Wife and I had shrimp tacos and two burritos– a buracho and a California burrito. Shrimp taco was excellent, California burrito tasted good(with fries on side), but buracho burrito was only so so. The service was really good, but it wasn’t busy. With only one cook and one bartender a crowd would be a challenge

You can’t fix stupid and this place is broken. Several in our party ordered vodka and soda drinks which were served with«flat» soda. After two vain attempts to re-make our drinks with the same flat soda our mentally challenged server and the manager failed to correct this simple problem. then, in a bizarre attempt to explain our flat drinks as a phenomena caused by the recipe itself, we resigned ourselves to our fate. 30 minutes later, another in our party orders a soda water which comes out full of sparkling bubbles, as it should. Obviously they changed the CO2; a simple fix neither our server, manager or the bartender either cared to do or was beyond their pay-grade.

So I signed up online to receive their newsletter which offers a free appetizer. Email comes and it can’t be displayed. Went to the restaurant for lunch and they wouldn’t honour either my print out or accept the fact that their email wouldn’t open in IE, Firefox, or Chrome. Server seemed like he didn’t want to be there so it made the meal less than enjoyable.

I went there last night because I saw they had some drink specials. I ordered a bloody Mary and I did not really enjoy it, it had an odd taste. I then ordered guacamole and that was awful as was the free salsa. The waiter was friendly but I do not see myself going back or recommending this place to anyone.

Agreeing with the other review regarding the level of service — terrible! No one greets you as you walk in, waitresses are unfriendly, and service is very slow! Food is average. Taco Tuesday specials are decent.

I stopped by here before a Magic game to get some grub and some drinks. We have been here several times out of convenience but it’s never an amazing experience. There was only one bartender behind the bar helping everyone out, so sometimes it’s frustrating having to wait your turn. The shot of tequila that he made was really watered so too. Glad it was just a shot, because it was pretty gross with so much water. The food is so so. We asked for some hot sauce and the bartender gave us a bottle with crusty hot sauce stuff around the edge(which it’s whatever, I know it happens) but it did not have a top or a cap on it either. That’s when I am getting kinda grossed out because I do not know what has touched the top. Wished that I loved this place, but this Tequila Parlour is sub-par.

I really wanted to like this place. There are so few easy, casual restaurants in this area, so I was so happy to see this welcome addition to the culinary landscape. We went in on a Monday night around 6:30PM, and the place was deserted. Deserted as in, «we actually couldn’t find anyone who worked there.» There were two people sitting at the bar, we asked of the place was open and they said yes, but it took another 5 to 7 minutes to find an actual employee of this place in order to be seated and order food. We ambled around the entire restaurant, and it was only as we were actually walking out the door that someone came up to us. Once seated, the service itself was just fine. Not overwhelming, but friendly and moderately efficient. Unfortunately, the food only lives up to the first, lackadaisical impression. It was just… boring. The chicken and cheese quesadilla with pico de gallo had almost no flavor, the chips were unsalted and a little greasy, and the salsa, while of mild to medium heat, was mystically still fairly flavorless. With great choices such as The Rusty Spoon just a few yards away, I can’t see that I’ll be giving this one another try.

We were in Orlando for a show at the Amway Center and had a couple hours to kill, so we stopped in for a drink. It was early in the afternoon and not very busy so the bartender was tending to matters other than the bar so we did have to wait about 15 minutes before he was even visible but the bar was clean and the TVs were tuned to the game-of-interest for the day. Not a bad way to kill some time and they had a decent, though limited selection. For example, they did not have Absolut. Keeping in mind that this is a TEQUILA parlour, though… let’s not discount them for their limited vodka selection.

Very poor service. We did not have silverware during our entire meal because our server said they were«out of silverware». We could not eat our nachos entirely with our hands. The sad server lacked the customer service skills and slight human decency to bus a table next to ours in order to get 4 sets of silverware washed. I don’t know what is going on in this place but if I were the manager and I was having this issue at 6pm on a Friday I would drive my ass to Target or somewhere near by to purchase some silverware to run the restaurant. It wasn’t even busy. They also ran out of chips, took a very long time to get maybe a small handful of fresh chips. I had to get up to ask for water from the bar because my server did not refill my cup.

