Love this place. I’ve only ever gone for lunch, they’re lunch specials are awesome. Good price for the meal, drink and chips and salsa(if you’re getting it to go, they give you a LOT of chips and salsa with your meal.). I always get the beef chimi. Come here at least once a month.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The service is fantastic. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. Everything is made fresh daily. It’s just simply delicious Mexican food. Nothing fancy but absolutely perfect!

Super quick service with good food. I love their chicken tostadas. Can’t go wrong. Great place!

Although there are some better Mexican restaurants in the valley, I find myself getting the Mama Chus craving quite regularly. There are some definite pro’s and con’s though. They have all the staple Mexican dishes, and some very authentic ones as well. It’s a good price for a decent amount of food. The food comes out super quick and the service is prompt. Any of the combo dishes are awesome. Everything at Mama Chus is good, but nothing amazing. It’s all pretty standard Mexican food, nothing over the top, and nothing super unique. One downfall is the salsa is insanely spicy, it’s hard to eat, and it sometimes keeps me from going here! Like wow, it’s soooo spicy, I wish they had a mild one as well so you could choose which one to get. The verdict is, I like Mama Chus and it satisfies the craving, but don’t go expecting a 5 star meal.

Mama Chu’s is pretty good. We went during a busy lunch service and got ignored most of the time we were there. Seemed like the female servers wanted to flirt with the table of men seated next to us rather than serve other customers. When you are seated, you are served chips and salsa and given a pitcher of water for your table. I like the light and crispy tortilla chips with the salsa. The salsa was rich in flavor but a bit hot for our taste. Our food came quickly and was hot. The prices are typical. I got a taco and enchilada combo. It was more than I could eat, I ended up taking home the enchilada. The people I was with got the daily lunch special which came with a drink. It was less than $ 7. They did have to ask for refills on their sodas. There was a long line of about 6 people waiting to pay their bill when we were done. The line didn’t really go down, so we had to wait in line to pay so we could leave.

I wish I could give Mama Chus a 5-star rating but for the sake of fairness I just can’t do it. There are many positives about Mama Chus and maybe just a few negatives that keep it from getting the coveted 5-star rating. First. In my dozens of times eating here the service has always been great. There is always someone there to seat you quickly which is nice. The wait staff is quite good at refilling your drink orders and the food comes out quickly. Even on busy days they are quite prompt. Second. I really like there chips and salsa. The chips come out warm and the salsa is fresh. It is fairy chunky salsa and the heat varies.(Which some might see as a negative and inconsistency.) Some days I would peg the salsa at a medium. Other days it is hotter than satans you know what. I like hot, but many friends have complained about the hotness of the salsa. Third. The portions are large and filling. Not to mention that the prices are great. I have yet to find a sit down Mexican restaurant with better prices. I love that I can get my fill of chips and salsa followed with some delicious chicken enchiladas or carne asada burrito and a coke for $ 10. If you are looking for an upscale dine-in Mexican restaurant this is not the place. If you are looking for big portions and a quick meal come and try it for yourself. I have been for the past 10 years.

Mama Chus is exactly what it needs to be. Inexpensive Mexican food with large portions and free chips and salsa. While the food may not blow you away it is delicious and cheap. Me and my wife ate there and left spending $ 15. The salsa is good and everything on the menu is done well. I like the taquitos and the beef and bean burrito!

Been here three or four times with friends who love it. It’s okay. There’s nothing totally offensive about it, but nothing that stellar either. The food is cheaper than a lot of the sit-down Mexican places around here(Los Hermanos, for example), but it also tends to be kind of bland and forgettable. Had the carnitas michoacanas and while they didn’t skimp on the guacamole and sour cream which was appreciated, the carnitas itself was tough. Service is always very prompt and friendly. 5 stars for that. If you’re just looking to fill your belly on the cheap, come on by.

Used to be a lot better. Something has changed over the years. Used to be my fav. Place to get chili Verde but it’s horrible. Slow service.

LETSGO! Mama Chu’s is your bomb, run of the mill, hole in the wall mexican joint. It is literally a shack next to a gas station. You walk in and are greeted immediately with a smile and sat almost just as fast. Chips and salsa is served fresh and the salsa is hot and fresh! They have all kinds of mexican sodas too. The lunch specials are cheap and delicious($ 5 – 6) and are all served with rice and beans. I could honestly go without their rice(I just order all beans.) Service is friendly and FAST. You can get in and out of here in a 30 minute lunch if you needed to. MY favorites are the chicken enchiladas(green sauce), flautas, taquitos, and their tacos(hard or soft shell), and again I prefer two sides of their beans over their rice. The rice is fine just kinda flavorless so I usually end up dumping some of the salsa on it. I would definitely recommend this place. Its authentic mexican, not fresh. But that is how mexican should be in my opinion.

Your dollar does go a long way here, but I’d prefer to pay more for, well, more. I got a daily lunch special at a killer price, then regretted it. It was the taco salad and the server literally brought it out to me 30 seconds after ordering. Really? This means the daily specials are pre-made and sitting in the back waiting for the lunch rush, or someone else ordered it before me, then changed their minds and the restaurant didn’t want to waste a perfectly good taco salad. Either way, the risk is that I’m getting something akin to a fast food joint – something that’s been sitting in the back getting cold. So was it cold? Sadly, yes. The chicken was overdone, tough, bland, and cold. The beans were good but cold. The guac was fine. The taco shell itself was okay, the portions were a lot smaller than I’m used to(which is okay. .. it’s healthier at any rate), again the price is good. But I’d much rather pay more and wait longer for hot food. I’m not coming to places like this thinking I’m getting fast food. In fact, I want to sit down. I want to be served. I want to take my time. I want to enjoy what you’re selling, so why rush things?

Mama Chus is a pretty solid Mexican restaurant. Service is pretty quick, and the food is good. We enjoy the standard chips and salsa, and appreciate that they’ll bring heated tomato salsa for the kids. Service can decline a bit when it gets crowded, and it has generally been pretty noisy every time we’ve gone. If you enjoy beef dishes, I highly recommend the Bistec en Rajitas. I’ve tried various items on the menu and always come back to my hands-down favorite. Remember this: BISTECENRAJITAS. Overall, for us, this is one of those places we go to a couple times a year when we get a craving. We’ve always left satisfied(i.e. not too full, and not too empty). The kids always love getting a free sucker at the cash register. We usually enjoy a walk along the Provo River Trail afterwards.
