Went here with my girlfriend and a good friend of mine. Food was good and their drinks are amazing. One of the only Cons I have was the music was playing way to loud. it was like I was at a club trying to eat a meal.

This is my new go to place for Margerhritas chips, salsa and guacemole. They only get 4 stars because I’m vegetarian and I find their overall menu a bit lacking in that department but I do love the vegetable tacos!

We can here on Sunday evening. It was pretty busy which I always think is a good sign. We were a party of 7 and got seated right away. The white queso dip was served warm and was really good. I had the small house margarita, it was good(very citrus-y) and fairly priced. The food was great, we shared fajitas. Great portion size and great taste. Everyone in our party was pleased with their food.

Great appetizers and food selection! They have pitcher of beers and margaritas, which I highly recommend. The prices are fair and the staff is attentive. The restroom wasn’t terrible, but did need some attention which is why I did not rate them at 5 stars.

We are regular customers at this location and until today I though my business was appreciate here. I came around Lunch time(11:45) and notice the place was unusually quiet, we ordered our Regular magarita pitcher and and placed our food order and we waited… and waitwd… and waited… we finally got our food and My“Molcajete«wasn’t even hot. I asked to talk to the«manager«and two words came out of his mouth«si» & «ok» the idea of apologizing for a $ 19.00 dish being cold never crossed his mind. When my bill got the the table the saga began. A pitcher that is priced for $ 21. oo(the same pitcher we order every time we come) was billed at $ 35.00 so I asked to talk to the manager and his reply was«who was the server that sold you that for $ 21.00; it so happens the server was there and al he did was argue with her. I got up and approached JUAN and asked him why was he confronting a front of the house employee for something she has no control over. THEMENUREADS $ 21.00 and FYI I always order the pitcher the same way with the same tequilla! HENEVERAPOLOGIZED, I was really taken back by this. I never had such poor customer service here maybe all the good employee’s were moved to Lake Mary Location. I guess I need to start looking for a new Mexican restaurante.

My husband an I went here for the first time a couple days ago. We picked it because it was in the same shopping center as the store we were going to go to anyway and it had pretty good reviews. It was right around 11am. They had just opened and we were the first ones there. It has a nice atmosphere. They have music playing but not too loud. They brought out our chips and salsa soon after we sat down. They salsa didn’t have a lot of flavor which it good if you don’t like spicy food. The chips where fresh and crunchy. When I go to a new Mexican restaurant I always have to order the Chimichanga. I have been looking for a great Chimichanga for years and have FINALLY found it! Nice crisp tortilla shell and wonderful sauce. They offer it filled with ground beef, chicken, or shredded beef. I got the shredded beef this time, but look forward to trying it with the ground beef and chicken on future visits. My husband ordered their California Burrito and said the cheese sauce it comes covered with was the best he had ever had.

This review is solely based on the Don Julio Quesadilla($ 10) which I was served on a Monday evening and wasn’t very tasty. The quesadilla was full of grease with chicken which had a weird gooy texture instead of dryish grilled chicken breast. Our server was a delight — she was quick and courteous. Our guac dip was very fresh and the complementary maxican chips were tasty as well.

I’m a big fan of this place. I usually get the burrito ranchero which comes with lots of toppings and yellow rice. It’s very good and the portions they give you are huge. Their lunch specials are also good for the amount of food you get. And their drinks are huge. I didn’t finish my margarita. Servers are very nice too. At night they have drink specials that are good too.

The food is good here. Coming from Texas where you get authentic Mexican food, this place seemed to be okay. I liked the ambiance and the service was good. I would done again.

I ordered chicken enchiladas. I didn’t like it, too salty and the chicken wasn’t even rolled up inside my enchilada, they grill it and place the piece on the side. I don’t like that, and the sauce wasn’t good either. I barely eat out to Mexican restaurants and this place have me another reason why I shouldn’t. The waiters were very friendly and nice. But I wouldn’t eat here again though based off of the food.

This place is really, really good. I’m a taco freak and can’t believe I had no idea this place existed before now. It’s a little out of the way for me living downtown but totally worth the drive. Started with their house margarita which is very good — not super sweet and just how I like them. We shared a guacamole and it was excellent. I had 2 chicken tacos and 1 chroizo taco — holy crap these are THEBEST! Nice large fresh tacos with great toppings. And totally reasonable at $ 9 for three BIG tacos. Service was fast and friendly. Really enjoyed this place and will return again soon.

