This place is definitely underrated… probably because of the plaza it’s located in. The subs are worth a try though! I stopped here with a friend since she recommended it, but had she not I would have never attempted. The French fries weren’t that great the day we were there, although she stated that they are usually fresh to order and much less salty than they were that Tuesday. The subs made up for it being mouthwatering good. If you’re thinking subway… give this a try, I think it’s better and better pricing than subway, butttt doesn’t beat pub subs gotta be honest ;).

I have a tear in my eye. Duffys is closed, been going there since the 80’s. Should have figured, they were always empty, best steak subs no more.

Subs are really good, though not the best(leaps above Subway though!). It’s a small privately own restaurant so the subs seem to be more authentic than your usual sub chain. Prices are very reasonable for what you get, and they offer daily specials. If you’re a UCF student then there’s a 10% discount and it’s not hard to find student coupons in the area. Subs come in a half or a whole with your basic added ingredients(lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc.). You have a choice of white/wheat bread or a wrap. You can make it a combo and add chips/drink or fries/drink. Overall I would recommend Duffy’s.

Best subs in the city. Incidentally, they’re also the cheapest! Satisfying subs for five dollars, and they’re far superior to Jimmy Johns or any of those other garbage chains. Duffy’s has better bread and the same or better cold cuts. These sandwiches are«beach style,» packed with flavorful, fresh veggies. The dining room is relaxed and empty. Staff is friendly and chill. If you live on University and get your subs at a chain, you’re straight up DUMB!

I had the cheesesteak. I’ve had it before, years ago, but something about it this time made it taste awesome!(i think it was the fact that i shared a sandwich, so after one half i was thinking we need to jump back into the car and get another one!) It was tender, dripping with goodness, and perfectly satisfying. Best in town? NO. Best Near UCF, YES.

Finally made it to Duffy’s Subs and while it doesn’t really look like much, I was very impressed with the size and the taste of the subs. They were having $ 5 cheese steaks which were pretty tasty. I wish they had added more cheese onto the sandwich, you had to look hard to know it was there cause at first I thought they had left it out completely. I also tried the buffalo chicken sandwich and that one was the real winner for me. Fried white meat chicken, with the blue cheese dressing was absolutely delicious. The straight fries were crispy and delicious and you can’t beat it for only 70 cents more. The only thing I will say is that it’s loud in there so if you’re not in the mood to hear sports blaring on the TV, nor the fans cheering and commenting on it; I would grab the order to go. All in all I thought it was good and will probably be back.

It’s surprising how much trouble I’m having coming up with a rating for Duffy’s. It feels like a 3-star sub joint in just about every respect. Functional but not particularly pretty on the inside(but so what?), fluorescent lighting, wax paper on plastic trays, styrofoam cups, and a single-sheet laminated menu. These aren’t bad things at all. They just have a certain… feel. How does the food rate? Well, when I say that the food I had at Duffy’s rates 4 stars, it’s because 1) it’s better than Subway, 2) for what you get it’s cheaper than Firehouse, and 3) they aren’t the best shop in town either. Consider it 4 stars within the realm of area sub shops. I had the cheesesteak sub. Duffy’s claims it’s the best cheesesteak in town and that’s fine, I would say that too if I were them. It’s not though. What I will say is that it’s good, and I left satisfied. I ordered it with the curly fries which were great. And when all was said and done, with the fries and a drink, I was out 10 bucks. Not too shabby.

This place is fantastic. We asked them to cater for our wedding rehearsal of about 30 people. They gave us a great price on the food and they were super flexible with the food options that they provided. Every detail was covered(down to bringing toothpicks) and they had two people come to help setup. The service that they provided was phenomenal. On top of all that, everyone loved the food. Seriously, people were really pumped about the sandwiches. I highly recommend stopping by to check these guys out.

