Place was really friendly and the food was great. Had the burgers which were cooked right and juicy

This restaurant is a mixed bag for me. I’ve had both good and bad experiences at this establishment. All the dishes I’ve tried have been good but not great. The bar is a whole different ball of wax. Out of the six or seven times I visited the service has been decent but most of the bartenders needed to polish their skill set. The selections of beer/liquor are standard and the wine list is less than adequate. Unfortunately, I would look elsewhere to have a cocktail but consider it lunch for a lunch stop. ** I have heard a rumor that Ollie’s may be taking over this location and that should bring a good change.

While the exterior of the restaurant could be spruced up the food is a god value. I’ve enjoyed the meals I’ve had hear including pork chops, lunch specials with soup and a chicken sandwich.

Found this place on Unilocal and though I would give it’s try while I was visiting Orlando. The place looked great in photos but fell a little short on the outside but inside it is very clean and the staff is friendly. The food we ordered was great. **their tater tots are AMAZING** I would recommend this place for casual dining/lunch.

Heard so many great things about this place, finally decided to give it a try. Let me start by saying the service was excellent. We were greeted at the door when we came and, and walked out when we were finished. Ordered the Mac and Jack A blend of three Cheeses, crisp Bacon and Olde Pelican EPA from Orlando Brewery tossed with tender Rigatoni pasta also added chicken. It was AWESOME, and extremely filling. Happy hour is from 4 – 7 and it looked like they had a delish menu for Sunday Brunch. I did notice $ 2 mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s at Sunday Brunch. We did end up here on a Sat night, wasn’t crowded at all. The waitress was great, the food came out perfect. Would definitely go back.

I really want to like this place but after multiple visits it just ain’t happenin’. My most recent visit was on Saturday night, we went around 9:30 and even double checked that they were still serving before we went in. The servers here are always pleasant so no complaints there. The food on the other hand, always falls short. I was going to go for the soup, salad and wine combo which I think is a great idea but the only soup they had that night was pork and black bean and that’s just not my cup of tea. I decided to just get the mac n’ cheese with the added mushrooms and a glass of wine. The wine is a great deal — $ 4 per glass. Each entrée comes with a salad and everything is decently priced. The salads came out and they were literally a plate full of lettuce and 2 bite size tomatoes. Nothing else. My boyfriend had actually asked for an entrée sized salad but he only received the side portion… probably best because no one wants to eat a plate of lettuce. My boyfriend also ordered a mojito, which I always caution against because very few people make mojitos the proper way. This one had a very strange taste, either the limes or some type of syrup they used. He barely drank 2 sips. Next the food. My mac n’ cheese came out cold with a few luke warm bites. Seriously? There were no more than 5 patrons in the restaurant so I’m not even sure why my food would be cold. It had zero flavor either. So yeah, my meal ended there. Not sure how you ruin mac n’ cheese but they’ve figured it out. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp dish. His was hot and had flavor but it was nothing to rave about. I only had one bite so I can’t say much more than that. I have, however, been assured that we will not be returning. I really hate writing bad reviews, but time and time again this place has failed us. We really wanted them to be amazing and successful, it’s a great location and so convenient for us but unfortunately it just isn’t looking good.

Had an orlando weekly coupon which gave $ 20 for $ 9 so decided to check out Tommy Addisons. All I can say is that I would not return unless I had another coupon to use! They were out of the Salmon so I ordered the chicken with 3 cheeses and prosciutto. Salads came almost immediately but then we waited 25 minutes for our entrees! Chicken itself was hot and very tasty but the polenta it came with was cold. My dinner companion ordered the flatiron steak which was also tasty but then Tommy Addisons was out of steak sauce to accompany it. Waiter was friendly enough but overly solicitous. He kept trying to foist off appetizers, desserts and more drinks on us. Had to tell him 3 times that we did not want dessert. I’ve heard that the brunch here is quite good so I may try that but«Nyet» to dinner again.

