Berries N’ Cream is a tiny(2 indoor tables) little identity crisis of a place that serves smoothies, coffees, ice cream, sandwiches, and salads. Due to the significant space constraints, the ice cream is limited to about 8 flavors at a time, and the coffee selections are generally flavor variations of coffee and hot chocolate(some of which definitely sound interesting, but you won’t find a full coffee bar here). There are also several smoothie options. I came in for a sandwich, and the sign outside advertised a $ 5 lunch special — a roast beef sandwich with au jus and a bag of chips. I also ordered the large iced tea for an additional $ 1.25. There are no fountain drinks here, so if you’re in the mood for something in that family you’ll have to pull a bottle from the cooler. The roast beef sandwich, which came out warm and pressed, had thick slices of roast beef, but there were only a couple. It resulted in a sandwich that was far more bread than anything else. It tasted very good, but I needed more of it. Perhaps this is a side effect of the $ 5 price tag? Hopefully the other sandwiches, ranging from $ 7.50 to $ 9.25, are far more hefty than this one. The iced tea was clean and refreshing tasting, better than many. The owners seem like friendly people and I wish them the best with this new shop. I do have to wonder if they’d be better off focusing on a couple of things rather than trying to do everything… Oh, and no matter what, whether I’m reading the store’s name, thinking it, or saying it aloud, for the life of me I can’t avoid having this guy pop into my head:
