I relocated to FL under 2 years ago. I am really a New Yorker.(AKA: Chinese Food Snob.) It’s ok, I admit to that. And I have to say that Orlando is by far the worst place to find GOOD chinese food! After trying a dozen places that made us(my husband and I) disappointed and even sick, I am happy to report that Kim Wu is decent! Some locals have said it was good and we decided to finally drive over and give it a whirl. Mmmm, pretty darn good! Not«NY» good, but for Orlando… Fabulous! The staff is always so very nice(we are repeat customers!) and the lunch buffet is tasty. Although it is small in selection, they do have a nice variety, to name a few: green beans w/pork, spare ribs, pecan shrimp(yum!), lo mein, fried rice, egg rolls AND whatever soup you’d like which is brought out to you from the kitchen. We have ordered off the menu before, but since the lunch buffet is a good buy and always consistently good, why bother?

My Mom got me some buffet to go after eating in for lunch imagine her surprise when they charged her by the pound totally not worth it. Eat in or order off the menu otherwise your going to pay a pretty penny.

We just had a wonderful dinner here tonight. The atmosphere is great and the food is terrific. We had plenty to take for leftovers. The staff was attentive. Wish we weren’t from out of town and had more time to come again.

Taste: 1.5÷2 Value: 1⁄1 Service/ambience: 0⁄1 Will I return? No. 0⁄1 The food here isn’t bad, a little salty but otherwise it’s a place you can get decent quality Chinese food with some pretty authentic options to choose from. However, the service I’ve received from the waitress at this place makes me want to never come back again. Tonight was my boyfriend and my second time eating here, and tonight we noticed that a tip of over 20% had been added to our bill for us. We thought it was odd because we only had 2 people in our party, as most restaurants only add the tip to the bill for you if you have 6+ in your party. When we asked the waitress about it, her response was that whenever she thought she provided good service, she added the tip to the bill herself. When we asked her to let us decide how much to tip on our own, she proceeded to argue with us and accused us of only tipping her $ 2 when we were there two nights ago. She continued arguing when we suggested she must’ve been mistaken because we wouldn’t have tipped that little on our previous meal, and all three of us were pretty upset by the ordeal. We later found our receipt from the last time when her tip was double what she claimed it was. This is a shame, we had enjoyed the food at Kim Wu but will not return because I’m fairly certain that there will be spit in our food if we do.

Amazing Chinese food. I just moved to Orlando a couple of months ago from Canada and after checking a couple of other places for Chinese food I was starting to get really disappointed until today. Kim Wu is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever tried and I will be going back again for sure, the food is awesome and the staff is very friendly. Keep up the good work.

This is the only place that I have found in the Orlando area that has great food like in New England. I have been here three times and every time is fabulous and the staff is friendly and always right on top of things!

Hidden Gem near Universal. Big portions, excellent service. Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time.

Neighborhood Chinese restaurant that offers take out and authentic style dishes. The food is just mediocre, we opted for the more authentic route. Food was way too salty for my liking. Will not return.

Best Chinese I’ve had in Orlando. Here’s what my daughter and I ordered: Daughter: Chicken fried rice, egg roll, water Me: Sesame chicken, egg roll, water. Also requested a bowl of the brown sauce — this really enhanced my meal. Both our meals were very good. As an appetizer, the meal came with a complimentary serving of Crispy Wonton Strips. They tasted really fresh and were not too greasy. For desert, the meal came with a small complimentary plate of fruit containing pear and orange slices. As for the restaurant itself, the ambiance was tranquil, the dining area and bathrooms were clean, the parking lot had ample open spots(although we did eat around 4 pm), and our booth and table were comfortable(I was just thinking it’s been a while since I’ve eaten at a table with a glass table top protector.) The service was good, we didn’t wait more than 10 minutes for our entrees, and our waitress was helpful. All-in-all, I’d recommend Kim Wu if you’re in the mood for good local Chinese. Note: Google Maps /GPS will guided me to the plaza, but not directly to the restaurant, so be aware that it’s located at the south end of the plaza.

