Action Car Rental

This was the second time we’ve used Action Car Rental on Mccoy Rd. in Orlando. Our family of 6 was able to rent a minivan for about half the price other places were offering. There were lots of scuffs and small dings both inside and out, but we documented them at the beginning of the week as instructed and had no issues. The vehicle ran beautifully. No fuss, honest company that treats customers well. We will use them again next time.

These guys were AWESOME! I flew into Orlando and was having problems with a rental reservation at another company. I got into contact with Action Car Rental, they came and picked me up from the other company, got me in a car and made sure I had the car I really needed with extras that I wouldn’t have gotten from the other company, all for a CHEAPER PRICE than my «discounted reservation price.» I will be coming back to these guys and would recommend them to anyone.

No problem at all, my Nissan had a lot of scuffs and marks all over, I let it be known & I took pictures of everything. I got my deposit back quick and the staff was friendly. If you take pictures of everything & try to avoid tolls (I actually lived in Orlando for 3 years and know my way around) there shouldn’t be no problem. I never trusted those Sun pass things and I always pay with change. That’s beside the point though, I will be using Action/​NU again. The only reason why I knocked down a star was because the Nissan was badly damaged on the outside with all the scuffs and marks. Also the inside smelled like a concoction of chemicals to eliminate a foul smell. However, after two days the stench faded away

Reasonable prices and friendly service! I was traveling back to Orlando through a bad storm… arrived all shook up… and they were so kind to me.

I haven’t even picked up our rental yet and I already hate this place. I called to get he measurements of our 12 passenger van to make sure it will fit in the parking garage we are taking it to for a cruise we are going on. The man that answered the phone couldn’t understand me. Tried asking difference ways until I got a little frustrated and asked to speak with someone else at which point I was HUNG UP ON. That’s not even the worse part, I called back, spoke with someone else (a manager) and told them I was just hung up on. The manager proceeded to tell me I wasn’t hung up on bc he’s been standing there and didn’t see anyone hang up on anyone. My jaw just about dropped to the floor. How do you argue with a customer like this? Just apologize and provide good customer service. But NO. They no nothing about good customer service. Awful. And I mean AWFUL company and leadership.

Rented a Ford Fusion through NU in Orlando from 2÷3÷16 through 2÷17÷16. Staff provided excellent service. Shuttle was prompt. The price was absolutely the best in the area. I would definitely recommend NU as ahigh value option to the better known rental companies.

I understand that its a low budget rental but the service should not match it as well. It should exceed it. Employees speak Spanish in front of their customers, about the customer. I’m Spanish and I’m offended.

Big mistake renting from here. I rented a car from here for 8 days on our vacation in Orlando. I got a discounted price through Verizon rewards program so was pretty happy about the cost. Only to find out on arrival that the car that they were going to provide us was a beaten up sedan with scratches all over, dents in several places and a bumper that was sticking out on the right hand side after an accident.
I refused to take that car and then I was told that there were no other cars available in that category and I’ll need to take an «upgrade», which cost me a lot more. This is after I had made this reservation a month in advance.
After the upgrade I was offered to rent a device to pay tolls for 9 $ a day. This would have added another 72 $ to the cost. I refused that since I wasn’t sure I’ll end up paying that much toll. 8 days later the total amount of toll paid was 2 $! These guys will try very hard to rip you off, so avoid them at all costs.

Not accommodating. Limited hours of service. Cannot drop off rental outside office hours without paying a surcharge. When I inquired how I would make it to my international flight when they don’t open until 6am they gave not option other than paying an additional fee of $ 25 to drop it at an alternate car rental company.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. The «savings» you allegedly get aren’t worth it. My sister in law rented here for our family vacation because it was a few hundred dollars cheaper. However, she realized prior to picking up the car that we couldn’t take the minivan out of state which would be problematic. She mentioned it upon check out/​when we picked up the car to the agent and he made it sound like it wasn’t a big deal since she had unlimited miles.
Anyway, when we crossed into Georgia and made a pit stop, the car wouldn’t start. We had just gassed up so we knew that wasn’t a problem but we called Triple A who couldn’t figure out what was wrong either. Finally we called the rental car company who at that point told us that they had GPS and had disabled our access since we crossed state lines and it would cost us $ 150 for them to turn the car back on.
THIS was what we were trying to avoid when we first rented the car but THEIR agent had said it was fine.
Anyway, when we returned the car, I looked around and there were no signs warning us this could happen. I mentioned it and the agent gave me the run around. When I asked him if he knew Hertz and other LARGER car rental agencies had been sued for this, he said «oh well». I then overheard his manager telling him, «don’t talk to them.»
Based on the reviews previously posted by others, maybe there is a nice crew and a mean crew and we got the mean crew that doesn’t know how to provide GOOD customer service or employ any problem solving skills. We weren’t trying to get out of paying the $ 150 fee on the front end or the back end of the return.
On the car rental return, we were just trying to register a complaint that notice would have been nice rather than wasting 3 hours trying to diagnose a «problem» that didn’t exist. Thank goodness we were at a rest area and not ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD/​OR A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY. Otherwise the news that night could have been «Family dies on the side of the freeway.»
I’m registering complaints with the Better Business Bureau and
(site my sister in law used) as well as posting this review on TripAdvisor. I’m also looking into one more thing to go along with the unlawful use of the GPS tracker which is the «daily fee» they charge to cover tolls. Pretty sure the way they are doing it is illegal too.
What concerns me most is how many people of color seem to rent from here. I worry they are being preyed upon.
As far as the car, the inside of the minivan was decent but the body had numerous dents on it which had little stickers that said «reported» on it. SOOO TACKY!!!