As the taco connoisseur of Orlando, I was excited to try this newer restaurant in the carousel of businesses called Church Street. First, the service was terrible. Our glasses sat empty. The waitress came around about once every 15 minutes, and even then did not notice my empty water glass until I asked for a refill. Second, the food was eh. My first taco was a brisket taco – the meat was overcooked and the seasoning was terrible. The second taco was shredded chicken. Well, the menu said shredded chicken, but the actual dish lacked the shredding. Just straight from a can lump of chicken that I had to shred myself to eat. The menu also indicates that each taco would come with cilantro and lime. Besides the paltry, sickly looking piece of lime on my plate, there were about 3 leaves of cilantro to spread out over two tacos. Hoping the next restaurant that follows this likely failure will offer more edible food.

We had a LS coupon and I was very happy to go and finally try some Mexican food here in Orlando. I read various reviews on Unilocal, good and bad but I wanted to see for myself. I wasn’t disappointed. We were seated right away and the waitress was very friendly and took out our drink order right away. My husband ordered a Blood Orange Margarita which was great. The food came out very quickly and was very good. My only complaint was that it was very cold in the restaurant and my food got cold very quickly. During this time of year they need to close the door. I’ll definitely got back again.

My take on this place was«average tex-mex food with an above average atmosphere». I may be spoiled by Roccos Tacos in Dr. P… I have only been on weekend nights where the drinks are probably more priority than the food for everyone involved. Usually one of the stops on a night out downtown that consists of a little grub before moving on to the next place. You get what you expect food wise, atmosphere wise you get more than expected and sadly, the service usually leaves something to be desired. All in all, truthfully, I will go back and have some food and drinks on occassion… but, will never go out of my way if not already downtown though.

EH. It was okayyy. My friends and I went bar hopping and ran into here first. We ordered a few drinks, mine being a sangria. I watched the bartender make my drink by grabbing an orange, ripping it up, and putting it on top of my ice and a slice on the rim for decoration. She waited a couple minutes and all of a sudden a bar back came in and brought two bottles of already made sangria… –__– ATTNTONONSANGRIALOVERS: Sangria is NEVER at its best when not prepared by recipe! Fresh fruits should be sliced and previously placed into the cocktail at time of preparation… Anyway, so I had two because the purpose was to be tipsy and move on to the next bar. I decided to order some queso and chips(Do not say nachos because they will say«no, we don’t serve nachos.») and that was pretty good. Enough to sober up a little before moving forward. Definitely looks just like Antigua for those who have been there before it was shut down. Music and all still the same for the most part. Overall, it was an OK place for drinks and a small bite, wouldn’t care too much for a full course meal here though.

I loved the music they were playing in here. I felt like I was at home, aka, the Raiders game in Oakland(love you Raiders!). They had some football on for my coworker. If you order tortilla soup and you are from California, beware what they actually mean is chicken chilli. This thing was not soup. The enchiladas looked sad, but my coworker at them anyway. The dish was served with WHITERICE, yes, like you get when you have say sushi, or chinese food… Never seen such a thing at a Mexican spot, but hey. There’s a first time for everything. He didn’t even touch his bean soup(aka«refried beans»). In addition to my chicken chilli, I had two chicken tacos which were actually really good after I picked off the thick, crispy bad part of the onion that had«caramelized.» 3 stars mainly because the people were really nice, the bathroom was really clean, and my tacos were good.

I was a little hesitant about this place, considering how bad Antigua had gotten before they finally shut it down(how ever did they get the smell of urine out of there?). Anyway, we stopped in on a Saturday night. DJ Chino was doing his thing, a mix of hip hop and Latin music. There is a curiously placed bar that kind of cuts off the main dance floor, but we stopped there to get a drink, since ladies were drinking free. None of the bartenders were very friendly, but they were efficient. I can only review the nighttime Don Jefe’s. I have not tried the food or anything other than basic well drinks that were part of the ladies’ night special. Overall, it is typical Orlando nightclub fare. My only complaint was that my girlfriend and I went to the restroom, and she left a friend holding her drink — said friend was a guy. A bouncer told him that only women could drink free, took the drink away from our friend, and threw it in the trash. I think that is way too hardcore of a way to enforce the policy, particularly for a new place.

