David Collins Painting

David Collins painting is an excellent company. He just completed doing a 5 story tall sorority house in Berkeley which I manage. His staff was very professional, reliable and did excellent work. They used premium materials and paint and took careful measure with the prep. The new paint looks beautiful! I highly recommend David Collins painting.

He’s the real deal. How refreshing to have someone who really knows and cares about his craft. After buying a new home, my wife and I were surprised to find the previous owners were heavy smokers. (the house was aired out very well when viewed) There was nicotine everywhere and the smell was appalling.
Although we love the house, we hated the odor and brown stains that were coming from everywhere. With 2700sf of popcorn ceiling to deal with as well as brick fireplace and grass a cloth wall, all saturated with nicotine, the sheer magnitude of the job was daunting.
We consulted with several professionals. the ceilings would have to be scrapped off and refinished, the grass cloth removed, possibly along with the sheetrock and the brick, which goes from floor to ceiling on a 20′ high wall was going to be a real problem.
Dave Collins was referred by a friend who absolutely praised him. After one visit, a workable solution to our problem was suggested. He sprayed the entire house, ceiling bricks and grass cloth and all, with a shellac based primer. This both sealed the surface preventing the nicotine, odor and all, from leaching back into the room and protected the popcorn ceiling.
He even helped select colors that worked with our furniture and life style. He provided options for complimenting trim colors.
HIs crew was professional, clean and timely.
We love our home and have had nothing but compliments from all who come by and see it.

This is my A-​List painter. David doesn’t just paint, he restores anything that shows signs of deterioration to the fresh, crisp look it originally had. The quality of his work is pristine and his crew is skilled, respectful and hard working. Aside from indoor and outdoor painting David painted a newly built wall of cabinets and drawers about 10 years ago and it still looks perfect even through lots of wear. People always ooh and ahh over it. Great painter if you value your home.
