Every single time we go to this location the service sucks and the food is nasty. Even if we just go for a slice of pie, service is slow and they are often out of the pies we want. I would not be sad to see this location close down. Actually, wouldn’t be sad if the whole chain went out of business. We are so done with this place. I’ll make my own deserts at home. They’d taste better AND I could have what I want. Sianara BS.

Only reason they’re getting 3 stars is because our male server was absolutely fantastic and the food was good. The hostess was rude and brash. The other servers around us were talking to customers like they were idiots. Disrespectful people all around. Will be going to the other location in Orland Park from now on.

Location is dated and old. They need to update their tables chairs and furniture. Tables are very scratched and Hacked up from 15 years ago. The food is mediocre at best. Very average place was very average food. All I had was a breakfast entrée. Service is weak. The only positive thing is the pie. It is usually very good. I will not be returning.

Always a pleasure to eat here. The Bakers Club Sandwich is my favorite. The pies are out of this world! Free pie every Wednesday. Try it, you’ll like it!

Visited on Friday, 05/01/2015. Dollar for dollar a decent meal and very good service. Since Baker’s Square is really a Diner and not an expensive upscale restaurant, I am rating it as a Diner.

Stopped there on a Friday night at 8pm, restaurant was only half full. After being seated quickly, we waited over 10 minutes with no server stopping by the table. We walked out. This is my second experience like this at this Bakers Square, will not return.

I was visiting family and we decided to here for lunch. We should have gone else where. When we walked in, the hostess was very rude and was grumbling when she had to clean off a table for us. When there was still traces of food after she cleaned the table, my grandmother asked if we may sit at another table and the hostess was evener ruder. At a different table, and now have have our drinks, my grandmother’s water for her tea was dirty with smudges everywhere and she didn’t get a new glass until twenty minutes later. My glass of water had the same thing. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed how one waitress set her tray of food down on some random table and didn’t come back to it for ten minutes and then served the food to the customers. Once our food arrived, my mac and cheese was water and buttery beyond belief, my grandmother asked for no cheese on her food and there was cheese all over her dish, and my two cousin’s food was ice cold. They fixed my grandmother’s order and that was cold. When it came time to pay the bill, they refused to honor the senior discount for my grandmother claiming we had to do it before ordering and that it was in the menu. If it was a discount coupon I can understand mentioning this before ordering, but no matter what bakers square location I have taken my grandmother to and she has asked for a senior discount they always honor it without an attitude. Overall, with their bad attitude and cold and bad food, I will not be returning to this location.

Our familia stopped here after shopping Friday night around 830. Bakers Square was busy but not packed. I had the pot roast open face with mashed potatoes and black coffee. It was delicious. My only complaint was the food could have been warmer. Wife had some salad thing with a flatbread sandwich and she liked it. The twins had burgers and chicken fingers. They both liked them. Service was pretty good. The inside still looks like Bakers Square from 20 years ago.

Thanks Bakers Square for taking my money and giving me a half a sandwich in return. The sandwich was slightly bigger than a white castle slider. and all that for $ 10. And don’t let the waitress fool you when she asks are you ready for your pie now, you will be paying for it. She made it sound like it was included in the cost. Also our waitress was horrible. She never brought the drinks that were ordered. Basically took our order and then our money so we saw her twice. UPDATE: Finally heard back from the district manager– he thinks a free pie coupon makes up for my ½ a sandwich, which he admitted that my sandwich was wrongly portioned. The free pie does me no good I’m not really a sweets eater.

I go here for some conversation and some pie with my friend very often. We usually switch between this location and the one in Oak Lawn. Both are pretty good, but I would say that the service here is nothing to write home about. There were only a few tables full in the restaurant, and when we got there, we asked for a booth. The young man replied, «Sure, let me clean one off first.» Uh… ok? So here I see them yapping at the front desk, and they have to clean a booth off? That should have been done. There is no reason for that if the restaurant is not busy. We sat waiting for our order for awhile. Maybe it was just an off day? I was here before and everything was fine. Pie is pretty good, but they need more variety of non-fruit pies. They took Chocolate cream off the menu and that was one of my favorites! Food is ok, but somewhat overpriced. I would go back again, but they need to get it in gear.

Decent american food with unfortunately, modest portions and high prices. Ten bucks for any lunch plate not including a $ 2.50 soda. Come on… I so want this to be a good place. This place is near my office. In the past eight days I have had lunch here three times. Two business lunches in one day…#SIGH# COMEONEGUYS… Punch it up a bit… a little larger portiins… fries AND cole slaw. Am I a cheapskate? OK ok I am a cheapskate when it comes to regular old boring diner food that I can make better at home and brown bag it??? Yeah I am a food douche…

Sometimes after a martini, all you want is a little decaf coffee and a slice of pie. The peach pie was fine. Nothing amazing. The decaf coffee was a shade of eh but what can you do. The french silk pie we took home was definitely a winner.

With all of the other family restaurants in this area, you would think Baker’s Square would step it up a little when their restaurant is empty on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We have gone to this location many times but this morning it was a disaster. The server, Jaime, was in such a hurry to take our order we barely had any time to look a the menu. She wasn’t around to refill the water glasses but she was all over us when she wanted to clear the table. I don’t mind helping but it is really necessary to ask my family to hand over their dirty plates from the end of the table? Wait until we leave and clear the table. Also, can I please have my check? No, I had to go to the hostess stand where the cranky hostess said«well do you have it?». She then proceeded to tell me how to punch in my tip. «It’s 3 point zero zero». Ummm, thanks. Baker’s Square: take a clue from Egg Headz in Old Tinley, get real servers and take care of people like they are family. I would rather pay $ 30 for more food and better service. To be fair, the food was good and they were falling all over themselves to turn down the AC when a table full of old ladies came in and complained. I guess that’s what it takes…

I went for the pie, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of their food. The food is now quite tasty, better than it was 10 to 20 years ago. I always order a whole pie or two to go.
