Auto Medics

My fault in that I went there because place was close. Should have read the reviews on Unilocal first!!! Service matched the sign on their building, which has a letter that has fallen off. What is odd about this place is how unfriendly people are. Heard the secretary twice yell at customers on the phone while I was in the waiting room. A bit of a drive but go to Kallemeyn Auto Center in Palos Heights. If you don’t want to go that far, TRS which is next to Auto Medics provides better service, but Kallemeyn Auto Center is still my top choice.

My car was in an accident near and was towed to Auto Medics. They did a great job repairing the car and it looks great. They worked with the insurance company and all I had to pay was the deductible.

I was involved in an accident in Orland Park where there was massive damage to the front of my car. When the accident happened, it was awesome because there happened to be a tow truck at the intersection. I agreed with him to have the car towed to the location of a garage I use. After I was gone, I got a frantic call from him saying that Auto Medics had swooped in and towed the vehicle.
I was extremely frustrated, knowing that here came exorbitant towing and storage fees, but I had not accounted for everything. Since it was a company vehicle, it was on the company insurance and I had no control beside the initial report. I called to get my personal property (clothes, iPad, papers, etc.) out before it was towed wherever the company insurance decided. The woman I spoke with informed me that I would not be getting anything back until it was paid for. Needless to say, that boiled my blood!
I went and looked up Illinois law which states that personal property can not be held by a towing company if a vehicle is involved in an accident and covered by insurance (it was covered by a commercial full-​coverage policy). I called back and informed them, and I was told…“I don’t care what the law is, this is company policy.” WHAAAT?!! Then she hung up on me.

I had a great experience with Automedics. My car broke down on labor day and they responded fast. My car was towed to automedics and repaired by the following afternoon. Not only did they fix my car in a timely manner they also washed and vacuumed my car. I was very impressed with them and would use them again.

My car was towed here after an accident, I had to sign a release for my insurance company to move my car to the agree upon repair facility. The customer service I experienced in just trying to get my car released and the personal property out of my car was pathetic, surly and just plain rude.
With the lousy treatment I received I would never consider using this company for anything of my own volition.

I am NEVER using them AGAIN!!! First they didn’t call me to approve the price (which was 300 more than quoted) Second they were apparently inconvenienced by my call to check on it. Third, the mechanic, Jeff called me to ask if there were any tricks how to START my car!!! And FINALLY, when I asked to talk to the owner about the way the mechanic talked to me, she was shockingly rude!!! Unbelievable how bad the service was.