It’s hard for me to give any place 5-starts since I consider that perfect. But this place is a solid 4 ½ stars. My husband and I took our nephew to dinner here on Sunday evening to celebrate his 22nd birthday. There were other people eating but it wasn’t super-crowded yet. We were seated in a booth immediately. Within seconds of settling into our seats, we had chips and salsa. We decided to start off with a pitcher of the house margaritas. The margaritas were delicious but certainly not weak. I definitely had a nice buzz going. We started off with guacamole which they make table-side. This isn’t a novelty now as I know other places that do this. But it was still enjoyable. Within a couple minutes, we were enjoying the tasty guac. I must admit that my husband and I are picky about guac. He is Mexican and makes a mean gauc himself. But between the 3 of us, we finished the guac(it was a generous serving). It had a really good flavor to it. They were quick in bringing a refill of chips(before we ran out). For dinner, I got a chimichanga(I know… not real Mexican food). But it was yummy. My nephew got the fajitas and had no complaints about his meal. I definitely want to come back and try other things on the menu. Since it was my nephew’s birthday, the staff brought out a big sombrero and sang happy birthday. We finished our meal with dessert. We left with full, satisfied bellies. The restaurant itself offers indoor seating as well as some tables outside. The restaurant serves authentic food in a nice, unpretentious environment. Usually when I want good, authentic Mexican food, I end up going to a hole in the wall on OBT. But it’s nice to have this option when I want to go somewhere a little nicer that has a full bar. We will definitely be back!

One word, three letters: YUM. I came here with friends recently after a workout in search of substance for our bellies. I was completely surprised by what a great find this place is! My fajitas were delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fun-even more fun I would bet not dressed in workout clothes and having a margarita which I will do on my next trip.

I’ve been coming here for some time now, and it honestly never disappoints. The food is absolutely amazing. The guacamole they make fresh for you at your table will change your life forever. The Margaritas are prescription-strength delicious, not a sugary head-ache. The restaurant is managed very well, everybody who works there is on top of things, and its never difficult to find someone to take your food and/or drink order. They accommodate large parties with ease; its always organized chaos there, and I mean that in a good way.

I came here for my friend’s birthday not knowing what to expect. I’m a little picky with Mexican food and was a bit worried I’d be disappointed. Don Julio did just the opposite! We made reservations for 7 – 8 and had to postpone our reservation by 30 minutes and they accommodated us. As soon as we were seated there was never a moment that I felt like we were being neglected. The staff here worked together to make sure we were always good on drinks and food. I went for the tacos, ordering the cow tongue, chorizo and steak. They were perfect. They’re a little more expensive than you’d get from a street truck in Austin, but they weren’t overpriced either. /tacosnob The drinks here are also amazing. I had their mojito since I wasn’t feeling the huge frozen margaritas that night. I’d definitely come back to try them out. NOW… ONE. LAST. THING. If you are here, you MUST get their guac. They roll out a cart and make it fresh right in front of you. It is seriously the effin’ truth. It’s like lime juice, chunks of avocado, garlic, cilantro and friends formed an alliance for the purpose of punching you in the mouth with some amazing flavors. Get it, if there’s one thing you do here, you get the guac. Me and olé’ Don Julio gonna’ be friends for a bit. I think they’re a good spot and I’ll be back to try some other stuff. They got the tacos right so I’ll go ahead and be adventurous next time. Don’t come here thinking you’re going to get«authentic» California/Texas mexican food and you’ll be fine. Lastly(for real this time), this place apparently turns into a club at night or something. So come early if you’re looking to have a meal. Parking sucks, so if you need to be in at a certain time, come early. It does get busy here, so be mindful. The staff here appears to really try to please people(but we all know some people are harder to please than others) Don Julio’s is solid. 4⁄5. Will come back.

11⁄27 — After working off the Thanksgiving feast at Planet Fitness, what do you do? You go next door to Don Julio’s for some Mexican food! I’m glad I did. It was a beautiful fall day in Orlando so if the restaurants have outdoor seating this is the time to take advantage and that’s exactly what we did. Our server came right out and got our drink order. They have a pretty extensive drink menu. I ordered the Pacifico beer. He brought out chips and salsa. The chips were warm. We also put an order of their lunch chicken fajitas($ 9). This was a good size portion if you are very hungry or sharable for two. It comes with 3 soft shells, so we just asked for an extra shell. You get a nice serving of chicken with tomatoes, onions and peppers. They also bring out the rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. NOEXTRAFORGUAC! Nice. The restaurant owner was also there and he came by, shook our hands and asked how everything was. They have a nice inside seating area and a pretty large bar area as well… lots of TEQUILA!!!

