Staff are so friendly & the mixed drinks are delicious! There is truly something on the menu for everyone, need-not-love-sushi. In fact, my all time favorite on the menu is the Mongolian beef which rivals P.F. Changs.

The food here is amazing! Anything on the menu is a win! I had the Angel Fest and Dragon Rolls today. So yummy! For dessert hazelnut truffle… Talk about a dream! Wonderful for eating in, the restaurant is beautiful. Take out and delivery are both awesome options too. My absolute favorite restaurant!

Decided to try a new place for sushi from our regular spot. So glad we did! I ordered the White Sox, Black Hawks, and Cupid’s Arrow rolls on half price Monday. Amazing! Highly recommend giving them a shot especially on Monday.

no taste on both dishes we ordered… fish a little fishy. side salad not fresh and already discolorated(turned red at the edge). two stars for the nice pretty young waitress and the nice interior design.

Fresh and tasty all you can eat sushi! I always order the Buddha rolls and crunchy 2 in 1 rolls– rich flavor. I can only eat 1 round of each and I’m full. For appetizer I get the haru maki and seaweed salad and they were both delicious. For dessert, crème brûlée yum!

Great service. Great sushi. And wonderful atmosphere. The salad dressing is a little too citrus for me. The hibachi was delicious

Food was really good and they had a great special today 50% off all appetizers .I really thought the bar area was amazing and surprised it wasn’t packed for the Hawks game.

We came here for the first time for my birthday dinner. The main dining area was open and there was plenty of seating. For a Friday night it was a little busy but we were sat right away. The bar was in a separate area and honestly, you wouldn’t know there was a bar unless you looked for it. You couldn’t even hear the noise from that area with how the rooms were separated. It was nice. We ordered the Bears Roll and the shrimp dumplings to start. They were delicious, but the Bears Roll was the star. We highly recommend it! For main course, my husband ordered the hibachi shrimp and I ordered the asparagus and shrimp. My husband’s meal was very flavorful and came with a fantastic dipping sauce. Large portion size with a good amount of shrimp. I was disappointed with mine, mainly because even though I received a very good portion of vegetable and shrimp, it was bland. Everything was cooked perfectly but the flavor just wasn’t there. I would try it again to see if there was a difference between visits. We did get dessert: one chocolate pyramid and a chocolate caramel cake. They were small, which was nice because we could share but also not feel like we were overloaded after dinner. The pyramid was a more solid chocolate cream with white chocolate flecks and the cake was warm with the melty caramel. They were wonderful and really satisfied the sweet tooth. We will try this restaurant again, maybe next time just go to the bar and order a couple rolls to see what that side is like.

The food here is excellent — I’ve never had a bad meal. Personal favorites: volcano roll, dynamite scallop, calamari, angel fest roll, the crab rangoons. The one downside is the service is usually slow. Anytime I’ve sat in the dining room the server is always a little too lax and slow to bring the bill or get refills, see if we need anything, etc. I will say the bartenders’ service is much better — both I have interacted with were very personable and knowledgeable of the food menu and the liquor/cocktails/beer they have available. They will tell you straight up if a beer/cocktail you want to order isn’t great and offer good suggestions based on your preferences. Being someone who used to work in that industry I appreciate that. Overall — amazing foo and atmosphere. Service could be a little faster in the dining room. This place is gorgeous on the inside but seems almost too big for it’s own good(I’ve never seen it super packed in there).

From the minute I walked in, I felt happy in this place. Beautiful décor, friendly staff and live entertainment on certain days. The sushi was awesome, but the warm pea pods they serve you complimentary was my favorite dish! Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Love, love, love everything about this restaurant! We’ve eaten at both the Oak Brook and Orland Park locations. The rolls are very fresh and imaginatively combined. We try to sample a couple of different ones with each visit. Try to save room — the desserts are just as good as the food. MOSTRECENTVISIT: The menu could be great, the chef excellent, but the waitstaff can totally ruin the entire evening. Last night we had the most inattentive, unprofessional waiter possible. Ignored us, disappeared for long periods of time, forgot our food and brought it cold.