Tried out this place for the first time last night. I had a black and blue burger and my husband had the shrimp and grits. I really have on complaints — service was good and food was good. I’ll definitely try it again.

1÷3÷12 The worst service tonight. There two hours and only got two drinks. Waited 10 mins for 2nd drink and after 20 mins waiting on another drink we left to get service elsewhere. Scottie is not the best bartendeer, will go elsewhere when he’s there.

Tried this place for the first time. I’ve watched several restaurants come and go in this location. Didn’t really have any expectations, though. Service was a little slow, especially since the place wasn’t that full, but all the food tasted really great. I have to say their plating was not very consistent though. Three people ordered the Irish beef stew, and every one was different. One got no potatoes(though the server did bring him some to add in). Another had little broth compared to the other two. The meat was cooked well, and the overall flavor was great, though.

Great food, service and atmosphere! This location has been several restaurants since I have been in the area, but I hope Tommy Addison’s is growing roots as this neighborhood could really use some great food for affordable prices! We went in because of a promo left on our door — one free drink(up to $ 5) per entrée. It was still HH so the drinks were only $ 4, but still a great deal. Both had a Malbec. We ordered the shrimp and spinach dip as our app — deeeeee-lish. Main courses were the Ohio Railroad chicken — super tender and moist with an amazing polenta cake — think of super creamy big hushpuppie. I ordered the fresh catch — a red fish, similar to snapper — fish was cooked perfectly, melted like butter — veggies were ok, but the fish was too amazing for them to compete. No dessert — will have to come back to try the fried cheesecake. A great first visit, and we signed up for the email list to receive offers and free drinks(hopefully)!

Stopped by for a bite with friends in the latest reincarnation of a former Perkin’s restaurant building. Many have tried — and failed — in this location(maybe the early departure by a generally well-accepted chain should provide clues to future proprietors!) The new tenants have swiped a little ‘lipstick on the pig’, but it remains with much same layout and furnishings apparently left by earlier restaurant entrepreneurs. Speaking if Pigs. .. A member of our party opted for the Atlantic Coast Line Pork Chop(actually two 1″ thick chops) which the waiter specified would be served medium rare. Now I know pork preparation has come a long way in recent years and it is no longer deemed necessary to cook a hunk’o pig until it is tough & dry throughout — But this poor chop was just short ‘oinking’ at the touch of a fork! Avoiding the extremely rare(cool pink) areas nearest the bone meant leaving about half the entrée on the plate. Flat breads are your typical industrial restaurant food service doughy lavash with various toppings. Not a bad deal for bar snacking at happy-hour pricing, though certainly nothing special. The Shellfish Griddle Cakes appetizer were anything but. .. A fair portion of fishy cakes accompanied with a tart, semi-spicey Cajun Tartar Sauce that did all it could to masque the overt fishy-ness of the fried marine-something patties. A bowl of Shanty Irish Stout Beef Stew proved to be quite satisfying to the appetite, if not the eye. While the portion ‘looked’ smallish it was rich and completely filling for this hungry patron. On another visit, I and a friend each had the Grilled Flatiron Steak. To glance at the plates you would never know we ordered the same menu item! I realize that each Flatiron steak cut is, by nature, unique to some degree — But one was small, tough and dry and the other one of fair size and cooked properly. Both were ordered to grilled to a medium temperature. Most entrees are served with a joke of salad. A few pieces of over-the-hill lettuce and couple of grape tomatoes flung sadly on a salad plate. C’mon kitchen, maybe you should un-bag the lettuce mix and freshen the leaves prior to plating! A good salad is appreciated by most — Too bad this one lost it’s appreciation before landing on my table. Service is eager, if untrained in traditional restaurant service. Far too much reaching across the table in front of patrons, lack of product familiarity of menu items and most important — Most waitstaff wore unclean white aprons(over jeans) on both visits. Surely a restaurant that puts staff in white aprons has a stock of clean garments ready at all times? I’m not talking about a finger smudge here & there, but down-right DIRTY as if working the line in the kitchen before dinner service. Not pretty or professional. Tommy Addison’s will suffice as a neighborhood eatery providing a solid meal at a decent price, but do not mistake this to be a ‘better evening’ dining destination by any means. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, the world needs more independent diners and T.A.‘s fits the category nicely. .. Just tell the waitstaff to wear a clean apron and leave any pretentious haughtiness at the door.

