Rachel has been making my hair look amazing since 2009. She takes my hair type and even my lifestyle into consideration when helping me decide what cut and color will work best for me.
She really knows me and my preferences and I trust her wholeheartedly with my hair color, cut and style. She’s the best!

Rachel Douglass is the best! She always know what I want and gets my color and cut perfect every time. I will travel from Jacksonville to see her!

Been going to Rachel for years. I have thick, coarse hair, that’s prone to be frizzy. Rachel is a miracle worker both with color and cut! She keeps up with the newest techniques and trends. I have sent both family and friends to Rachel all of which consider her to be the best!

Very nice atmosphere when you walk in the door. I alway have an appointment so I know where to go but there is a screen with an easy to read map displayed. I always head for Rachel Douglas for my appointments. I’ve never had a bad experience and she listens before she styles!

I love the independently owned salons. What a great concept right here locally.
PS. To the person that gave a 1 star review for a bad experience, that would be like giving a 1 star to Walmart because the hair cutting place that rents from Walmart did a bad job. You should really look up Velvet Wax Spa and give them a 1 star review. Also, Groupon should give you your money back or at least an account credit if you explain what happened.

I never knew iStudio existed until I followed my hairstyle from her previous salon to her new digs here. I’m a huge fan of the space and love that I can interact with my stylist one on one in a small setting with no real distractions. If you’re on the hunt for an amazing hair girl, visit Jax at Jax 5^th Avenue inside this iStudio. Love!

I’ve been going to Angela in studio 24 for the last 4 years, she does amazing color, great cuts, my hair has never looked better or been healthier. I highly recommend her

I have been coming to Jenn in Studio 25 every two weeks for a color touch up and highlights every 4 – 6 weeks, (LOTS if grey!) for several months now and have had an amazing experience every time. I’ve been coloring my hair since my early 20’s and she is one of the best I’ve ever had. She also does a great shampoo, head massage and blow dry. I have thick, corse, frizzy hair and she is able to tame it with a smooth swingy blow out! On a final note she has the sweetest personality too! Always very welcoming offering a cup of coffee or drink and conversing enough, but not too much, giving me time to relax and check my emails. I highly recommend Jenn for all your hair needs.

My stylist is in studio 25, Jenn. And she is AMAZING! My hair looks great and I can’t wait to go back!

iStudios is located in College Park, nestled inbetween the Tijuana Flats and CVS at the corner of Princeton and Edgewater. There are a few parking slots on Edgewater Drive, but most parking is in the 2 lots before you get to Edgewater Drive.
iStudios offers various salon services by independent professionals in the area, so it’s like an executive suites, but for beauty services. The main entry has a directory with the suites listed, each vendor has their own suite number. Before arriving to an appointment, getting the suite number for your beauty professional would be very helpful. :) There is a small waiting area in the lobby, with a few chairs if you arrive early. I visited iStudio to see JMACPALMS nails located in Suite 7, who specializes in nail services ranging from gel polish manicures, acrylic manicures, natural nail manicures and spa pedicures.
I think the iStudio concept is cool as gives a chance for independent beauty professionals to practice individually, without the overhead of setting up a whole shop on their own, or renting a booth in a pricier salon/​spa. If you are looking for salon type services, check them out. If you are looking for a serene spa environment, be aware that the ambient background noise is more of a salon atmosphere. (Various conversations are heard, hair dryers, etc.) Each suite is a private room, but there is no ceiling to the individual rooms, so noise from the other suites is easily heard. I enjoyed my services and will be back.

I was ripped off by a Groupon deal for a massage therapist who supposedly works out of here but never showed up (Velvet Wax Spa). The thing that bothered me was the two men in the office. I told them that I was told to come there for a massage and that I didnt know who the lady was that I was waiting for.
I told them that Unilocal had given Velvet Wax Massage bad reviews but i ignored them hoping that maybe the other people were being a bit picky. When i asked the men if they wanted to see the bad reviews, they said «I’d rather not.» So you’d rather take money from a dishonest person who contracts rooms out of your building and rips people off for services not rendered? Hail the all-​mighty dollar!
Plus it was very professional that they sat there with a huge TV watching the weather report while I sat there bewildered. No attempt was made to look up the business Velvet Wax Spa, see if they had ever been there, etc. They called the only massage person in the building and thats about it. The girl they called wasnt Velvet Wax Spa. The people actually renting out the rooms were more helpful.
P. S. Robert tried to leave me a negative comment about giving this place a bad rep. «They were hairstylists in the office, it’s not their fault.» Well, actually, it is. I asked to speak to the manager and they responded. If you aren’t the manager, and you are just some stylists on a break in what clearly is an office, then tell me that. I don’t think it’s very professional to watch TV in the office too, by the way and not clarify that you are just stylists. Did you not see where they didn’t care that bad business was in the building either? You’re just further proof that this place doesn’t give a crap. Also, Robert I have every right to block you when you leave a negative comment under my compliment section. If you sent me a message being polite and explaining the situation, that would have been understandable. You didn’t. Instead you were vindictive and childish and left me a negative comment under my compliment section. You deserve to get blocked for an abuse of Unilocal