Let me start by saying that this place is almost 4 stars but their service is slow and almost non existent. We visited on a Saturday night for their tequila tasting. We figured it would be busy so we got there early. We are outside which was nice especially since our table was right next to the tequila sampling bar. Our waitress was pretty much MIA for most of our visit. Even one of her co-workers pulled her aside and told her in Spanish that she needed to be tending to her tables. We started off with margaritas, chips and queso. The queso is very good. Ask for a large bowl and not the small bowl. It’s more cost effective for the larger bowl. The salsa was ok but it could have used more flavor. I ordered one of the combo dishes with a beef taco and cheese enchilada. Our food took over an hour to get to us. By the time it arrived I was full on chips and queso dip. The meat in the taco was seasoned very well. My only complaint is that the entire dish was way too salty. It was flavorful but salty. I could barely finish my enchilada cause the cheese along with the sauce tasted like a salt lick. Needless to say I’m happy that I opted for the largest margarita cause I was thirsty!!! I should have stopped at dinner but I love dessert and had to try their Tres Leches. Great presentation but I wouldn’t order it again. Cake was dry and the little milk that I did have tasted like they only used evaporated milk. I will definitely try them again but I will try to go during lunch.

The menu at Don Julio’s is your basic Tex-Mex fare with some authentic Mexican fare on the menu, as well as some house favorites and specialty dishes. You can find a variety of tacos, quesadillas, flautas, enchiladas and burritos for your basic Tex-Mex options. If you want something more authentic, opt for Mexican street tacos with a variety of proteins available. My personal favorite is the ChoriPollo, which is essentially chicken breasts smothered in chorizo and queso. The ChoriPollo is under the Parrilladas section of the menu, which features various steaks, chicken, pork and seafood all served up in a variety of ways from the grill. Parrillada in spanish means to grill or barbeque. After four visits, I have been impressed with the consistency and the quality of the food. The service has been exceptional, and the house margarita has never disappointed. All meals come with complimentary chips and salsa. It’s always been good, but sometimes it can be a little on the spicier side. The table side Guacamole is always a great starter. You can have it made as spicy as you like and have at least six different ingredients you can have added to the mix. Queso Fundido is a mix of chorizo sausage and melted Mexican cheeses served with sour cream, pico de gallo and flour tortillas. This is a must have appetizer at Don Julio’s. We have ordered a pitcher of the house made Margarita on at least three occasions, and have never been disappointed. They make these bad boys strong and tasty. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. The Carnitas were outstanding chunks of Pork deep fried until crispy, but tender on the inside. Carnitas are served with Mexican rice, sour cream, pico de gallo, rice and beans, and flour tortillas. For something on the lighter side, Don Julio’s Chef Salad was pretty tasty as well. You can add grilled rib eye steak, chicken or fish to top off your salad. As I mentioned earlier, the ChoriPollo is delicious, and has become my favorite dish. You can’t go wrong by smothering chicken cutlets in chorizo and queso sauce. This meal is served with Mexican rice and flour tortillas so you can make your own ChoriPollo tacos.

This is a decent little spot for Mexican food in the E. Orlando area. I was there recently with a small group of friends and we had a nice experience for the most part. There were a few little things I noticed. For instance, we were a party of 5 and were seated at a table where my chair backed up right into a table of 2. I couldn’t really get comfortable because I didn’t want to be all up in that neighboring table’s business. Yet there was an ample amount of empty tables in the restaurant. Not sure what the reasoning was behind squeezing us so close to another table. That was a little annoying. The dish that I ordered was ok. I had the«Yolandas» entrée which was listed under house specialties. It came with 3 chicken enchiladas topped with special sauce served with a side of rice, lettuce, guac, pico de gallo and sour cream. My dish came out about 5 minutes after everyone else’s dishes came. To the point that it was a little awkward and I told everyone to eat! The dish itself was really just ok, more on the bland side. The enchiladas were filled with shredded chicken and the«special sauce» was really nothing special. Just red sauce. It didn’t even have any spice to it. Obviously I ordered the wrong dish. Most of my friends opted for the Pick 3 deal for $ 10 and seemed to be happy with. They do give large portions here as a couple of gals had plenty for leftovers. I don’t think I would drive out of my way to dine here(I live in Winter Park) but if I was looking to satisfy a Mexican food craving while in the area, I’d come back!