NOTE: The owner graciously reached out to me and has offered nothing by professionalism and courtesy of FIVE star caliber. The experience below was 1 star. I’m bumping this up to 3 stars. _______________________________________________________ You know in «Inception» when Cobb would spin his totem to see if he was in a dream or not? Well our fabulously rude waiter spun our totem for us when he THREW my friend’s app plate down and we watched incredulously as it spun and settled into place w/o so much as an apology. This sums up our brief experience here. We were very excited to be back here because three and ½ years ago I moved away and the former«Gentry’s» was«our place». Well you truly canNOT go home again as we both learned. I don’t what Waiter X’s problem was — I do know his name but I hate throwing people totally under the bus, but I did enjoy mocking him endless once we got to a happier restaurant. We were going to have a full meal here — drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts but before he even resentfully got our drinks to us we were done and decided on where we were off to next. As we left, another waiter who held the door for us asked if things were okay. My friend eloquently summed up our experience«Waiter X is a bit of a butthole». The waiter asked if she wanted him to tell Waiter X. She responded, «No, he has my credit card number.» That’s why she’s my best friend and this is why this is no longer«our place».

YEAH! Finally a great neighborhood restaurant/bar south of downtown with unique food items and a nice happy hour. This place has wonderful food and not just trendy TGI Fridays or some other chain restaurant. This has high quality reasonable priced food with menu items that tantalize your taste buds. I found several items that I want to go back and try. My family is coming for a visit and this place is going onto the agenda. The service by Gina was excellent and her years of experience were clear in the way she engaged with diners. We really liked her personally and she offered suggestions on some choices we made with our side items and salads. Immediately upon entering the restaurant we were greeted and treated like valued guests. As for the previous review, if you need to take so many words to slam a restaurant then it turns into a rant. I like the reasonable prices for the menu items and if I want something different, I don’t mind paying a little more.

I have been here twice and also had the wonderful Gina as our server. Food is very flavorful and refills come without prompting. Had dinner first time(killer meat loaf, yum). Lunch yesterday had Gina’s recommendation of grilled turkey sandwich with cranberry relish, which was fabulous. Took an out of town guest who loved it and wants to back on another trip to Orlando. Met owner on first visit and found that the restaurant is a true reflection of his nice manner.

