I have stayed at the Shingle Creek resort on several occasions. This is the first time I have the opportunity to Unilocal!about this bar located poolside. Let me just say that it is a tiny bar located by the furthest, and the largest pool at the resort. It is an outside bar. They will bring drinks to you at your cabana, or even if you were in the pool. On my last visit, I have enjoyed some piña colada’s. Probably the best ones I’ve ever had. All of this is due to the skill of the bartender. I actually watched him make some drinks. He doesn’t work off of the mix, he does everything fresh. Whenever my wife and I go to Shingle Creek resort, we visit this bar every day.

The pool bar area is beautiful and when my husband went up to the bar to grab us a drink while I continued to play with our daughter. Mind you there were multiple guests, including kids at the bar. Several guests came and left before my husband was served. I’m not sure whether it was the color of his skin or his youthful look, but the bartenders clearly felt serving other guests who arrived much later(and open tabs) were better than serving my husband. It wasn’t until I arrived that they finally gave him the time of day, my skin color is not dark, so I’m left to assume the previous lack of serving my husband was based on skin tone rather age. We are here for two more days and I hope our future experiences improve. We’re locals always looking for staycation spots, so potential repeat customers. We normally stay at Hilton Bonnet Creek, but gave this resort a try.

If you’re staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek and must drink at the hotel(prices are very high — $ 5 for a can of Bud Light!), this is the place to go. You’re in Florida after all. Sit outside by the pool, enjoy the Florida weather(I’m from Indiana and we stayed for a week in March). You don’t even have to worry about rain as most of the seating is covered.
