The service and the decoration are both good. The food is tasty, the shrimp is absolutely fresh and nice. It’s a bit pricy.

Service was suuuuuper slow here. Our waitress didn’t pay is much mind until the end, when she became interactive with the Forrest Gump questions. My shrimp po’ was okay and they weren’t cheap on the shrimp. The ancho chili sauce was soooooo good. I’m a sauce fanatic so I asked for more to take with me. They don’t have any lunch specials, that would’ve been nice. All in all, this location is average. Stars deducted for service + the tails on my shrimp being left-on a sandwich.

I went here on vacation in January. I always wanted to go to Universal Studios Orlando as a kid to see(the long closed) Nickelodeon Studios. I figured going to Bubba Gump Shrimp at Universal is as close as I’ll get. For those who don’t know, Universal has a theme park area as well as the«City Walk» area which has restaurants, a movie theater, and several different stores. City Walk is open to the public and it’s free to get in. You do have to pass through security and your bags will be searched however. Once you take a series of moving walkways from the parking ramp, Bubba Gump is one of the first things you see as you enter the City Walk area. We arrived around 7 on a brisk, 50 degree Florida night. We approached the host stand and were told the wait would be about an hour. I normally wouldn’t wait that long but that was the last stop of the night and I thought it would give us some time to explore the City Walk area. We put our name in and the hosts seemed to have a good handle on getting people in. Fast forward almost exactly an hour and our names were called. We were guided to another host stand inside the restaurant and were promptly seated. The place was at capacity and seemed to be run well. The waiter we had was outgoing and had a good personality. After we placed our order, they asked us various Forrest Gump trivia. «Bubba Gump Shrimp» is from the movie Forrest Gump if you didn’t know. One of the unique features of the restaurant is a sign on every table that reads«Run Forrest Run» on one side and«Stop Forrest Stop» on the other. If you flip the sign to «Stop», any staff member walking by will stop and ask what you need. This seems like a good solution to ensure good service regardless of how busy your server is. We used the sign a few times and someone always came up quickly. Kudos to whoever thought of this idea. I ordered one of their specialty, alcoholic fruit drink. It may have been $ 12 but when in Rome… or Universal Studios Orlando, I thought it was worth a try. The food came out fairly quickly. I ordered a Shrimp pasta and I thought it was good. The rest of the table enjoyed their food as well. Portions were pretty generous. All and all, Bubba Gump Shrimp at Orlando Studios City Walk provided a filling, fun meal on my vacation to Florida and I would recommend it to anyone staying or passing through Orlando, especially the Universal Studios area.

Excellent Service is worth the visit. This location is always busy, but the excellent staff keep me coming back. They understand folks visit the area from all over the world and this provide an experience that is unforgettable. Patrick, our waiter, took our special drink request and delivered it perfectly.

This restaurant is less about the food and more about the Forrest Gump experience. They have the movie playing on a loop, a ping pong paddle drink/dessert menu, movie-related license plates, movie trivia questions asked by your waiter(so study up!), and a Run Forrest Run sign on your table. The food comes second. My dish, the fried shrimp, was mediocre. When you get a plate of breaded shrimp and French fries(pictured), the flavors are pretty one note, so there’s not much to rave about. Occasionally I would get a fry with some seasoning on it(think Cajun fries), but more often than not, they were plain ol’ fries that needed ketchup. Fortunately, every table comes prepped with its own ketchup and mustard bottles, along with a roll of paper towels, in flashy silver buckets. The cocktail sauce didn’t taste much different from the ketchup, other than the texture. As for the tartar sauce, I’ve had better tasting sauce from McDonald’s. The dish also came with a small side of coleslaw, but I’m not a coleslaw fan. I also got to taste the stuffed shrimp. I did like the stuffing, which was cheesy crab meat. The shrimp was still average. This dish came with plain white rice as a side, which I found boring. I really think with Forrest Gump’s exciting life/story, they could have jazzed up the rice and given it some seasoning or something. This is one of the first restaurants you’ll see when you enter CityWalk. If you want to eat here after a long day at Universal, I recommend making a reservation on your way in — even though they’re not open that early, there is someone stationed at their booth to start taking reservations. By 9:30/10am, the prime dinner time slots(aka 6:30 — 7:30 timeslots, and the park closed at 7) were filled up. Average walk-in wait time was between 20 – 45 min. We made a 6:30 reservation and had to wait 10 – 15 min before being seated. Tip: If you don’t show up at your reservation time, there is a 10-minute grace period before they release it. Initially, service didn’t start out well. Once we were brought to our table, the guy(not our waiter) placed the stack of menus down at the head of the table and left. I have NEVER experienced that before, at every other sit-down restaurant that I’ve been to, someone has either handed me the menu once I sit down or the menu is already placed at my seat. This felt very off-putting and impersonal. Once our waiter arrived, he was friendly and explained how the«Run Forrest Run/Stop Forrest Stop» signs worked, since it was our first time eating there. To put it simply, need anything from your waiter? «Stop» sign. Good to go? «Run.» I think my table wasn’t quite used to the sign method to flag down the waiter, since we didn’t use the signs. But our waiter still checked up on us, and took good care of us — sign or no sign. Service redemption. The food is three stars but for the ambiance/overall Forrest Gump experience, they can have four.

