Food is good, but service is extremely slow. Thought it may have been an isolated incident but the last 3 times I’ve been it’s over an hour to get food. Even when the restaurant is not very busy. Most recently, the waitress took our drink order and after a few minutes we still had no drinks. Looking around to see where the waitress went, she was sorting receipts at the cash register. I wish Alta Marie’s was still in town.

All I have to say is… Country Burrito! Chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns, cheese and gravy. Amazing! Definitely coming back to this hidden gem. Anyone who would put chicken fried steak in a burrito is obviously a culinary genius. Waitress was really nice, said we gotta come back at lunch for the pulled pork. See yall again soon!

Nice place to stop when driving down interstate highway 5. Good service, nice staff and it’s a local favorite. I got the French toast with cinnamon apples and walnuts, yum!

Food is pretty good — in particular the chicken pot pie and chicken fried steak. Excellent, friendly service. It’s not very well signed. Wish I could say three coffee was good, but it was barely drinkable. Nevertheless, do yourself a favor and head a bit away from the highway and the fast food and try this place out.

Best breakfast burritos in town. I could never eat it all in one sitting but nevertheless delicious.. and the oatmeal peanut butter cookies where so good. Roxie always greets us with a big smile, and we never waited for our glasses to be refilled. Also you ever heard of carrot cake jam??? Yum!

First trip here and Kathy made the 4.5 stars seem inadequate. This place is awesome and the gravy and jalapeño popper burger were awesome. Highly recommend stopping by for a bite. Would’ve given 5 stars but the«secret» gravy recipe ruined that. Lol. Thanks Kathy.

First of all it’s nice someone finally did something nice with this old building that sat empty for so long. My husband and I took our morning walk over to the café for breakfast. We walked into to a clean, bright establishment and greetings. I order the 2 egg breakfast with coffee. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. My food was good, nothing exceptional but portion size was perfect. Coffee was good, hot. But my husband’s meal arrived cold, so we sent it back. Our waitress was most apologetic. I was pleased, they made him a fresh new plate not a reheat, and it was brought out by the owner. We didn’t try the pastries, and the food was probably about average, but the service was excellent. The menu was limited compared to some that are a book. I personally liked the limited menu, just enough variety. It’s definitely a good place for a simple, tasty meal.

Great omelet with fresh ingredients. Nice coffee. Friendly servers. And just the right amount of AC. Pastries are made there and they heat it up for you.

My sister, her sons and I were on our way home from Washington. Decided to stop by because of the four stars that Unilocal rated. Staff was attentive and friendly! First time there and was amazing.

Just had lunch there today. service was terrible and the lunch was pathetic. First off when my group of 6 arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty and the wait staff waited until the one table of 6 left so they could seat us. Mind you there were many open tables that could have easily been put together instead of waiting 15 minutes for the one set of two tables together! I ordered the special which was an «Ultimate Grilled Cheese» which was supposed to include 3 types of cheeses and bacon and homemade bbq chips. This also included a drink which the waitress didn’t even know was part of the special until we mentioned it toward the end of our meal. Her response was«well you could have a drink or have your water” — what the heck!!! When the grilled cheese arrived the bacon was missing and the waitress brought some on the side after the fact. Nothing like cold cheese and undercooked bacon– NOT! What added insult to injury was that this place was not cheap– this meal was $ 10.99. My children cook better than that and have a better service manners. DON’T WASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY!!!

I am originally from Orland, moved away 30+ years ago. Was so glad to have found the 4th street café for lunch the other day while visiting. Orland is lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant. They have a wide variety of food to choose from. Everything looks delicious. Mine and my husbands lunches were fantastic. We also had a cinnamon roll and pecan sticky bun for dessert that were both great! Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

The food is hot and tasty and the service is very good. Clearly a locals favorite, they welcome frequent fliers by their first name and even let you keep your favorite coffee cup on the wall for you when you visit. We had the chicken cordon blue and grilled Ham & cheese with home made BBQ chips and baked beans. Everything was crispy, hot and delicious.

Found this little gem of a restaurant on our way home along I-5. I had the oatmeal and my wife had the French toast. Both were excellent! Hearty portion of oatmeal… I couldn’t finish all of it. My wife added the extra toppings on her French toast(sautéed apples, toasted walnuts and whipped cream) and said she had never had better French toast. She ended up not even using the butter and syrup that came with it. The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant, as well as the bathroom, were both very clean.
