Gotta say it! Love this place. I will admit the ambiance is not up to par with other Orland Park places but what it lacks in décor it makes up for in quality. Good service good food good prices.

I’ve been wanting delicious Japanese cuisine aka a salmon teriyaki bento box. The whole day I’ve been thinking about this… then coming to find out that they have closed… indefinitely. Why??? Why??? Why??? I am so sad. あなたは惜しまれるでしょう。

Ichiro is delicious. The care and thought that the company puts into every dish on the menu is entirely noticeable and appreciated. It is very authentic Japanese cuisine. Unfortunately, though, Ichiro can be more responsible in regards to the waste they produce! Positives: Ichiro’s eat-in customers get food served on washable, reusable dishes. Negatives: Ichiro offered no option but styrofoam to take leftovers home in. A styrofoam box, placed inside a plastic bag. Styrofoam is the fifth largest contributor of hazardous waste in the US,(according to the Environmental Production Agency) filling up landfills at an alarming rate. With plastics being the sixth. Please consider an alternative for take-out styrofoam containers. Your customers and the environment will be thankful! Look into plant-based, biodegradable options. Also, the addition of a recycling bin to your waste management system, allowing customers who order bottled drinks to then recycle them afterward, would also be a great help to your efforts in creating a more conscientious and responsible small business.

Good sushi. Not the best you will ever have but pretty good for the burbs. The service is excellent.

My lady and I have been to just about every sushi restaurant in Illinois and it always ends with«it’s not as good as ichiro».

Ichiro is a small little sushi place with pretty good sushi and very friendly staff. Its not knock-your-socks off sushi but overall the rolls are large and taste great. Occasionally you do get a sloppy roll that falls apart, so sushi traditionalist may have an issue with that. Otherwise its a great place to relax, have some pretty good sushi, and have a few Sapporo beers.

So sad. This was a good eatery at one time. I ordered a veggie roll and the rice was slimy. How can you screw up a veggie roll? I also ordered the tamago(egg) and when i bit into it, water squirted out in my mouth! YUCK! The worst was yet to come. I had the California crunch roll and the crab inside was so foul, i almost barfed right there in the restaraunt. Had to run out the door to get some fresh air. I hope that my guts will be able to hold up until I get home. Weird aftertaste later we have never experienced with a good sushi restsursnt.

My wife and I have been going here since they opened at least 10 years ago. The owner, Ming is the best… always makes it a point to come over and say hello. I don’t think I’ve ever been there and he isn’t there behind the counter making sushi. This place is the best and I’ve tried many in my travels!

Salmon Nachos! Spicy tuna is great too. My favorite roll was the superman though.

This place really surprised me! The sashimi was super fresh and the fusion rolls were pretty delicious! Nothing was really memorable, but it really gets the job done. It was a pleasent surprise to see this place in the suburbs. The inside is pretty small so the wait can get extensive but I would say its worth the wait to get your sushi fix. Great service, extremely accomadating for big parties. located in the same strip mall as best buy.

Ichiro came highly recommended by a friend, and I will continue the recommendation in the future! We came on a weekday night, seemed like we were the first diners of the evening as staff were moving about the room preparing. We were greeted and seated promptly. Positives –quick service — size of rolls –presentation of plate –complimentary edamame –amazing miso soup Disappointments –Over abundance of sauce(masked the flavor of the roll, and all the work the sushi chef put into making it) The reason for 4⁄5 stars was due to a lack for recommending items from the menu. I wanted a spicy roll, and the waiter was quick to say we can make any roll spicy. That’s great,(especially for picky people) however I wanted a roll that was designed on the menu as a recommendation, just a small thing. I will definitely be returning to try different items, it was a great experience to dine in!

I was pleasantly surprised by Ichiro. What is a gal to do when you can be satisfied by sushi and only sushi and you are in Southwest Suburbia? Hop to Unilocal and hope the destination of the day scratches that itch. Ichiro did just that. My sushi fix is satisfied, for the moment, anyway. It is in a strip mall, which means free parking, and that is always a good thing. The outside is unassuming but clean. The inside is not fancy but clean. Service is pleasant. We ordered the spider roll, which was not the best spider roll ever, but I have a weakness for soft shell crab, so I enjoyed it. The Superman was stellar. Quite the presentation. Prices are reasonable.

I love the variety of EVERYTHING on the menu! I also love how they are numbered so when I’m talking to my friends, I just tell them to find a certain number. The service is fantastic and so is the sushi. Although, do not order the«Chicago Fire.» It wasn’t good… I don’t know. I didn’t like it. The Sashimi Steak was delicious though! My cousin is a meat lover so I always make sure to include that when we get sushi and he really liked it. They marinated, cooked it right, and bought quality meat. Plus, it came with lots of avocado, onions, and tomatoes. I’m tired of restaurants being stingy on avocado or other pricey foods. The only thing that bothered me was… why did these rolls come out with strawberries as garnishes? It made the strawberries taste funny. 3 people with only H2O to drink… 6 orders + 10% off coupon + gratuity = $ 22/person. CHEERS!

I’m not comparing this place to all my favorites in the city but just based on quality of sushi and the rest of the food. Service was fine but the sushi was a miss. Really, the southside is lacking in quality and when I read reviews that it’s the freshest and best around, it makes me think that people are just too used to all the average places out in the southern burbs” or just haven’t experience really good sushi. All of the sushi rolls were not tightly rolled and fell apart in our chopsticks. The spider roll was the worst I’ve ever had(loose and didn’t taste like a spider whatsoever) and the spicy tuna was ground tuna(usually a sign of a lack of freshness and many restaurants grind it to hide that fact). The rolls were just bland, and just kind of funky. The service was very friendly from the waitress to the sushi chefs. I must say the squid salad was very good and I liked the seaweed salad. The fried rice and tempura chicken were nothing special. I thought the space was a little sad looking inside and out and just didn’t give me any good feelings of wanting to return.