It’s the old Antigua and looks like it as soon as you walk in but it feels a little different. Went in Monday night for dinner with the girls. Our server was very perky and very informative and on point, kudos to her. When we were seated at 6 there wasn’t a huge crowd, only a few at the bar so sports were on and not much but background music. However, closer to 7pm a DJ setup and the music just kept getting louder and louder. There was not many more people, the bar did fill up a bit more but no one was there dancing so we requested to get it turned down a little(yeah, call me an old lady but we were trying to enjoy dinner and a conversation) so they did, they basically cut the speaker that was directed at our table. However, 20 min later it was back on. So that was a little frustrating. I get the bar feel at night, but it was Monday and not even 8pm. Oh well. We started with the guac and while it was not foodporn photo ready, it looked real dark and wet, it tasted great! Very salty and I love that. So the tacos all sounds delicious, however, you can’t order a mix… you have to get 3 of the same… sooooooo to work around that two of us split Machaca beef: brisket, sharp cheddar, pico de gallo, cilantro($ 10) and the Spicy Shrimp: white cheddar, avocado, corn, spicy mayo, cilantro($ 12). They were both good but the shrimp was very messy to eat, not a problem, just giving you a heads up. I enjoyed the brisket the most, cooked great and had a lot of flavor. Now, drinks… Their happy hour is buy 1 get 1 but you have receive both at the same time and they have to be the same flavor. At least they warn you ahead of time. So, I looked at the menu and BAM — My eyes were like magnets to: sampler(pick 3) |($ 15) — BRILLIANT! Margarita samplers — LOVE it, I will take that!(waitress butts in: they currently are not offering that because they have not received the sample size glasses… then she says, I don’t know why they don’t do it anyway) I agree… fail! So hopefully they will get that fixed soon cause that is a good idea. I went with the waitress suggestion of Blood orange — Cazadores Reposado, blood orange juice, lime and it was refreshing. Overall, somewhat okay but def a downtown club feel over a place to grad a good dinner.

I recently spent my Saturday night bar/restaurant hopping around downtown. I was visiting and looking to check out some cool new spots. This was our last stop of the night, we showed up around 10 and it was fairly busy so we sat up at the bar. There was a live DJ playing some decent dance music. The bartender came over to get our orders, although it was quite a wait for that to happen. My friend and I both got mixed drinks(no specials except a modelo/tequila shot combo, no thanks! On the bright side, the drinks we got were strong and tasty!). We also split the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and rice as well as a side of yucca fries. The steak was tasty and the accompanying sauce was quite zesty and delicious. The white rice on the other hand was as bland and boring as it gets. In this case, serving yellow or Mexican style rice would make it much better. Sadly, the yucca fries were not a winner in my book either. When I tried them plain, they were blah. When I dipped them in the oily sauce, it was so overpowered with garlic I couldn’t even touch it again. Probably should have asked for ketchup. Oh well. Normally I love Mexican food. While I do give this place a thumbs up on the environment and drinks, the food was not quite on par.

I’ve only been here for happy hour, so my review is solely based on that. I’m usually a beer or wine drinker, but since I was at a Mexican place and they had multiple flavors of margaritas, I decided to go with those. During happy hour they are 2−4−1 which is a total of $ 8.00 for two margaritas, not too bad. The margaritas are a nice size glass, and they don’t overflow them with ice. They have an original margarita as well as pineapple, spicy mango, blood orange, guava and pomegranate. I had the guava which was nice, but it was a very light flavor and sweet. The blood orange was my favorite, it was delicious! The other happy hour special they have is all of their Mexican beers are $ 3.00. It’s a huge place with three bars with plenty of seating as well as lots of tables. They had fans on high speed throughout the restaurant and we were freezing cold since it had been raining and they gladly turned the fans off for us, which was nice they were willing to accommodate us since some places would not. I would go back.
