Went here for dinner with my family when we were trying to find a place to hang out. We sat outside where there was an live entertainment. Was a loud atmosphere but what was expected. The food was ok. Didn’t really want anything too big since I had a big lunch so I ordered pot stickers from the appetizers section. Was ok nothing to special. I loved the free pickles which were yummy. A new option from the bread or chips and salsa as you can find a some restaurants. Would go back again with a bigger Appetite.

We go here often. They have very loud live music, which can make it hard to carry on a conversation. I wish they would lower the level a bit. The food is very good-the menu isn’t overwhelming and everything I’ve had is tasty. They bring homemade dill pickles to the table which is pretty cool and unique. They also have board games to play while you wait for your food which my kids like. Very fun!

The homemade pickles & drinks in mason jars are amazing. I also had a few good appetizers & enjoyed the music. Great wait staff with prompt service.

We love the atmosphere here. Always laid back — great for kids, too, because they can hang on the swan boat and play in the sand while the grown ups chat and have a drink. I always get the shrimp Po boy. If you fit it in your mouth, then you are a far better eater than me! I always fork and knife it. The smores for dessert are a must. Almost like being at the beach on a warm summer night!

Delicious! Got the wings, braised short rib bowl, and breakfast! Everything was awesome! They’re sweet potato salad was so yummy — I’ve never had anything like it! Amazing pickles too!

This is a good place to hangout. The bartender was friendly and the beer selection was quite good. We had the Carmel fries, nachos, pepperoni flatbread, chicken wings, and fried pickles. Sort of an appetizer type of day. In all everything was good and more than enough food for the 5 of us. The live music was good(loud) and the service was fast and attentive. I definitely will return with a group to enjoy.

I just realized I haven’t written a review for this place. Definitely my favorite restaurant/bar in Downtown South. Food never disappoints, probably my favorite mac n cheese in the area. They have great cocktails at a great price, good happy hour, and live music every day! I have to admit though, my favorite time to go is brunch. The manmosas are a must, and the food selections are different than the norm and absolutely delicious. They have been getting quite busy lately, which caused a bit of a problem with parking, so they now have free valet available as well.

I wanted to try this place out since it’s not too far from where I work. Awesome outside seating for chilling after work when it’s not blazing hot. Although it doesn’t sit right on the water, you do have a nice view of Lake Jennie Jewel from across Orange Ave if you are sitting outside. Good selection of IPA’s and the prices were right! Vanbarry’s also had a good cocktail selection and full bar as well. I started out with Sweet Spot Tacos. They looked so good and the sweet chili sauce glazed on top looked so promising. My first bite tasted fishy, in the way that said ‘something’ isn’t right fishy. I couldn’t exactly pinpoint what it was… freezer burn? fishy in not a good way, but no not really. So my guest tried it and said to send it back. Our server, Mandi, was more than ok with getting me something else. So here came the Taco Mama and mami it was good. The short ribs were tender and full of flavor, and with a addition of ‘beer bacon jam’, well you couldn’t go wrong. The blue cheese was a perfect addition. The taco and beer came up to $ 12. Take some napkins if you go to the bathroom. I will have to give Vanbarry’s another go before I toss is completely aside. Have a seat outside if you need a B Grade place for a bite and beer.

First you cannot beat the price. Everything we ordered on the brunch menu was under $ 10. They have pretty decent mimosas, margaritas and bloody Mary’s. Best part is they are served in Mason Jars. The fish taco was really good and their eggs Benedict. We ordered the s’mores for dessert but the burner wouldn’t melt the marshmallow. We ended of using a torch lighter for cigars. This is a family friendly atmosphere. You can smoke on the outside patio. They have live performers and the Sunday we went, the young lady was amazing. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because our server was very forgetful and would disappear for long periods of time. We had to ask other servers for our straws, condiments and check. Other than that, everyone and everything else was on point. Definitely recommend going here if you want to avoid the downtown/Lake Ivanhoe crowd for brunch.

Great little spot off of Orange avenue. I really dig the outside seating area. They offered live music tonight(Saturday). The whole menu looked very appetizing. However, we only had the opportunity to try the nachos and the mahi fingers and both were delicious:) service was friendly including the host stand. jen helped us out in particular regarding a valet parking situation. There is a private lot but apparently on busy nights, there is complimentary valet. I’m looking forward to trying more of this menu again soon:)

I’ve only been here twice and it’s not terribly far from my house so I’m not sure why I don’t think of it more often. The restaurant itself is pleasing — across the street from a lake, sandy fire pit to hang out in, large patio, tvs for sports, nice inside area — all in all it’s an attractive place to hang out at. For food, I do really enjoy their tomato soup and I’m tomato soup picky so this says a lot! I’ve had some sort of sandwiches in the past and during my last visit, the walnut salad. All have been good. Not like wow me amazing but worth eating. The salad was HUGE so that was nice. Prices are decent for what you get as well. I haven’t had drinks here yet because I’ve only come during my work day but I frequent Ollies and I know it’s a lot of the same which is fine by me.