cute place. kinda chain-isn. We had a really quirky server who was more than helpful since we had questions and were Orlando tourists. I liked the experience being in Orlando, but on a any regular occasion once was enough for me. Beer cost a fortune because there was no other option than to buy the souvenir glass for around $ 14 to get a beer. ??? hmph.

Very mediocre establishment, as far as the cuisine goes! HOWEVER, the ambiance and décor are amazing! LALA was the most outstanding waitress I have EVER experienced in all my years of dining! I mean EVER! She did A complete Forrest Gump trivia game while we waited on our order. She did our entire section at the same time; we had a ball! As a business owner, I am confident that LALA could singlehandedly run the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., from corporate office! Her talents are too vast to be a waitress!

1 hour waiting time for table because super busy. But the food was really good. It came fast even how busy this restaurant was. Shrimp peel and eat delicious. Shrimp scampi perfect. Jambalaya should me spicy but it was not that spicy. Service and food 5* for sure.

Bubba Gump restaurant was great! The host ushered us in and the wait was maybe 5 – 10 minutes. They were very organized and the host escorted us to the table. We had a party of four and our waitress was really cool. She asked is random questions about the forest Gump movie which was funny. The food was awesome we had shrimp Mac and cheese and garlic bread for appetizers, entrees was shrimpers heaven, seafood feast, fried shrimp dinner and kids cheeseburger and fries. Dessert was chocolate chip cookies with ice cream. Free ice cream for guest with birthdays which was cool. Great times! I would definitely go again

Great food. Even better service. The wait staff respond super quickly to those RunForestRun signs, and don’t annoy you otherwise. Very friendly and with the right amount of Forest Gump trivia. The food was really great too.

After a busy day at the park and awful food, we were starving. We waited only 10 minutes to be seated. The server was friendly and attentive to our food allergies. I had the Cajun mahi mahi and shrimp. It was wood grilled, tender and flavorful with just enough kick.

I end up having the«I’m Stuffed Shrimp» that has crabmeat served with rice, lemon butter and garlic bread. The whole meal was worth the cost.

Típico menú de mariscos gringo frito y empanizado. Cuando me fui vi una cubeta de mariscos cocidos. La siguiente los pediré. Si te gusta lo panizado está bien.

LOVED it! I am a big fan of the movie Forrest Gump(and my fiancé and I recently watched it together!) and have really enjoyed dining at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co at Universal Studios Hollywood in the past. My fiancé and I visited for lunch during our visit to Universal Studios Orlando. We loved how true to the movies and themed this restaurant was — we loved the various different posters, the ping pong paddles, the«Run Forrest Run» and«Stop Forrest Stop» service indicators, and even the Forrest Gump trivia questions that our waitress asked us(which we got mostly right!). For my entrée, I ordered the Shrimper’s Heaven(Hand Breaded Coconut Shrimp, Grilled Shrimp, Crisp Golden Shrimp and Tempura Shrimp with Fries. Came with dippin’ sauces like Tangy Asian, Cajun Marmalade and Zesty Cocktail). So much shrimp! I was, indeed, in shrimper’s heaven! My fiancé ordered the«I’m Stuffed» Shrimp, which came with Large Shrimp with Crab Stuffing, baked in Garlic Butter, and topped with Monterey Jack Cheese and served with Jasmine rice. He loved his meal as well. We also ordered drinks, which were delicious. I’d recommend getting the strawberry colada. And you get to take the glasses(with the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co logo on them) home for free as a souvenir! We still had half a day at Universal Studios, so we opted to pick them up from the Forrest Gump gift shop later that evening when we left Universal after a full day. Super useful! Sure, this isn’t the most amazing place to dine in Orlando, but it’s very true to the theme and has a fun, down-to-earth, nostalgic feel to it. Make sure to visit at lunch to beat the crowds! We didn’t have a wait at all when we visited around noon on Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

Had the shrimp bowl. It’s essentially shrimp in spicy broth with French bread for dipping. Delish!!! It’s not on the menu, but had it before when it was and had other renditions of it. People should try it!