ARGH!!! I soooo wanted to like this place before I got there. I want something in this location to be good. Had heard from family members that this place wasn’t too shabby. Looking at the menu, the prices were reasonable. Had a variety of home cooked meals or sandwiches to choose from. Tuesday night is burger night and Happy Hour is each day from 4−7pm. Got there around 6:30pm on a Tuesday, bar was a lil crowded but there was seating at tables available. So we sit down and the place is pretty nice, pretty clean. In the background they are playing 50’s music and oldies… MEH. Not against it but could be a little more with the current times. I felt 65 years old at this point. Anyways, part of our party orders flat breads and stuff which were at Happy Hour prices. After a little while, I did the burger deal and added cheddar cheese(for a price), grilled onions(for a price), and then apple-wood bacon(for a price, but i would expect to pay on this item). Also ordered a side salad. After about 5 — 10 more minutes, the flat breads came out even though we had ordered them like 15 minutes before. Even though the wait was long, they looked pretty good, I’ll let that slip this time. Then the salads came out… Now those of you that have read my previous reviews of places know my issues with places serving sub-par side salads. This happens to be one of those places. CMON!!! Just some Italian lettuce that looks a couple days old on a cold plate with 2 cherry tomatoes is NOT a salad. Salads are sooooo cheap to make, why cut costs there?! WHY?! For the best side salad in town, reference Brick and Fire on Orange Ave. Still the best. Finished the salads and then just kinda sat there. I mean, really just waiting on the burgers. Since ordering the burgers, it shouldn’t take that long to cook and serve. In this case it was 25 to 30 mins since ordering. Very frustrating especially for our first visit. It might have made things a lil better IF the burger was outta this world, BUT it was not. Now remember, I ordered the burger with sharp cheddar, grilled onions, and apple wood bacon. The burger comes out. First thing I notice are 2 slices of bright red tomato that actually looked pretty good(although I don’t like raw tomato sooo that’s out. Memo: Put that tomato on the salads instead of those puny cherry tomatoes!!!). Also on the plate was a single piece of lettuce. Again skimping on the cheap stuff. Onto the burger presentation, all I see is the burger with cheese and two lame-ass pieces of bacon on it. I immediately said, «where’s the onions???». Oh they are under the cheese… really??? Yes, there were a few pieces of onions under the cheese. Shizzz if I paid extra for a topping, put a bunch on there and make it look like you put a bunch on there. Don’t hide it under the cheese! Ohhhhh the bacon… This bacon looked like the bacon you buy from the grocery store that’s already cooked and you pop in the microwave for 15 seconds. This representation of apple wood bacon was pretty sad. It was definitely not cooked recently from scratch. Just heated up. Oh well. The burger was actually cooked to perfection surprisingly which was good but then I had to walk over to another table to get ketchup and mustard… argh. The service was really not good and I’m not sure if the service possibly screwed up the timing on the burgers or not. Who knows? We had to ask multiple times to get drinks refilled and everything took quite a while. I had a water after my two beers. Before we even got the bills, no water refill for me. She just took the glass like I was ready to go. For 2 beers, a side salad and a burger, we were there from 6:30pm to 8:05pm. Wayyy too long for a simple meal like that. I think the worst part was at the end, either a manager or someone came by the table and brought up the fact that the burgers took forever but didn’t really say too much. Just a sorry, not really personable and my mom even was like«ya, this is their first time here». Way to go mom for the embarrassment. I mean, at that point, give me your business card for a free flat bread or something. Make me want to come back PLEASE! Also, a person at our table had a soup missing on their bill and pointed it out to the server. ADVICE: Server, just say thanks but don’t go back and add it to their bill especially something as cheap as a cup of soup. Argh… AGAIN! I’d like to try and give this place a second chance but would need some convincing to go again if it is any time soon. The concept is alright, possibly a little more modernizing might help, especially drawing in a younger crowd. I mean, the menu is definitely affordable. Stop being ticky tacky with the cheap stuff. Profit is attained by building a customer base, not saving half a penny on 1 piece of lettuce instead of 2 or 3. Happy Hour(daily 4−7pm) Wines — $ 4 Cocktails & Martinis — $ 4 Dom Bottles — $ 2 Drafts– $ 4 Flatbreads — $ 3 Tuesday Night is Burger Night — BOGO

This place has been open for awhile now. A nice little gem south of downtown in the old Zenzi building, but don’t expect the high priced, low quality food you got at Zenzi. Tommy Addison’s boast good quality food at a reasonable prices. Now having become a regular here let me tell about the goods! I am not go into item by item but some of my favorites. The burgers are very good. if you order the chicken sandwich, get it blackened(Yummy) the roasted garlic potato soup is to die for, but they dont have it often. the meatloaf is good, its prepared as individual loaf & comes with a shallot sauce(ohh so good) my personal favorite is the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Chicken, this is chicken stuffed with cheese, cheese served with a polenta cake that is cooked to perfection. Lets not forget dessert, the fried cheesecake is very good served with fresh strawberries & purée. Ohh & never have had bad service there. they are very perticular & deamand that the customers come 1st! so for a great place to eat & not break your dining budget. try Tommy’s they also have a full bar!

Recently tried out Tommy Addison’s on South Orange. It’s where Zenzi’s used to be. The food is far better and for more reasonable prices. They’re now open for lunch and are offering lunch specials. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We will be back!
