My absolute favorite hibachi and sushi place! I always get the Hibachi shrimp and Ebi Tempura roll and Jackie Special roll. I work in downtown Chicago, I have tried sushi at many places all over Chicago and the north side — Fuji is my favorite. They have the best rice and my food is always cooked perfectly. My family and I have been coming here since early 2000, there is no reason to go anywhere else.

Food Quality 5⁄5 I had the hibachi steak, wife had the hibachi chicken and mom had the chicken and shrimp. All the food tastes great and the show was good(once you have seen it once or twice it can get a bit old). I really loved the butter sause that they make and my steak was cooked to point. Atmosphere 4⁄5 On busy days, its easy to get lost between the other guests that are waiting. They do not have amy kind of waiting area so you tend ro have to huddle up by the dooe with other groups by the single table place beside the door once you walk in. Aside from that, the look and feel of this place is fun. Price 2⁄5 Although we enjoyed our time here, i thin it was very overpriced.

Best hibachi steak and fried rice hands down. My family has been going here for at least a decade on special occasions, holidays, birthdays, and just because, it is that good. Absolutely love this hole in the wall, much better than any other hibachi restaurant I’ve tried.

I went to Fuji this past Saturday night with my girlfriend and once again it did not disappoint. I laugh at some of these other reviews, because either people are way to picky or they work for the competition and want to make this place look bad. It was crowded on Saturday night and we had a reservation for 7:45, we were told it was going to be a few minutes, so we made our way up to the bar and had a cocktail each before our table was ready. Even though they were very busy and were all working very hard, they were still very accommodating and treated us with great respect. The food was outstanding as usual. I had the filet and scallops combo with a side of(my favorite) golden shrimp. My girlfriend had the same minus the golden shrimp and we both loved our meals. The fried rice they give you before the main meal is excellent. The Hibachi chefs are very nice and personable and will have a conversation with you. At some Hibachi restaurants they usually keep to themselves, but not here, which is welcoming. From a price perspective, they are expensive, but you get exactly what you pay for and then some. Name a quality hibachi restaurant that’s not expensive and I bet you can’t name one. I can’t wait to get back to Fuji, I love this place!

Went Sunday for dinner as a group of 4 for dinner. We arrived unannounced without reservations. The gentleman who greated us was super nice and very pleasant. We sat at the bar for a few minutes and we were fairly quickly seated. This is a very typical hibachi type restaurant. The food and presentation were great. I had steak and a tuna filet, which were both cooked as ordered. The rice and vegetables were really good. Fuji has a side of delicious garlic as an option. It is grilled butter with some sort of garlic mix. I am certain this is absolutely not a healthy option but it was very good. We didn’t try any sushi. Would certainly recommend and return.

Food was alright i have had muchhhh better quality. We went on a saturday afternoon it was dead barely anyone there and it was three of us. I give this place 1 star for two reasons. First reason is they made us share a table with another family which was weird given that the entire restaurant was empty and plenty of servers and available cooks for the hibachi, it was extremely awkward eating with people we didnt know. My second reason is that they charge you for refills !!! I had a sprite so they charged me 5 dollars for 2 tiny glasses of soda. I have never heard of being charged for refills unless is alcoholic or some type smoothie or tea mix. I probably will never come here again.

I have been going here for years. I have yet to find hibachi Japanese food that is better than this one. It is amazing. The sushi is good too. I live out of state now, but I still make sure to visit Fuji when I am in town!

Food was mediocre, service was terrible and it’s a really dirty looking place. Hood vents were lined with grease. No free refills on soft drinks at this place, $ 2.50 a refill. GTFOH! It’s not like we were drinking wine for you to charge us. Deffinitely will not be back.

Food quality was just mediocre. I expected it to be better but was disappointed in quality of sushi, and hibachi. The steak was good but the chicken was over cooked. In between different peoples meals. The surface of the grill was not cleaned well enough and have left over residue. The service matched the mediocre food prep and quality. If prices were less, I would say you get what you pay for but on a $ 150 bill. I will not be returning after talking to a manager that didn’t want to take any thing off the bill or even apologize about the poor experience.

Have been wanting to try this restaurant out for a long time. I hear a lot about it and wanted to check out the hype with my boyfriend. We called and made a reservation for 7:45. We walked in and didn’t know where to go or what to do since we have never been there before. We stood in the front for about a minute and kind of peered around the corners to see if anyone would come up to greet us. Another minute went by and a waiter with a handful of menu’s walked up to the host stand and started putting away menus — not even making eye contact with us. Then he walked away. Me and my boyfriend walked out. We were looking forward to a nice night and experience at Fuji, but I just could not stand being there for two minutes and not even being acknowledged. Not somewhere I’d want to spend my money. The place left a bad taste in our mouths and we won’t be coming back to try them again.