Nice people, car better than expected, the best price. I would use them and recommend them.

Wrong Licence plate numbers on cars! DANGER! Stay Far Far Away. If you found them by NUCAR on expidia and you show up and they go by Action Car rental that should be the first warning sign. The cars they rent have the wrong TAG numbers on them which will get you in big trouble with the Police. The first car they rented caught a flat on the Interstate and they were not helpful. The second car had Bad or wrong TAG numbers. Go with a reputable company.

I flew into the Orlando Airport and arranged to rent a car from Action Car Rental. This was the first time I had ever rented a car from them. When I registered for the car online, I asked for a midsize car. When I arrived at Action Car Rental, I was told there were no more mid size cars available. I was feeling anxious because I was going to see my elderly mother who I was going to drive to various doctor appointments throughout my visit. I needed to rent a car that would be easy for my mother to get into and out of.
The manager of the place took into account the reason for my visit and my needs. He offered me an SUV that was an upgrade at no more cost than what I would pay for the midsize car. I couldn’t believe it! At first I wasn’t sure if my mother could get into and out of the car easily. The manager convinced me that the SUV would be easier for my mother to get in and out of so I took the car. The car drove beautifully and made me feel very safe not to mention that the manager was right about how easy it would be for my mother to get in and out of the car.
The rest of the staff at Action Car Rental were also very nice and helpful. They made it easy for me to get through the paperwork and get my car quickly. I am very grateful to Action Car Rental for their help and assistance and intend to continue using the company as my rental car place of choice when I visit the Orlando area.

It really deserves 0 stars. It took forever and they weren’t busy. When we got the car, we noticed a tire was bald. We had to point it out. Then they wanted to switch it, after I asked if they’d come to us when that tire dies. No hustle. No customer service. I asked a question and the guy walked away!
Please, do not come here!

Stay away! I booked a van through economy
And the total cost was DOUBLE from what I was quoted online. Action tried explaining the charges to me but I felt scammed in the end and if anything they should have honored the economy bookings quote as would any other business.
I have been to Florida in the past and rented vans from major companies and have never had this markup ever.
I will never rent or refer their company again!!!

They were OK. You get what you pay for. This was me and my husband’s first time renting a car and I didn’t do a lot of research so we probably actually paid more then if we just went with Hertz or something.
First off I bought 3^rd party insurance. The guy at the counter talked fast and cut me off a lot, he was an obvious salesman. He told me that insurance wouldn’t work, told me I could call and cancel and get theirs. We declined, I’m assuming we were trying to be swindled, he’s just doing his job though I suppose. He then asked «just 1 driver?» Our insurance stated other people could drive over age 25 and I added my husband, thinking it would be free or a small fee. It was an extra $ 9 a day (we rented for 6 days) and before I could rethink my decision he quickly took my card and charged me (still talking fast).
OK so we get the car, I turn and it makes this crazy noise. Me and my husband didn’t get any food, we were cranky and tired so we looked at each other and decided to let it go.
We drove to Daytona without the car making another sound. Once we started driving below 40 it made very loud noises just driving normally. So we called them back to ask for an exchange which wasn’t an issue. I was told to refill the gas however so my husband called and then we were told we didn’t have to. I had to pay an extra $ 5.50 in tolls I shouldn’t have had to pay (on the trip back to Orlando and back to Daytona). No refund/​gift card was offered… so customer service here isn’t excellent. They didn’t really seem to care that they took an extra 3 hours of our time plus more money. No apology or anything.
Me and my husband are college students so we went cheap. Next time we travel we will hopefully be in our careers and I will be picking a car rental place AT the airport, not far off. Overall they seemed friendly, which is why I gave a 3 star. Just make sure you know about your insurance and don’t ignore car noises, we should have went back when I first turned and heard that noise!
Also, I know I missed 1 toll on my way to Daytona. They charged me about 2 months later. Then they charged me a 2^nd time for who knows what. I haven’t had any more charges from them… if I do get more I will be making some calls. Please take your money to a name brand car rental!

The customer service that I witnessed another customer receive here when I was on vacation was the worst I have ever seen. One of the employees was arguing about pricing with another employee in front of everybody, and eventually she lost her composure with the customer as well. The customer was so upset she began to cry. I was honestly disgusted by the lack of professionalism their employees displayed.

We came to Orlando planning to get around by taxi, but when we saw the pricing of the taxi service and the pricing of Action Car Rental we decided to go with the car. The pricing was really great, the car was awesome and the service exceptional. Thank you Action Car Rentals for making our trip to Orlando all the more better!

Last minute reservation via a cheap car app. Worked out great, ended up extending the car a day.1 easy phone, done. Good price, ez pass, xm radio and COLD ac… And the car didn’t stink! Bonus. Thanks Action car rental. William is a great shuttle driver.
