this location actually did good for them. I was impressed. Yeah, it is still a buffet, and you are not going to get high quality sushi from them. But, it was a lot better than a holiday meal at Makino. It’s a lot better than the Chinese buffets!
