Decent at best. Caesar salad tasted like it was straight out of the bag. The steak was ok… nothing special. I had the filet and agree with a previous reviewer that Texas Roadhouse is a cheaper steak that in my opinion is much better than the one I had last night. I think the problem is that I compare every steakhouse to Bob’s Steak & Chophouse and most of the time I walk away disappointed. I would think there are much better options around this area… I was just to lazy to look around and paid the price.

Loved the ambiance, but being from Texas, we set a high standard for meat. Filet mignon was a 6 out of 10. The fall veggies were great. The dessert was good as well. We was very curious on who Rosen was. I think that was what attracted us to this place. Looks like he owns half the strip. If you want a better steak minus the ambiance, I recommend Texas Roadhouse.

Holidays are crowded, so I had a dilemma between dine at home or wait for hours to be parked and dine at a Restaurant… The solution: Jack’s Place @ Rosen Plaza Hotel! I had complimentary Lobby Valet Parking(Validated at the end of my meal). Then, in a few steps I proceeded to the hostess(Waiting time: none) and I was seated in an intimate and elegant atmosphere. The menu is small but you get some generous Steak & Seafood combinations. I emphasized to the server the weird requests of my guests and he didn’t disappointed me. The pesto and blue chesse was delightful! My filet was perfectly cooked and my friend’s Seabass was moist and juicy! I love it! When you visit a hotel restaurant, you know prestige and brand recognition matters!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and service of Jack’s Place. Our usual favorite place is Eddie V’s and we had a horrible experience recently at Del Frisco’s. But we had an event at the Rosen and decided to have dinner at Jack’s beforehand. While the atmosphere of the restaurant area is more traditional(though comfortable), rather than more modern looking like Eddie V’s, the food was excellent.(Note: the bar area is more modern.) Where most steak houses struggle to prepare meals for me for my allergies, and usually give me only 1 – 2 options, Jack’s didn’t blink an eye. They said they could prepare anything I wanted any way I wanted. What a concept! The food came out perfectly(I had ahi tuna, my husband had the strip) and was beautiful and tasty. A bonus: the food is much more reasonable than other steakhouses, particularly the side items, which aren’t even a requirement because the main courses come with sides. Very unusual for an upscale steak house. Edwin, our waiter, and his supporting staff were extremely attentive and made the dining experience and great one. We will definitely return!

Second time here for dinner on business and no disappointments. This is traditional dining so be prepared to take your time. Attentive staff leads to to wonderful service. Baked Onion Soup to start was a great lead in to a perfectly cooked Filet. Tender and tasty with wonderful flavor. The vegetables are a large grilled medley with potatoes au gratin. Heavy food for serious eaters!

Thank goodness for magical dining month! My husband and I had a decent meal here – 3 courses – for only $ 33 a piece. I had the salad – was drenched in dressing and not very edible, but my husband seemed to enjoy his shrimp and grits. For the entrees, we both ordered steak. I ate about 3 ounces of my steak. It just wasn’t great, and the butter they put on top made the steak taste worse. The exterior was overly salted, and the inside was undercooked. However, I loved the potatoes. So creamy and warm and delicious! Finally, dessert. My husband’s berry cheesecake was beautiful and SODELICIOUS. I kept stealing bites of his, and I don’t normally like cheesecake. It was not overly dense, and they styled it with bits of white chocolate and raspberry sauce. My chocolate cake was also very pretty, but tasted like it had just been thawed out. Chocolate cake is always delicious, but this was no better than a grocery store chocolate cake. I really expected more from this fancy, expensive steakhouse. Overall, it was a great experience for the Magical Dining Month special, but I wouldn’t visit again at full price.

Went here for magical dining month(thankfully). So for $ 33 we got 3 courses(plus their bread) — I had the shrimp and grits, filet and the cheesecake. My wife had the salad, filet and the chocolate cake of some sort. First off, maybe it was just my seat, but I could hear the people outside the restaurant(it’s in the lobby of a hotel) and the hostess talking constantly. This totally detracted from the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant, but that’s fine, my wife didn’t have the same problem. When we got there we were literally the only people in the restaurant, so the service was excellent. The bread was great, warm, two different kinds and the pesto dipping sauce was nice and chunky. I liked my shrimp and grits, the shrimp were small, but the dish was plentiful. My wife didn’t really care for her salad and I agree with her on that. The filets were okay, not nearly as bad as mortons, but just not that great, way worse that a Ruth’s Chris steak. We both ordered ours medium-rare, mine was dead on, but her’s was fully rare and neither steak had much flavor. They put a nice piece of steak butter on top, but even that didn’t give the steak much flavor I ended up grating on salt and pepper to make the steak better. The sides were okay, my wife liked the potatoes a lot more than I did, and the veggies were also under seasoned for my tastes, but the plate did look very pretty. The highlight of the meal for both of us was my cheesecake. My wife’s chocolate cake wasn’t anything spectacular, but my cheesecake was probably the best dessert I’ve ever ordered. First, they give you an entire mini-cake so you get some crust with almost every bite. Then the flavor of the cake was great, fluffy without being airy, and the fruit served to give each bite a slightly different flavor based upon which berry you had with the cheesecake. Additionally it was one of the prettiest desserts I’ve ever eaten. At the end of the day, I would probably give the place 3.5 stars, but then again, I thought our meals were worth about $ 33, and if it wasn’t magical dining month, the meal would have cost over $ 50 which would not have been worth it, so I’ll stick with my 3 star rating. If you do go here YOUHAVETOGETTHECHEESECAKE.

My wife and I went here for dinner one evening with some friends from church. We were promptly greeted by the hostess at the door, and were taken to the table reserved for four people. Our host, Jonathan asked if they had lamb on the menu that evening, because he enjoyed it so much on a previous visit. The waiter went to check and later informed us that lamb was not available that evening. We all proceeded to place our orders. I had one of the most delicious steaks that I have ever had. My wife had salmon that was wrapped in bacon, that she thoroughly enjoyed. Come to think of it, anything wrapped in bacon is fabulous. The wine, the food, the cocktails, the coffee, All of it was wonderful. Here’s the reason for my five stars… The Chef, upon realizing that we were repeat visitors, meaning locals and not tourists, had brought to our table a dessert platter for all four of us to share. Now THAT, is called«exceeding expectations.» The food, service, the environment, it was all worth a repeat visit. «Jacks,» I’ll be seeing you again.