Restaurants on City Walk in Orlando are expensive, but this one is worth the price. Our shrimp cocktails came with a terrific spicy-but-not-too-spicy sauce. The coconut shrimp came with a marmalade sauce that really worked. The ribs were obviously done low and slow, and fell off the bone the way they should. The BBQ sauce was to my taste, perfect. We took the receipt to the gift shop and got two nice FREE Bubba Gump beer glasses. I asked for their sauces and was told they don’t sell them. Oh, well, I’ll live. And I will also be hunting for other Bubba Gump locations. First time visiting this restaurant and was not disappointed. Great wait staff, great décor, even a quiz to keep you entertained. Food was plentiful, and delicious. I highly recommend.

Awesome place!!! Amanda was our server and she was phenomenal!!! She played side table trivia with us: D she totally tested our Forrest Gump knowledge. I appreciate touristy places that entertain for the tourists(not those that get annoyed by the tourists… let’s be honest… we are what keeps some places in business). All of the servers seemed upbeat and all of the patrons looked like they were enjoying themselves. We didn’t realize this, but if you’re a Landry’s Select Club member, you get priority seating. Just a note so you don’t have to wait in the hour long line because it was packed. If you’re up for some seafood, try this place out. It’s fun, and the food is pretty tasty!

It is now holiday season, so 20 minutes of wait was simply nothing for us. We went inside directly and were welcomed warmly by our waitress. After our waiter explained menus and asked us movie related questions, we ordered cajun spice with garlic sauced shrimp; with sausage, potatoes, corns, carrots and celeries as sides. They also offered all kinds of specialty drinks/wines: after you have finished, you can win a free cup souvenir. Overall a very nice experience as the food came in really fast, despite the fact that the restaurant was filled with people.

I’ve had a lot of friends recommend this restaurant to me, I was very very excited to try it. I wouldn’t say that it was a huge disappointment, it just wasn’t as enjoyable as other people described it. City Walk is an extremely touristy area so I was expecting the ambiance and the crowd. I was excited to see all the signs and references to the movie, those didn’t dissapoint. It was loud as was to be expected and there was a lot of walking and hustle going on around our table by both staff and guests. Again, I was expecting all of that and having lived in tourist Florida for most of my life I honestly didn’t mind. We started off with drinks… I got the Louisiana Lemonade. It was ok. don’t expect it to have any kick despite it’s size, it’s very fruity. We got a free souvenier Pilsner glass out of it. You take your receipt to the gift shop and they give you a nice clean one. For dinner I had the small Mama Blue’s Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp. Complete disappointment. I’m a fan of fried shrimp baskets… this had to be one of the worst ones I’ve ever had… the batter was goopy and chewy, not crispy. It was a giant plate of fries with the shrimp at the very top. I did not enjoy it, at all. The tartar sauce was good though! I only had a bite of the coleslaw because it was served warm. I don’t think it was intentional… maybe they left it out at the heated window in the kitchen too long. We also ordered the Lt Dan’s Drunken Shrimp… that was a lot better. The Bourbon sauce was excellent, a little spicy with a New Orleans kick to it. It made the dish. The Andouille sausage was ok… it wasn’t the best I’ve had but it added an extra layer of flavor that really complimented the dish. I think if I ever go back I’ll try my luck with their cajun dishes, those seem to be a bigger hit.

Run, Forrest, run! No, really. This place is still cool despite the gimmicks. No lie. First off, they’re on of the ONLY places at Universal that serves Pepsi products. Maybe you don’t care, but I did. The crab stuffed mushrooms were hot and tasty. They came quickly, and were a good portion for two to share. I had the steamed crab legs, and they were pretty great. It was a full pound of snow crab, along with a side(I had mashed potatoes– also tasty). My dinner relaly hit the spot and satisfied my crab leg craving. The cocktails here are mixed well, and there are a few that come with souvenir cups if you’re into that. Our server was the best part of the night. James was his name, and you can really tell he likes his job. He was friendly, super helpful, and on top of his game. This place gets pretty packed at the dinner hour, so reservations are a great idea if you don’t want to wait.
