I called the geeks to see about a tv repair. I was told I would be better off getting a new tv because I would be looking at $ 400-$ 600 for repairs. I called Dons tv hut and I only paid $ 154.00. My point being shop around. You can save alot of money if you just get it fixed. Don’t flush your money down the toilet.

Geek squad has always been my favorite protection out there. They are always extremely helpful and they always take care of my problems. I always buy their warranty on all of my purchases because I know I won’t be disappointed with their service

Best Buy seems determined to chase away the few remaining customers they have left. We bought an antenna 3 weeks ago and it didn’t work in our home. Upon returning it we learned the return policy(with receipt) is 2 weeks we only got store credit. Amazon would’ve told us to drop it in the mail and our money would be in the account immediately. Best buy got their $ 85 but it will be the last from me. Amazon you will get all of our business.

Had to call Best Buy geek squad on E. Colonial to get my new radio unit installed in my car, Derek got me scheduled within two hours and was done after 45 minutes. He even fixed my clock which was previously damaged. Great job, worth the money, in and out!!!

Useless. U-S-E-L-E-S-S. If you can get someone to pay attention, great, but build in 20 minutes to stand around waiting for service. Now, the people we did deal with were friendly and really tried to be helpful; I have nothing at all against the employees. It’s that the concept of the Geek Squad — a group of computer experts who can diagnose and repair with ease — is totally lost on Best Buy. These are just people manning a desk. Best advice we received over the phone? Turn the computer off and then on again. In person, they were slightly more helpful, reinstalling some software after a refresh of the PC. This, though, after we explained that the first time this software was installed no one handed us our disks, product keys, security codes, nothing. Big mistake. And no apology or remedy. In the end, we got the issue handled — mostly — but just know that going to the Geek Squad is like asking your neighbor for help.

I wish I could rate the Geek Squad less than one star. I have tried to use them twice. First time I needed to replace the screen on an older Toshiba laptop. Took it to the Best Buy store and Geek Squad quoted me $ 550 to replace the broken LCD screen. I bought a replacement screen online and found instructions also online and did it myself for under $ 50. Took me less than thirty minutes. Next, recently, I bought a new 46″ Samsung LED television from them. I requested a quote from Geek Squad to remove my old 46″ off the wall and place the new one on the wall. They wanted $ 110 to take the old television down, $ 110 to put the new television up(on an existing mount) and another $ 125 to «connect the components.» I explained connecting the components on mine set up consisted of plugging the HDMI cable into the back of the TV. Didn’t matter. They wanted $ 125 to plug that one cable in. So the total cost was going to be over $ 345. I called a local installation service that charge $ 25 to take the old TV down(and they carried to my storage area for free), $ 60 to place the new TV on the wall mount and I paid them another $ 50 to put in a new electrical outlet behind the television so we have no wires hanging. Even bought an extra HDMI cable from them for the DVD player. So I wound up getting more service than the Geek Squad was offering for less than half the money. And the installation looks great. I will never even bother with a quote from these guys again.

Would much rather deal with manufactures.

Ok, not the location or reps’ fault, but the recovery was WAAAAY over-priced. I called their contracted Recovery Service directly and they were able to quote the exact work order for over $ 500 cheaper. I figured I should just finish what I started and chop it up as a loss considering they DID recover 95% of the total data and 100%(so far) of what I wanted most. OH! Also Geek Squad’s Recovery Department Reps — not so great! Half the time they don’t pick up(solution: hang up, right call back — they’ll pick up) and they don’t punctually follow up when they say they will, nor do they communicate with each other because I got two call from them regarding the same update from different reps.(?) But for next time, or anybody else out there, I would go call up Geek Squad and find out who they use and call the third-party directly! Skip the middle(Geek Squad) men! Steve, was still great!
