The food was I can’t comment on the food. Please read below. The service was terrible. We arrived with our reservation at 6 pm. At this time we waited until 630pm before we received our drink order.
At this time it took an additional 15 minutes before we got to pace out order. I am currently writing this to you the readers at 730pm and we are still waiting for our food. If I was to screen shot this I have (insert comment here) for the food portion. I do tend to be critical of service when I am paying a price for it and when there is a sign in the table, which I am reading saying there is a 15% gratuity added in to or bill.
It is mildly frustrating to be here having the time to write this review and I haven’t even tastes the food. Because I feel there is a terrible taste in mouth and I haven’t even tasted the food. Our server just came out and informed us that our food hadn’t even been started yet and if we wanted to cancel we could. We are no arguing over wether or not we should have to pay for the beer. We are refusing.

I came here for lunch. My friend had lost her father the year before and I decided to take her out on the anniversary to have a nice German meal in honor of him. The owner was friendly but came across as pushy she up sold us on every dish (I did not want to argue as I wanted the meal to be pleasant) we ended up spending over $ 80 on a very mediocre lunch. Portions were small and lacked flavor. The owner seemed to have an opion on how youth of today was disrespectful, how gay lifestyle was a sin and a number of other subjects that made us feel uncomfortable. She also insisted on showing photo albums on family members. I understand that she may feel she was being welcoming but honestly we just wanted a nice meal so we could pay respect and enjoy each other’s company. Won’t be going back.

My boyfriend & I came here for a Saturday late lunch/​early dinner. Sadly the place has really gone downhill in quality & service over the years.
I got the Weisswurst with the spatzle & the Cucumber salad. One of my German favorite sides is the Cucumber Salad. Unfortunately mine was fizzy! Yep, you read that right… FIZZY! That would mean it was bad. I was very kind in quietly letting our server know this. I like to think we all make errors & it was just that. But an older woman from the kitchen came out & pretty much argued that she had just made it & was good. No apology at all. Needless to say… we won’t be going back!
We will continue going to Hollerbach in Sanford. Friendlier service & really good food. Or, if we go out of town to Mt. Dora, then we go get authentic homemade German at The Bavarian Haus.

Tour of Munich! Loved the food here. Had the holsteiner schnitzel and Bavarian feast and it was very delicious. I’ve been to both willow tree in Sanford and even authentic places in Munich but this is one of the best. You will love it.

Excellent service! Friendly staff, gorgeous family and great ambiance. The food is on point and the staff will make sure you feel at home! Will come back soon!

wonderful place, wonderful food, excelent service. It feels like grandma’s home. The best german food I ever tried. Must try the Einsbein with Sauerkraut.

This place is like being in the home of a loved one. The owners come tell you jokes and there is live music and home cooked food. A great meal and a great time.

We ended up at Bauern-​Stube by accident, but thought: Why Not? My friend had been there 15 years ago and said the décor hasn’t changed since then… For the first 30 minutes or so, we were the only patrons until another couple arrived, and that was it unless someone came in after we left an hour later… It has the feeling of a multigenerational family run establishment, everyone was friendly. A bread basket was served with different German type breads & butter. Our server gave us a sample of Pea Soup which was delicious. My friend ordered the Bavarian Feast with Bratwurst, Knockwurst, & Weisswurst. The condiments (German mustard, curry ketchup & horseradish) were served in a Vintage Tupperware Condiment Caddy which is fine except that there was dried condiments on the caddy & serving spoons… we were a little grossed out by that… I ordered the Wienerschnitzel. The cutlet was served with fresh lemon, but it really needed a sauce or gravy. Our dinners came with Spätzle (kind of a soft egg noodle or dumpling.) Our server pressured us into having the Red Cabbage as our vegetable which neither of us wanted and most of it remained on our plates.
For dessert we had warm Apple Strudel and Truffle Cake which was probably not made in-​house.
Beverages come with one free refill and a 15% gratuity is automatically added to each check…

I am from Germany and I know what German food is supposed to taste like: definitely not like THIS! Very bad quality of food (canned, over cooked, not fresh, tasteless). Service forgot part of the order (even though there was only 3 other guests) and took much too long. I am very disappointed!!! Not to forget that the food is totally overpriced!!! Me, as a German myself, am ashamed to have non-​Germans believe that this is what German food is supposed to be like!!!

Words cannot express the wonderful experience that we had here! Barbara Brunhilda Elizabeth is an amazing treat who treated us like her own family. She told us stories from her life in Berlin, cracked jokes with us, and made wonderful recommendations to us to ensure that we had a wonderful, authentic meal. The feelings of camaraderie were so strong that the food could have been awful and yet I would have returned– but the food itself was deliciously authentic. Everything we tried, from the potato pancakes to the goulash soup (which we didn’t order initially, but Barbara insisted that we at least have a sample) to our main entrees, was delicious and by far the most authentic food I’ve had since I was last in Germany. If I could rate it higher than five stars I would. Thank you for an amazing dinner experience– we will certainly be back!

Never a bad meal at this place. I eat here quite often and the owner, Barbara is always friendly. Tonight, she was doing the chicken dance with some guests. She always makes you feel at home. I love this place! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out.

If I could give this place a million stars I would! I don’t even know where to start on how fabulous this place is!
We just moved across country and have no family; that being said we just found a new second family!
The service is OUTSTANDING, I have zero complaints. Other places can take a lesson from here on how to manage and serve. Automatic 15% gratuity? Absolutely! Probably the first and only time I’ve ever been ok with this, these folks deserve every penny.
Is the food a little pricey? I don’t think you can put a price on home cooked authentic German food. When I lived in Berlin I went to a butcher shop who made meals to order and they were exactly like this so I’m not sure how much more authentic you can get.
Justine was an amazing server! The owner Ernie (Opa) came over and sat with us for a while and told us stories! And at the end of our meal we were surprised with free apple schnapps shots! Did I mention they started us with a free sample of the split pea (it’s hard to make this unique but they make it soooo amazing!) and the goulash. My boyfriend hates vegetables but even he couldn’t put the spoon down. We both agreed that next time we come were getting a ton of goulash!
I had the German meatballs with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. I literally licked my plate clean with a slice of bread & Ernie came and applauded me on the back. My boyfriend got the Wiener schnitzel, & I have no idea how or what the spices were but they were a combination from heaven. The spätzel was light, fluffy & delicious, not chewy like most people mess up on it.
We were so so so stuffed and sad we didn’t have room for dessert but that apfelstrudel is definitely in our near future! You’ll find us at one of the next live band nights!

I lived in Germany for over 3 years so I was excited to find a German restaurant close to home. I was not happy at all with this place. The meal wasn’t good, we had the Schnitzel it wasn’t good, the potato pancakes tasted like last weeks and they just warmed it up. The Schnitzel was $ 17.95. Totally not worth it, the old dry potato pancakes were $ 7.00, not worth it. On the table in huge letters stood a sign 15% gratuity automatically added to your bill. So if food and service wasn’t good they still get a tip. Not right in my opinion. The music playing sounded like I was on the Congo and not in Germany. I think they had way tooooo much stuff on the walls and everywhere. Needless to say we won’t be back and we will find another German restaurant.

Service was nice, but not good. They were out of several things (which is ok) but wanted to up charge for a substitution.
Food is overpriced and just ok. The price is actually up to $ 5 more then the menu that’s uploaded here.

Authentic German food in Orlando!
From the Rouladen mit Red Cabbage und boiled potatoes, to the Jaegerschnitzel mit Rottkraut und Spaetzel mit Rahm sauce… everything was perfect!
The breads were thick and hearty.
And the best part?
The OWNER COMES OVER WITH APPLE SCHNAPPS SHOTS!
The place is cozy… With decorations everywhere.
Live accordion music added to the ambiance.

This place was very authentic. Decent prices for the quantity you get. It was fun and personal. The staff was nice and accommodating and the live accordion was pretty sweet. Only on Friday and Saturday nights do you get this opportunity. Enjoyed for sure.

Wow, wow, wow. Not only are you immediately engulfed in Germanic décor, but german music and the language.
I started with a bowl of goulash that changed my opinion on goulash. It was damn good. Then I had the «gypsy steak» (not bad) with cheese spätzel (good if you like spätzel) and mashed potatoes that could have been a delicious concrete. Throw a liter of black beir on top of that und you’re set! They don’t have a bar top so if you come alone, deal with it because my lord, this place rocks.

We had a great dinner here. The interior décor is very interesting and so is the seating. A mix of large round and long rectangular tables like they are having a big family reunion. It looks odd at first but it all works well together.
We had very friendly and attentive service. The potato pancakes were wonderful as was the German potato salad. The Bavarian Feast (Bratwurst, Knockwurst, and Weisswurst) was all high quality and well seasoned. It really came across as a home cooked meal. Just wish they had a pretzel appetizer and some additional German beer selections.
We have passed by this place many times but never stopped in because it doesn’t look like anything special from the outside. Seems like Unilocal reviewers either love or hate this place — count me in as the former. So glad we gave it a try. We will be back!

We were flying out of Orlando and staying a hotel in the area. Used Unilocal to find something non-​fast food.
This place was great. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. But inside you’ll feel like you were transported to a Bavarian inn.
The service was ok. She was the only waitress and a little understaffed. But she did a good job.
The food was excellent.
We’ll be back !!