I love this place. They are the best place to go to for hibachi. The cooks and wait staff are super. They go above and beyond and they food is always delicious! The owner is a hard worker always on his feet going to each table and making sure everything is going well.

Way, way, way, way, overpriced for the quality and portions you receive. Was in a party of three, and the bill came out to over 180! My friend ordered the lobster steak special. The lobster was sick in color, and not red, but sickly brown. Absolutely disgusting ! And for the whopping price of 80 dollars, he sure has buyers remorse ! This is proof of why I hate Japanese steakhouses. They overcook the shit out of your meat. Ordered mine medium rare, and get medium-done. Because the steak was not cooked medium rare, it lacked flavor and was somewhat chewy. Ordered volcano sushi. It was a mess, and not blowtorched over the sushi. They drizzled the sauce unevenly and it was just a mess. Fried rice was great, but was for whatever reason served before the meal. Avoid This one and pretty much all Japanese steak houses. They all are generally overpriced and Ill-prepared

This is the second time I have been here. And what I like is that it’s NEVER all crowded like some of the other hibachi restaurants like chi tung or hamada of japan as I HATE waiting in the lobby, only to wait at the table again. That being said, we went on a sunday afternoon, and pretty much everything was really good. The fried rice was good, but I can make better at home simply because I use more vegetables and add chicken. I had hibachi steak and garlic shrimp. Steak was really good, and the shrimp was pretty good. but it had a little too much garlic on it IMO. I’ll probably go with the regular hibachi shrimp next time. The chef was good as well though. Quick service there, so we were able to get in, get seated, and eat pretty quickly, which is always a plus in my book.

Went to this place with my friend for the first time. Was the worst hibachi experience ever. I usually go to Zuki in Mokena, but wanted to try something new. The rice was doused with soy sauce with tiny specks of orange and green, no flavor at all. Then came the vegetables, again with the soy sauce no flavor. I ordered golden shrimp and they tasted like cardboard. The golden sauce was flavorless. I probably ate less than half my meal. We decided to order a sushi roll called Volcano. This roll was basically rice with a huge mountain of strings of imitation crab mixed in mayonnaise, disgusting !!! I will never come to this hole in the wall restaurant ever again. The service was the only good part of the meal.

Great golden shrimp. I asked for light oil and butter and they didn’t use a lot. Veggies were fresh. Everyone was pleasant. Bathrooms are fresh smelling and cleanly. Not a lot of ppl here. It’s about 5pm on a Monday.

There are a number of these Japanese steak houses around the neighborhood and we have gone to this one a couple of times. This establishment is situated in a strip mall just a few storefronts down from the Orland Park Post Office on 151st. All in all, this is a very nice Japanese style dinner place. They have done very well over the years and have enlarged their restaurant into the storefront next door… always a good sign. As per usual, the dining setup is where you sit around a giant hot plate and watch as the cook prepares your food while you schmooze with your neighbors. It is a lot of fun and the food is pretty good. The main entrees are shrimp, scallops, steak, chicken… and you can get any combination of the above… and they come Hibachi style or Teriyaki… so you have many choices. We had typical entrees — Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp, Hibachi Steak, and Teriyaki Chicken… all were nicely prepared on the hot plate and served up piping hot. The fried rice which comes with every meal is my favorite, especially because it is so fresh when served up immediately after cooking. They also have a full serve liquor license, but the Japanese beers are the highlight. It is a fun place to bring guests as the atmosphere is raucous and friendly. The place is loud so it is really not a romantic date spot, but it is a nice change of pace for dinner.

I met my(wonderful) boss here for dinner one night. I was appalled at the service. We ordered a $ 75 sushi boat and she just basically threw it down and walked away. I have no idea what that was about. The food made up for it, I guess. I’ve had better to be honest. I was counting calories and limited on what I could have though. The bar served up some tasty and cheap drinks. This is on the bottom of my list as far as sushi places. There are several better options in the area. Hibachi is always packed here. Maybe the service is better there. I doubt it.

Brought my family here for hibachi based on my Unilocal search. Great place and lives up to its rating. The quality of the steak used for the hibachi was surprisingly high end. The sushi was also above what I expected. We ordered the Corona roll which was awesome. Kids had the chicken and steak and loved it. Of course hibachi is expensive and this place follows that priceline. Family of 4, with 4 glasses of wine(for the adults) came to $ 161.00. That included an appetizer. We had fun and a great meal. The cook put on the usual hibachi show flipping the egg, volcano of fire and steam, and set the whole grill a flame as well. Great time had by all. The entrance is deceiving since it’s in a strip mall. However you will enjoy!