Getting caught up on my Unilocal reviews. Vanbarry’s seemed that it could be a fun place to hang out. We stopped by one evening and had an inside both. Next to us was a big counter with lots and lots of family board games; things like Pictionary, Uno, Connect Four, Checkers. I mean real board games. This gave me the impression that they encourage guests to come in and hang out for a while. We have noticed that the parking lot always seems to be crowded. There was a bustling crowd on the patio out front and lots of activity inside. The food wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good and the meal wasn’t memorable. In place of a bread service they have a jar of what seems to be home made pickles. Yes I said, pickles. That part was memorable and the pickles were delicious. What I do remember about the meal is that the menu seemed to be limited with the standard greasy bar choices. The pickles were so good that we asked to buy a jar. The server explained that they no longer sell the pickles because it causes them to run out. Because of the pickles we may try Vanbarry’s another time. If we do we will update our review.

Live music every night by great vocalist make this one of my favorite spots. The food always comes out fast and is tasty. The brisket tacos and wings are my fave! The bartenders are real mixologist and make some mean cocktails! The only thing that could possibly make this place better is having Adam Moreno perform every night :)

I really enjoy going to Vanberry’s! I think they have some of the BEST burgers in town! They cook the burgers to the temperature that you want which is nice, some places will only go medium. They have a really cool neighborhood feel that includes live music on some nights. Vanberry’s also has a shelf with lots of board and card games to play with your friends while you wait for your tasty food! I also enjoy the home made pickles they bring to your table when you get there! Yummm!

This place is a great little indoor/outdoor spot! My favorite thing about it is the sand pit around an outdoor fire where kids can play! Live music, great drink selection. I got the pork tacos and they were delicious! It also has a Water view from the patio. Great family spot! I can’t wait to go back! It’s got the pub feel inside, and the backyard feel outside.

MACATTACK! The Mac & Cheese Skillet at Vanbarry’s(and add prosciutto, because, why not?) should come with a warning: YOUWILLLIKELYBECOMEADDICTED. Yeah, it’s tasty! it has a lovely crisp cheese top, creamy middle, and is big enough for sharing without the inflated«shareable» price tag of many brass-and-fern restaurants. THEBREAKFASTBURGER(Fire-grilled ground beef topped with bacon, cheddar & a fried egg) was terrific, and I can see why other Unilocalers have commented on their terrific burgers. ALFREDOPASTABOWL(Fettuccine pasta tossed in our creamy alfredo sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, parmesan cheese & topped with shrimp) was very good too, and definitely enough for two meals. Also: PICKLESONTHETABLE! This makes me unreasonably happy! There was great live music, we loved every song, but it was too loud on a Tuesday night to sit inside and have a conversation… we sat out on the patio, even though it was chilly. They have a great fire pit, too! I feel the need to go back and try their S’mores!

Whilst in Orlando for the day my guy and I were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. We found out Vanbarry’s was close to where we were and decided to check the place out. Pretty good find on my part, if I do say so myself. The restaurant itself is decently sized, which is good. The place wasn’t packed by any means, but I’m sure on the weekends it can get hectic. We found a table near the front, took a seat, and were quickly greeted by our waitress. They have really great beer and craft soda options which is great! I ordered the Sweet Potato Casserole beer on tap and my guy got Ginger Beer. Both were awesome! The waitress came back shortly after we got our drinks to take our food order. I ordered the veggie burger with fries and my guy got the tomato soup. The food came out from the kitchen super fast! Again, both were excellent! I really don’t have any complaints besides the fact that the waitress never came back to check on us during our meal. I really wanted an extra side of mayo with my burger, but I ended up eating it with-out it. Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice. Overall I recommend Vanbarry’s, just be sure to ask for whatever you want before you get your meal.

This was my first time at Vanberry’s and I’d definitely return. During happy hour, can beers are $ 1 off. I went with a large group and the service was great. I got the Bacon Jam burger with sweet potato salad. It was delicious. The burger had a lot of flavor; messy but packed with flavor. The sweet potato salad was nice and creamy. Very tasty too. Highly recommend.

My friend and I decided to check out this place after seeing that it was part of the Main street Restaurant week and that the people who own this spot also own Ollie’s and Finnhenry’s. The atmosphere is relaxed and chill. It is open seating, so you can pick to eat inside or on patio where there is a fire pit. The night we went must have been 80’s night because the music playing was all 1980’s and a few people were dressed in neon colors and leg warmers. The Main street menu was good but didn’t have much variety so we both decided to order from the regular menu. The regular menu has so many choices that it was quite difficult to make a decision. You can pick from paninis, sandwiches to tacos and burgers. These are the things I likes most about this place 1) the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and quick 2) The pickles in a jar! WOW. I personally love pickles so this was a plus for me 3) The food. After debating on whether or not to get the panini, I picked the Cha Cha Chicken which is a grilled chicken sandwich on a kaiser roll with a side salad. The sandwich was delicious, tasty and filling(I was unable to eat the whole sandwich) In conclusion, this spot is an excellent place to chill/relax and mingle. Also they have a live band which in my opinion is a added bonus. If you want to get away from the craziness of finding parking downtown but still want to be close enough to downtown Orlando, Vanbarry’s Public House is a great place to eat, mingle and enjoy live music. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.