The volcano roll was really good. I am not a big fan of sushi but this particular roll was fantastic. I had a cucumber martini to go along with it and Wow, I was in heaven.

My sister took me here and I’m hooked! Love this place just wish it was closer to where I live… Although it’s probably best that it’s not because I might go there every day. I want to say my absolute favorite is the volcano roll but honestly all the ones I’ve had are my favorites. I never thought I liked sushi but I was wrong I love it!!! Went there last night and woke up wanting more. The only negative that I can say and also people that go there alot more than me have to say is the drinks are good but not consistent. We went there one night and had some OMG drinks went back and ordered them again from someone else and some«seasoned» drinkers agreed that they were awful and not even close to what we had the other night. That seems to happen quite a bit unless you learn what bartenders can make what drinks. I think they need a template of drink recipes as a refresher for the bartenders so the drinks are consistent among them. But they won’t keep me from going there… Just learning what to order from who.

Love this place! They’re sushi is the best in the area and the specials are awesome! The service is always great too, there’s even a rewards club. The rolls are filling and decoratively plated, and even on the nights of their specials they don’t take forever to get. The vibe in this place is awesome too, definitely great for a date, friends dinner, or any other occasion. The bar area is pretty big too, which they have bands and events there on occasion. I would definitely recommend Dao!

Terrible service. My husband and I went on a Tuesday night(not crowded at all), and waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes. No one ever came, so we decided to just go have a seat in the bar area. The bartender wasn’t behind the bar either, so we waited again. He finally greeted us, gave us water, and then we didn’t see him again for another 10 minutes. Never have I ever walked up out of a restaurant, but we Walked directly out of Dao.

The food was excellent and service was great. The place was empty at 9PM on a Saturday night so I doubt it will be around long, as many have come and gone in this location. Try the Lobster Rangoon and the Pistachio Cheesecake(small slice but yummy). All of the 4 sushi rolls were excellent(don’t remember their names). Sorry :(

Service was horrible. Food came out of kitchen at least 10 minutes after my friends did even though we were one of two tables being used in the whole restaurant. After it was all said and done they did not honor my friends groupon for his meal because I had ordered a sushi roll that was on special, even though we were on separate checks. The food was fine, but I am not a fan of how this restaurant was run.

We came in on a Monday for 50% off signature rolls and this is my second time here. I don’t think I will ever come back on any other day; ~$ 7 – 9 signature rolls are too good. Sat in the bar area which was nice but probably not as cool as the dining room. We all ordered a couple rolls each and I think everyone got something different. I thought the mango tango was decent, but I really loved the she-she roll; it’s probably my all time favorite now. My –1 star comes from the service. They did appear to be swamped with sushi orders but in general the service was very, very slow. The first server was actually the bartender but eventually turned into someone else. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our rolls and the server disappeared a couple times. Our dinner kind of dragged on a little longer than we would have liked. Still thought the food was good, once we got it. I’m a sushi lover and Dao is still a great place for it.

Yup. So this place is hit or miss. Been here 4 times now and yes it’s stupid that I kept trying in hopes of improvement(and also the special half off rolls on Tuesday and half off sashimi on Wednesday). We’ve only had good service ONCE in all the times here. I like how it felt like discrimination too as some tables got edamame, but we’ve only been given it ONCE. The last time we came I asked whom I think was the manager if edamame is complimentary to which he replied yes and asked if we wanted any… Not really since we’ve already waited 30 minutes for sashimi/nigiri and finally received our food. The quality of food is decent and the décor is nice, but service just drags them down so much and we’ve had such poor experiences that I will never be back again. Updating my review from 2 stars to 1 star and even then when I think back on some of the times we’ve come it makes me wish I can go lower.
