Hair Concepts

I tried Hair Concepts a little over 3 months ago since my former stylist from another salon left. I have not been disappointed. John, who is the owner, has been cutting and touching up my hair 3 times now. I usually can go 5 weeks without a touch up. John listens to how I want my hair styled and the color I am looking for. He has always done a great haircut & color for me. My husband also goes here and he is always happy with his haircuts. Everyone who works there is so pleasant and asks if I need anything to drink or read from the minute I walk in to when I am waiting for my color to develop. John & his wife have recently repainted and redecorated the place, which is immaculate, cozy, and so inviting. I highly recommend going there. If you are tired of having to find a new stylist, because he/​she is always moving to another salon, go to Hair Concepts. They are established and have been in their location for quite a while.

The only reason for my two stars and not less is because the place was clean and the staff was friendly. However, DON’T take your children there for a haircut! The price on the Unilocal sight said it was only $ 10 for a kid’s hair cut. However, they charged me $ 25 each for my 4 and 7 year olds haircuts. There was nothing fancy being done but a basic trim. I almost fell to the ground after they gave me the total of $ 50 for 2 haircuts that didn’t even take 20 minutes. I had to show the price on the sight to get my $ 30 dollars back, but they really want to charge more. That’s a total rip off for kids’ haircuts. So, my advice, if you’re cool with $ 25 for a kid’s haircut, ok then. Otherwise look elsewhere!

All the females in my family have been going here for years. This husband and wife team really know how to make the atmosphere inviting & comfortable, offering refreshments & remembering details of your last visit (i.e. new job offerings/​promotions, family events, etc.) which is such a great quality considering the high rate of turn over staff at other salons I’ve visited.
But the best part is the service! My stylist is Amanda. She really listens to my wants and asks questions to get a more thorough understanding. I have never had a bad cut or color. The prices are insanely low, especially for this area. Sometimes I feel like I’m robbing them, but they assure me I am not.

I just want to give a shout out to Lisa and John and the whole Hair Concepts crew. I have been a customer for about 6 years and have referred many. This is not a foo-​foo, overpriced salon. You’ll get a good cup of coffee (check out the new coffee maker!), pleasant conversation and a great hair-​cut that is moderately priced. Bring the kids too. Amanda is a master at interpreting what you need. Oh yeah, and they do prom hair too!

I was looking for a reasonably priced salon after paying close to $ 100 for services at J.C.Penney Salon at the Orland Mall for color and a cut/​style.
The decorations in this small place are the cutest. The owner decorates for every holiday and season. It’s fantastic. The prices are fantastic too!
I am paying less than I have ever paid for services, even before the JCP money disaster. Free coffee, water, soda, candy, snacks, etc. Staff is extremely friendly and stylists are great.
I am a Satisfied Customer !