I just moved to Orlando and I was looking for local sub places. Although I do LOVE Quiznos, I wanted to find a place that wasn’t a chain, something I couldn’t have anywhere else so I tried Duffy’s. The 2 people working were pretty young, maybe just a little older than me?(I’m 19) & they were very awesome, haha, some crazy guy was in the drive thru, he got out of the car and he was making a fool out of himself and the dude making my sub turns around and says«do you see this guy?!» haha. Anyways, the sub I got was a veggie because I don’t eat meat. Keep in mind this my first time trying a local place and not a chain sub place, but most sub places usually charge the same for their veggie subs as their meat sub and I really never quite understood that, I guess they do it just because they can! haha, but Duffy’s is different. They have a WHOLE veggie sub for only $ 2.99, YES, only $ 2.99, it doesn’t get much better than that and the perfect part is it was WAY better than the $ 6 – 8 subs I get from Subway, Quiznos and more and also it was CRAMMED with veggies, they aren’t shy with the toppings which makes my $ 3 feel WELL spent. I will be going to place A LOT for lunch. It was $ 3.18 after taxes so I could go here every day of the week and it’d only be $ 22 spent on food, that’s whats up! Anyways, give Duffy’s a try, you won’t regret it, seriously.

I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. This place has the best Philly Cheesesteak Sub. Highly recommend coming here to try just that. Havent tried any of their other subs but they have several options to pick from. Not that expensive either… Even has a drive-thru in case you are on the run.

Duffy’s claims that it’s specialty is the philly cheesesteak. In fact, they claim that it’s the best in town! I’m not sure if it’s the best in town, I haven’t tried them all, but it is damn good. As opposed to classic liquid yellow cheese on the cheesesteak, they melt real provolone cheese throughout the sub and smother it with onions, peppers, and whatever other topping you demand for. I liked the melted provolone better than liquid cheddar. It was real good. The hot meat is actually very good with a modest portion of ketchup, barbeque sauce, or hot sauce. As far as the cold subs go, I’m fairly impressed. It goes without saying that it’s better than subway, who has the most abysmal and disgusting subs I’ve ever tried, but in general, I find it a very satisfying and tasty sub. They only come in one size and offer pretty good prices for double-meat and triple meat options. I’m not even sure if they have options on bread. I think they have a standard sub roll because I’ve never been offered an option. This isn’t the best sub shop I’ve ever tried. That honor belongs to Subs, Etc. in Miami, FL. But, I’ve been fairly impressed and will continue to try it if I crave a sub when I’m here in Orlando. I also like Jersey Mike’s on Alafaya and Lake Underhill and Mama B’s on E Colonial near downtown.

Duffy’s is truly a place that caters to the college student… and that’s probably a good thing since they’re located less than 2 miles from UCF. This full blown sub shop and deli offers massive sandwiches, gargantuan sodas and a laid-back atmosphere perfect for the average college student’s lifestyle and income(or lack there of). Unlike Subway or other sub shops in town, Duffy’s is definitely not stingy when it comes to meat or toppings on your sandwich and will do their best to accommodate your needs and wants. The best part about this small eatery is their HUGE daily specials. You can get an egg salad, meatball, or American cold-cut(salami, bologna, and ham) foot-long sub for just $ 2.99 with all of the toppings and condiments the freshly baked french bread can endure. If you’re more in the mood for something else, there are plenty of other choice meat combinations to choose from as well as some meat-free options for less than $ 7 which still isn’t bad. And now for the best part… you get a free cup of beer from keg behind the counter with every order! Of course, it’s not the best quality(Natty Light) but it’s free and it’s beer which is music to a college student’s ears(trust me, I know first hand). The staff behind the counter are all very friendly and move very quickly. Also, because Duffy’s is located on the end of the the L-shaped plaza, they are able to have a drive-up window which is perfect for those who are always on the fun and need something quick, cheap and easy. Throwing caution to the wind… while these subs are not bad, they’re not the best either. I’m not a big sandwich person as it is, so my standards may be a bit different from others. They are rather messy and while the veggies seem fresh I don’t know that the meat is the best quality… perhaps that explains the cheap prices. It also gets pretty packed here during the lunch and on the weekends. Overall, not bad, but not a favorite.
