Only showed up to my job once before 10AM. VERY unprofessional and rude on the phone. Job was always going to be completed tomorrow. Tomorrow never happened. They did lay my sod and bring in dirt but it was a hassle. He even finished my neighbors job before finishing mine. I paid in full hoping to get the job done quicker (stupid of me), finally asked them to leave and not finish because I was so fed up. They have not refunded the difference back like discussed. They won’t even answer my calls or text. Unfortunately, they had a great price but you get what you pay for.

I only dealt with one worker, so the company as a whole may be fine. But my experience was horrible.
Shows up late. Unprofessional. Asks for money before the job is done. Can’t keep his story straight. Job will be done «today!» Note: Job is still not done. I had to end the job before it was done because I was so aggravated. It was cheap, but you get what you pay for. I just don’t have the patience for this kind of nonsense.

JR Affordable Landscaping has done a great job in maintaining my lawn, trimming hedges, etc. and have been dependable and reasonable.
Very, very impressed and highly recommend to anyone looking for maintenance of their property, landscaping, etc.

They talk a good game, but the service is not good and they are not professional. They charged me a monthly fee for weekly cuts and they would take the money at the beginning of the month but then they stopped coming regularly. They would come 4 days late one week then skip me altogether the following week. This happened multiple times over 2 months. When they called looking for money at the start of the 3^rd month, I called them on their shit and the owner apologized and said they would be there the next day. They weren’t there the next day so I started looking for someone new. Three days later, they showed up to tell me they weren’t going to service my account anymore due to not having enough work in my area and that it takes them over an hour to get to me. Good riddance.
On their first visit I paid them extra to do some landscaping work– cleanup, raking and trimming some bushes. They didn’t trim anything, instead they hacked some of the bush with a weedwacker (yes, seriously), and literally RAN OVER the bushes with their «mulching lawn mower». I had asked that they rake up the mess and instead of raking they kept saying the «mulch» was good for the grass to grow. Now instead of large sticks, I have small sticks, and the amount of «mulch» in the area prevents any grass from growing. Oh, and this was all after my neighbor hacked down a lot of the bush with a machete because J&R kept skipping it each week even though I had already paid for it. They did some raking in the back yard, but I had to ask them 3 times to finish it because they kept doing a half ass job, and they bagged it in heavy bags but then left the bags in the back yard for me to drag out to the road.
They are pretty inconsiderate. They skipped my service day and came on a different day one week, which happened to be the day I had just washed my couch cushions and had them leaning up against the house on the walkway. They just started mowing and blowing lawn clippings and dirt all over my clean wet cushions. I was livid! I had to clean the cushions all over again and it took twice as long to get all the yard dirt off of them! Another time they stupidly mowed the lawn in the rain, then left soggy piles of lawn clippings (oh sorry, I mean «mulch») everywhere. Their «mulching» mower just leaves crap everywhere and they use it as an excuse not to blow it off.
They would constantly promise shit, then not do it, or give me an excuse of why they couldn’t do it then, but tell me they would come back tomorrow to finish up for whatever reason, then not show until the following week, sometimes longer. Overall, they were not very professional, and it was not a good experience. The younger kid seems nice, but the older guy seems like a sleazy snake oil salesman. They have a lot to learn about customer service and how to run a business.

My lawn was a mess and the team behind JR’s showed up the same day to offer their expertise and formulated a plan that worked within my tight budget and also with my lawn care needs. Dealing with my lawn was so stressful and these guys put me at ease, I’m excited for a beautiful well kept lawn! I have zoysia grass and they definitely sound like they understand what they are working with.
