The place was empty on a Saturday night. Not a good sign! You could see the tumbleweeds rolling in… I tried this place out because of a Groupon and it was not even worth the Groupon. The entire time country music was blaring. The bartender was cool. Very friendly and accommodating. The beer selection was not that great either. Too bad we don’t have a cool bar to hang out at in the Waterford area.

Was hoping to find a good brew bar on east side, this place just ok at best– selection great, service ok, noise from club next door pounding into bar was annoying, crowd mainly college kids… Think I’ll stick to my old faves worth a few more minutes of travel downtown…

Located on the far side of the Home Depot/Kohl’s plaza in Waterford lakes. Really, the perfect option for those who are stuck shopping with their significant other at either place. Drop them at Home Depot or Kohl’s and head to Brew for a beverage instead of being stuck. Hubby and I saddled up to the bar to use a gift voucher for $ 30 that had been given to us. Bartender was super nice, very attentive. Crowd at the bar was pretty random and lots of people seemed to have vouchers of some sort. We had nice discussions with the people around us throughout our time there. There was a TV behind the bar, but not others around the room. No liquor– just beer and a few wines. About 9 beers on draft– 3 domestics, 4 – 5 craft and a cider. Lots of interesting import and craft bottled beer and a few bottled ciders. We were both surprised it wasn’t more crowded, I don’t know if that was because we were here during the holiday week or if it’s usually slow. We’ll be back the next time we are on this side of town.

Really big selection of craft beers, ciders, and ales along with $ 2 shot specials of fake Jaegermeister for all the UCF students. I drank my Blanche de Bruxelles while my boyfriend and I went a few rounds of cornhole! They had really good music on… and when they busted out Sublime«Santeria», I made the egregious error of saying…“Holy crap, this was my favorite song my freshman year of college!”…and the 10 little co-eds nearby literally stopped talking mid-sentence…you could hear crickets. I felt old. Real old. Then I left. So…good beer… young little cuties… great music. Old people allowed… not necessarily welcome, but they are allowed in.

I always like to see when a new bar with a focus on good beer opens up, it’s great to see there is finally a growing appreciation in this country for beer that doesn’t suck. Twelve years ago, I could only think of one place in Orlando that had a truly great beer selection and that place relied so heavily on liquor sales that it shut down shortly after the owner made the mistake of dropping the liquor license. Now, however, a good beer place can survive on its own even without any liquor at all, and more of them are popping up all the time it seems like. Brew does have a liquor selection, but it’s not particularly extensive — you get the sense that the beer is the main focus. Okay, so points awarded for having some decent beer. The rest of the bar seems a bit lackluster. Only a handful of people were in there on a Friday night. The bar itself is sort of all over the place, with a single pool table next to an indoor cornhole game and a popcorn machine behind the bar. Indoor cornhole seems like a bad idea in a bar, but a group of guys came in and started playing(after ordering«something that tastes like Dos Equis») and, needing a fourth, ended up finding it in the bartender who left his post and his customers to play a round.