Kim Wu’s, what can I say, I was shocked how good the food was. Being a traveler has given me the opportunity to eat at some of the best Asian restaurants in the country. Now I wouldn’t say this as as good as the best of the best but, it is damn good. Next time you go to Orlando please stop at this place. MjM

Ok so I wanted to give it another try. On our way there we were in a little rush so I asked my husband to take the back road where they get their deliveries to avoid all the bumpers(I know it’s bad) but then in the middle of the dark right in the back of the restaurant we saw someone from the kitchen calling out cats and there were about 5 – 6 cats around and I’m sorry but it completely turned us off of the place. Lol No comments after that our imagination went all over the place.

Excellent«old school» Chinese restaurant. It was a quiet Saturday night because of Halloween but our server was super attentive, gave me an excellent recommendation for an entrée(crispy beef), and the food came out super fast and hot. They bring out crispy wontons to eat with sweet sauce while you view the menu. We got egg rolls, pork dumplings, I had crispy beef(crispy but note tough like most places), and my husband had general tso chicken(which was also really good). They even brought my husband extra hot chili oil for his food. The plates were decorated beautifully with radish flowers and after the meal they gave us a free plate of fruit(oranges and pineapple) with the fortune cookies, followed by hot towels.

I’ve been here a few times, but only for the Sunday lunch buffet. Every time I leave, I’m already thinking about when I can return! The owner, Cindy, is always there and she greets everyone with a smile. I love that she is an owner who is totally hands on. She is always seating guests, clearing dishes and cashing out customers. Immediately upon being seated, a server comes by for your drink and soup order. The soup comes with the buffet price. I always get the the wonton soup! After giving your order, you are welcome to help yourself to the buffet. Some of my favorites are the crab rangoon, peel and eat shrimp, egg rolls and the pecan shrimp.

Restaurant is super clean, the food is fresh, delicious and generous amounts(leftover for next day) my fave is the Fried pork chops with red sauce… don’t know the name in English, but I order from the«hidden menu» that I grew up with in Chinatown, New York. You can’t go wrong with the stir fry green beans with sizzling beef, comes with a brown gravy. I also love the combination fried rice sans soy sauce. These are all dishes I grew up with… can’t go wrong with anything here though! I have attached some pics. So just point to it for the server when you are ordering since I don’t know what the official names in English are. Ha!

This place is absolutely outstanding! Who knew you could get such quality in a weird strip mall off Kirkman road?! Went here with the girlfriend and the fam on a lark; totally random selection ended up being one of the best Chinese food experiences ever. First off, for the advanced crowd, they have a «real» Chinese menu and an American one. So if you want your deep-fried«chicken» pieces slathered in orange-colored goop, get the standard menu. If you want black bean sauce(and know what the hell that is), ask for the real deal; sadly I didn’t learn about it until after ordering. Despite this, I had a great experience with what I did order. The hot and sour soup is easily the best I’ve had; standard in terms of texture and obvious ingredients but the flavor was richer and less pungent than usual. Frankly reminded me of French onion soup in terms of the richness. Split an entrée, which I believe was crispy beef. Absolutely delicious. Could not hope for a better quality of beef and balance of flavor. This place is not your Panda Express. After dinner we were served watermelon and assorted cool fruits randomly and wonderfully. Totally surprised and impressed. They do things co-rekt at this place. Go there! Cannot overstate how impressed I was with the entire experience. I

Excellent tasting Chinese cuisine with top-notch service from a very gracious server, Ms. Shelly! Ice-tea includes free refills, by the way and the server refilled my drink 5 times even when she was swamped with other orders, of course with a smile. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting, complete with Asian soft-rock and many elements of the culture throughout the dining area. There was a complimentary fruit platter and hot towel – which put this place over the top! Sad things is, you could easily mistake this place as strictly a take-out joint but don’t be fooled, they have a very well-dressed, lively dining area in the back with complete with awesome service. Bottom line: The server, Ms. Shelly was a superstar and the food was delicious, satisfying and of large portions. I RECOMMENDHIGHLY! :)
